1 And Pharisees and Sadducees approached him to test him, and they asked him to show them a sign from heaven.	1 Και προσελθοντες οι Φαρισαιοι και οι Σαδδουκαιοι, πειραζοντες αυτον εζητησαν να δειξη εις αυτους σημειον εκ του ουρανου.
2 But he responded by saying to them: “When evening arrives, you say, ‘It will be calm, for the sky is red,’	2 Ο δε αποκριθεις ειπε προς αυτους? Οταν γεινη εσπερα, λεγετε? Καλωσυνη? διοτι κοκκινιζει ο ουρανος?
3 and in the morning, ‘Today there will be a storm, for the sky is red and gloomy.’ So then, you know how to judge the appearance of the sky, but you are unable to know the signs of the times?	3 και το πρωι? Σημερον χειμων? διοτι κοκκινιζει σκυθρωπαζων ο ουρανος. Υποκριται, το μεν προσωπον του ουρανου εξευρετε να διακρινητε, τα δε σημεια των καιρων δεν δυνασθε;
4 An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign. And a sign shall not be given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And leaving them behind, he went away.	4 Γενεα πονηρα και μοιχαλις σημειον ζητει, και σημειον δεν θελει δοθη εις αυτην ειμη το σημειον Ιωνα του προφητου. Και αφησας αυτους ανεχωρησε.
5 And when his disciples went across the sea, they forgot to bring bread.	5 Και ελθοντες οι μαθηται αυτου εις το περαν, ελησμονησαν να λαβωσιν αρτους.
6 And he said to them, “Consider and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”	6 Ο δε Ιησους ειπε προς αυτους? Βλεπετε και προσεχετε απο της ζυμης των Φαρισαιων και Σαδδουκαιων.
7 But they were thinking within themselves, saying, “It is because we have not brought bread.”	7 Και εκεινοι διελογιζοντο εν εαυτοις, λεγοντες οτι αρτους δεν ελαβομεν.
8 Then Jesus, knowing this, said: “Why do you consider within yourselves, O little in faith, that it is because you have no bread?	8 Νοησας δε ο Ιησους, ειπε προς αυτους? Τι διαλογιζεσθε εν εαυτοις, ολιγοπιστοι, οτι αρτους δεν ελαβετε;
9 Do you not yet understand, nor remember, the five loaves among the five thousand men, and how many containers you took up?	9 ετι δεν καταλαμβανετε, ουδε ενθυμεισθε τους πεντε αρτους των πεντακισχιλιων και ποσους κοφινους ελαβετε;
10 Or the seven loaves among the four thousand men, and how many baskets you took up?	10 ουδε τους επτα αρτους των τετρακισχιλιων και ποσας σπυριδας ελαβετε;
11 Why do you not understand that it was not because of bread that I said to you: Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees?”	11 πως δεν καταλαμβανετε οτι περι αρτου δεν σας ειπον να προσεχητε απο της ζυμης των Φαρισαιων και Σαδδουκαιων;
12 Then they understood that he was not saying that they should beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.	12 Τοτε ενοησαν, οτι δεν ειπε να προσεχωσιν απο της ζυμης του αρτου, αλλ' απο της διδαχης των Φαρισαιων και Σαδδουκαιων.
13 Then Jesus went into parts of Caesarea Philippi. And he questioned his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that the Son of man is?”	13 Οτε δε ηλθεν ο Ιησους εις τα μερη της Καισαρειας της Φιλιππου, ηρωτα τους μαθητας αυτου, λεγων? Τινα με λεγουσιν οι ανθρωποι οτι ειμαι εγω ο Υιος του ανθρωπου;
14 And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, and others say Elijah, still others say Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”	14 Οι δε ειπον? Αλλοι μεν Ιωαννην τον Βαπτιστην, αλλοι δε Ηλιαν και αλλοι Ιερεμιαν η ενα των προφητων.
15 Jesus said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”	15 Λεγει προς αυτους? Αλλα σεις τινα με λεγετε οτι ειμαι;
16 Simon Peter responded by saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”	16 Και αποκριθεις ο Σιμων Πετρος ειπε? Συ εισαι ο Χριστος ο Υιος του Θεου του ζωντος.
