Luke 6

1 Now it happened that, on the second first Sabbath, as he passed through the grain field, his disciples were separating the ears of grain and eating them, by rubbing them in their hands.	1 Or il advint, un sabbat, qu'il traversait des moissons, et ses disciples arrachaient et mangeaient des épisen les froissant de leurs mains.
2 Then certain Pharisees said to them, “Why are you doing what is not lawful on the Sabbaths?”	2 Mais quelques Pharisiens dirent: "Pourquoi faites-vous ce qui n'est pas permis le jour du sabbat?"
3 And responding to them, Jesus said: “Have you not read this, what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him?	3 Jésus leur répondit: "Vous n'avez donc pas lu ce que fit David, lorsqu'il eut faim, lui et ses compagnons,
4 How he entered into the house of God, and took the bread of the Presence, and ate it, and gave it to those who were with him, though it is not lawful for anyone to eat it, except the priests alone?”	4 comment il entra dans la demeure de Dieu, prit les pains d'oblation, en mangea et en donna à sescompagnons, ces pains qu'il n'est permis de manger qu'aux seuls prêtres?"
5 And he said to them, “For the Son of man is Lord, even of the Sabbath.”	5 Et il leur disait: "Le Fils de l'homme est maître du sabbat."
6 And it happened that, on another Sabbath, he entered into the synagogue, and he taught. And there was a man there, and his right hand was withered.	6 Or il advint, un autre sabbat, qu'il entra dans la synagogue, et il enseignait. Il y avait là un homme dontla main droite était sèche.
7 And the scribes and Pharisees observed whether he would heal on the Sabbath, so that they might thereby find an accusation against him.	7 Les scribes et les Pharisiens l'épiaient pour voir s'il allait guérir, le sabbat, afin de trouver à l'accuser.
8 Yet truly, he knew their thoughts, and so he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Rise up and stand in the middle.” And rising up, he stood still.	8 Mais lui connaissait leurs pensées. Il dit donc à l'homme qui avait la main sèche: "Lève-toi et tiens-toidebout au milieu." Il se leva et se tint debout.
9 Then Jesus said to them: “I ask you if it is lawful on the Sabbaths to do good, or to do evil? To give health to a life, or to destroy it?”	9 Puis Jésus leur dit: "Je vous le demande: est-il permis, le sabbat, de faire le bien plutôt que de faire lemal, de sauver une vie plutôt que de la perdre?"
10 And looking around at everyone, he said to the man, “Extend your hand.” And he extended it. And his hand was restored.	10 Promenant alors son regard sur eux tous, il lui dit: "Etends ta main." L'autre le fit, et sa main fut remiseen état.
11 Then they were filled with madness, and they discussed with one another, what, in particular, they might do about Jesus.	11 Mais eux furent remplis de rage, et ils se concertaient sur ce qu'ils pourraient bien faire à Jésus.
12 And it happened that, in those days, he went out to a mountain to pray. And he was in the prayer of God throughout the night.	12 Or il advint, en ces jours-là, qu'il s'en alla dans la montagne pour prier, et il passait toute la nuit à prierDieu.
13 And when daylight had arrived, he called his disciples. And he chose twelve out of them (whom he also named Apostles):	13 Lorsqu'il fit jour, il appela ses disciples et il en choisit douze, qu'il nomma apôtres:
14 Simon, whom he surnamed Peter, and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,	14 Simon, qu'il nomma Pierre, André son frère, Jacques, Jean, Philippe, Barthélemy,
15 Matthew and Thomas, James of Alphaeus, and Simon who is called the Zealot,	15 Matthieu, Thomas, Jacques fils d'Alphée, Simon appelé le Zélote,
16 and Jude of James, and Judas Iscariot, who was a traitor.	16 Judas fils de Jacques, et Judas Iscarioth, qui devint un traître.
17 And descending with them, he stood in a level place with a multitude of his disciples, and a copious multitude of people from all of Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast, and Tyre and Sidon,	17 Descendant alors avec eux, il se tint sur un plateau. Il y avait là une foule nombreuse de ses discipleset une grande multitude de gens qui, de toute la Judée et de Jérusalem et du littoral de Tyr et de Sidon,
18 who had come so that they might listen to him and be healed of their diseases. And those who were troubled by unclean spirits were cured.	18 étaient venus pour l'entendre et se faire guérir de leurs maladies. Ceux que tourmentaient des espritsimpurs étaient guéris,
19 And the entire crowd was trying to touch him, because power went out from him and healed all.	19 et toute la foule cherchait à le toucher, parce qu'une force sortait de lui et les guérissait tous.
20 And lifting up his eyes to his disciples, he said: “Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.	20 Et lui, levant les yeux sur ses disciples, disait: "Heureux, vous les pauvres, car le Royaume de Dieu està vous.
21 Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who are weeping now, for you shall laugh.	21 Heureux, vous qui avez faim maintenant, car vous serez rassasiés. Heureux, vous qui pleurezmaintenant, car vous rirez.
22 Blessed shall you be when men will have hated you, and when they will have separated you and reproached you, and thrown out your name as if evil, because of the Son of man.	22 Heureux êtes-vous, quand les hommes vous haïront, quand ils vous frapperont d'exclusion et qu'ilsinsulteront et proscriront votre nom comme infâme, à cause du Fils de l'homme.
23 Be glad in that day and exult. For behold, your reward is great in heaven. For these same things their fathers did to the prophets.	23 Réjouissez-vous ce jour-là et tressaillez d'allégresse, car voici que votre récompense sera grande dansle ciel. C'est de cette manière, en effet, que leurs pères traitaient les prophètes."
24 Yet truly, woe to you who are wealthy, for you have your consolation.	24 "Mais malheur à vous, les riches! car vous avez votre consolation.
25 Woe to you who are satisfied, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.	25 Malheur à vous, qui êtes repus maintenant! car vous aurez faim. Malheur, vous qui riez maintenant!car vous connaîtrez le deuil et les larmes.
26 Woe to you when men will have blessed you. For these same things their fathers did to the false prophets.	26 Malheur, lorsque tous les hommes diront du bien de vous! C'est de cette manière, en effet, que leurspères traitaient les faux prophètes."
27 But I say to you who are listening: Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you.	27 "Mais je vous le dis, à vous qui m'écoutez: Aimez vos ennemis, faites du bien à ceux qui voushaïssent,
28 Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who slander you.	28 bénissez ceux qui vous maudissent, priez pour ceux qui vous diffament.
29 And to him who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your coat, do not withhold even your tunic.	29 A qui te frappe sur une joue, présente encore l'autre; à qui t'enlève ton manteau, ne refuse pas tatunique.
30 But distribute to all who ask of you. And do not ask again of him who takes away what is yours.	30 A quiconque te demande, donne, et à qui t'enlève ton bien ne le réclame pas.
31 And exactly as you would want people to treat you, treat them also the same.	31 Ce que vous voulez que les hommes fassent pour vous, faites-le pour eux pareillement.
32 And if you love those who love you, what credit is due to you? For even sinners love those who love them.	32 Que si vous aimez ceux qui vous aiment, quel gré vous en saura-t-on? Car même les pécheurs aimentceux qui les aiment.
33 And if you will do good to those who do good to you, what credit is due to you? Indeed, even sinners behave this way.	33 Et si vous faites du bien à ceux qui vous en font, quel gré vous en saura-t-on? Même les pécheurs enfont autant.
34 And if you will loan to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is due to you? For even sinners lend to sinners, in order to receive the same in return.	34 Et si vous prêtez à ceux dont vous espérez recevoir, quel gré vous en saura-t-on? Même des pécheursprêtent à des pécheurs afin de recevoir l'équivalent.
35 So truly, love your enemies. Do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return. And then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and to the wicked.	35 Au contraire, aimez vos ennemis, faites du bien et prêtez sans rien attendre en retour. Votrerécompense alors sera grande, et vous serez les fils du Très-Haut, car il est bon, Lui, pour les ingrats et lesméchants.