17 And in response, Jesus said to him: “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father, who is in heaven.	17 Και αποκριθεις ο Ιησους ειπε προς αυτον? Μακαριος εισαι, Σιμων, υιε του Ιωνα, διοτι σαρξ και αιμα δεν σοι απεκαλυψε τουτο, αλλ' ο Πατηρ μου ο εν τοις ουρανοις.
18 And I say to you, that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.	18 Και εγω δε σοι λεγω οτι συ εισαι Πετρος, και επι ταυτης της πετρας θελω οικοδομησει την εκκλησιαν μου, και πυλαι αδου δεν θελουσιν ισχυσει κατ' αυτης.
19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound, even in heaven. And whatever you shall release on earth shall be released, even in heaven.”	19 Και θελω σοι δωσει τα κλειδια της βασιλειας των ουρανων, και ο, τι εαν δεσης επι της γης, θελει εισθαι δεδεμενον εν τοις ουρανοις, και ο, τι εαν λυσης επι της γης, θελει εισθαι λελυμενον εν τοις ουρανοις.
20 Then he instructed his disciples that they should tell no one that he is Jesus the Christ.	20 Τοτε παρηγγειλεν εις τους μαθητας αυτου να μη ειπωσι προς μηδενα οτι αυτος ειναι Ιησους ο Χριστος.
21 From that time, Jesus began to reveal to his disciples that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and to suffer much from the elders and the scribes and the leaders of the priests, and to be killed, and to rise again on the third day.	21 Απο τοτε ηρχισεν ο Ιησους να δεικνυη εις τους μαθητας αυτου οτι πρεπει να υπαγη εις Ιεροσολυμα και να παθη πολλα απο των πρεσβυτερων και αρχιερεων και γραμματεων, και να θανατωθη, και την τριτην ημεραν να αναστηθη.
22 And Peter, taking him aside, began to rebuke him, saying, “Lord, may it be far from you; this shall not happen to you.”	22 Και παραλαβων αυτον ο Πετρος κατ' ιδιαν ηρχισε να επιτιμα αυτον, λεγων? Γενου ιλεως εις σεαυτον, Κυριε? δεν θελει γεινει τουτο εις σε.
23 And turning away, Jesus said to Peter: “Get behind me, Satan; you are an obstacle to me. For you are not behaving according to what is of God, but according to what is of men.”	23 Εκεινος δε στραφεις ειπε προς τον Πετρον? Υπαγε οπισω μου, Σατανα? σκανδαλον μου εισαι? διοτι δεν φρονεις τα του Θεου, αλλα τα των ανθρωπων.
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “If anyone is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.	24 Τοτε ο Ιησους ειπε προς τους μαθητας αυτου? Εαν τις θελη να ελθη οπισω μου, ας απαρνηθη εαυτον και ας σηκωση τον σταυρον αυτου και ας με ακολουθη.
25 For whoever would save his life, will lose it. But whoever will have lost his life for my sake, shall find it.	25 Διοτι οστις θελει να σωση την ζωην αυτου, θελει απολεσει αυτην? και οστις απολεση την ζωην αυτου ενεκεν εμου, θελει ευρει αυτην.
26 For how does it benefit a man, if he gains the whole world, yet truly suffers damage to his soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?	26 Επειδη τι ωφελειται ανθρωπος εαν τον κοσμον ολον κερδηση, την δε ψυχην αυτου ζημιωθη; η τι θελει δωσει ανθρωπος εις ανταλλαγην της ψυχης αυτου;
27 For the Son of man will arrive in the glory of his Father, with his Angels. And then he will repay each one according to his works.	27 Διοτι μελλει ο Υιος του ανθρωπου να ελθη εν τη δοξη του Πατρος αυτου μετα των αγγελων αυτου, και τοτε θελει αποδωσει εις εκαστον κατα την πραξιν αυτου.
28 Amen I say to you, there are some among those standing here, who shall not taste death, until they see the Son of man arriving in his reign.”	28 Αληθως σας λεγω, ειναι τινες των εδω ισταμενων, οιτινες δεν θελουσι γευθη θανατον, εωσου ιδωσι τον Υιον του ανθρωπου ερχομενον εν τη βασιλεια αυτου.