36 Therefore, be merciful, just as your Father is also merciful.	36 "Montrez-vous compatissants, comme votre Père est compatissant.
37 Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.	37 Ne jugez pas, et vous ne serez pas jugés; ne condamnez pas, et vous ne serez pas condamnés; remettez,et il vous sera remis.
38 Give, and it will be given to you: a good measure, pressed down and shaken together and overflowing, they will place upon your lap. Certainly, the same measure that you use to measure out, will be used to measure back to you again.”	38 Donnez, et l'on vous donnera; c'est une bonne mesure, tassée, secouée, débordante, qu'on versera dansvotre sein; car de la mesure dont vous mesurez on mesurera pour vous en retour."
39 Now he told them another comparison: “How can the blind lead the blind? Would they not both fall into a pit?	39 Il leur dit encore une parabole: "Un aveugle peut-il guider un aveugle? Ne tomberont-ils pas tous lesdeux dans un trou?
40 The disciple is not above his teacher. But each one will be perfected, if he is like his teacher.	40 Le disciple n'est pas au-dessus du maître; tout disciple accompli sera comme son maître.
41 And why do you see the straw that is in your brother’s eye, while the log that is in your own eye, you do not consider?	41 Qu'as-tu à regarder la paille qui est dans l'oeil de ton frère? Et la poutre qui est dans ton oeil à toi, tu nela remarques pas!
42 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, allow me to remove the straw from your eye,’ while you yourself do not see the log in your own eye? Hypocrite, first remove the log from your own eye, and then will you see clearly, so that you may lead out the straw from your brother’s eye.	42 Comment peux-tu dire à ton frère: Frère, laisse-moi ôter la paille qui est dans ton oeil, toi qui ne voispas la poutre qui est dans ton oeil? Hypocrite, ôte d'abord la poutre de ton oeil; et alors tu verras clair pour ôter lapaille qui est dans l'oeil de ton frère.
43 For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor does an evil tree produce good fruit.	43 "Il n'y a pas de bon arbre qui produise un fruit gâté, ni inversement d'arbre gâté qui produise un bonfruit.
44 For each and every tree is known by its fruit. For they do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather the grape from the bramble bush.	44 Chaque arbre en effet se reconnaît à son propre fruit; on ne cueille pas de figues sur des épines, on nevendange pas non plus de raisin sur des ronces.
45 A good man, from the good storehouse of his heart, offers what is good. And an evil man, from the evil storehouse, offers what is evil. For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.	45 L'homme bon, du bon trésor de son coeur, tire ce qui est bon, et celui qui est mauvais, de son mauvaisfond, tire ce qui est mauvais; car c'est du trop-plein du coeur que parle sa bouche.
46 But why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I say?	46 "Pourquoi m'appelez-vous Seigneur, Seigneur, et ne faites-vous pas ce que je dis?
47 Anyone who comes to me, and listens to my words, and does them: I will reveal to you what he is like.	47 "Quiconque vient à moi, écoute mes paroles et les met en pratique, je vais vous montrer à qui il estcomparable.
48 He is like a man building a house, who has dug deep and has laid the foundation upon the rock. Then, when the floodwaters came, the river was rushing against that house, and it was not able to move it. For it was founded upon the rock.	48 Il est comparable à un homme qui, bâtissant une maison, a creusé, creusé profond et posé lesfondations sur le roc. La crue survenant, le torrent s'est rué sur cette maison, mais il n'a pu l'ébranler, parcequ'elle était bien bâtie.
49 But whoever hears and does not do: he is like a man building his house upon the soil, without a foundation. The river rushed against it, and it soon fell down, and the ruin of that house was great.”	49 Mais celui au contraire qui a écouté et n'a pas mis en pratique est comparable à un homme qui auraitbâti sa maison à même le sol, sans fondations. Le torrent s'est rué sur elle, et aussitôt elle s'est écroulée; et ledésastre survenu à cette maison a été grand!"
