Zechariah 2

1 And I lifted up my eyes, and I saw, and behold, a man, and in his hand was a measuring line.	1 Then, raising my eyes, I had a vision. It was this: There were four horns.
2 And I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, so that I may see how great its width and how great its length may be.”	2 I said to the angel who was talking to me, 'What are these?' He said to me, 'These are the horns whichscattered Judah (Israel) and Jerusalem.'
3 And behold, the angel, who had been speaking with me, departed, and another angel went out to meet him.	3 Yahweh then showed me four smiths.
4 And he said to him: Hurry, speak to this young man, saying: Jerusalem will be inhabited without walls, because of the multitude of men and beasts of burden in its midst.	4 And I said, 'What are these coming to do?' He said to me, '(Those horns scattered Judah so completelythat no one dared to raise his head; but) these have come to terrify them, to throw down the horns of the nationswho raised their horns over the land of Judah to scatter it.'
5 And I will be to it, says the Lord, a wall of fire all around. And in glory, I will be in its midst.	5 Then, raising my eyes, I had a vision. There was a man with a measuring line in his hand.
6 O, O flee from the land of the North, says the Lord, for I have scattered you into the four winds of heaven, says the Lord.	6 I asked him, 'Where are you going?' He said, 'To measure Jerusalem, to calculate her width and length.'
7 O Zion, flee, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.	7 And then, while the angel who was talking to me walked away, another angel came out to meet him.
8 For thus says the Lord of hosts: After the glory, he has sent me to the Gentiles, which have despoiled you. For he who touches you, touches the pupil of my eye.	8 He said to him, 'Run, and tell that young man this, "Jerusalem is to remain unwal ed, because of the great number of men and cattle inside.
9 For behold, I lift up my hand over them, and they will be a prey to those who had served them. And you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me.	9 For I -- Yahweh declares -- shal be a wall of fire al round her and I shal be the Glory within her." '
10 Sing praise and rejoice, daughter of Zion. For behold, I approach, and I will dwell in your midst, says the Lord.	10 Look out! Look out! Flee from the land of the north -- Yahweh declares- for I have scattered you to thefour winds of heaven -- Yahweh declares.
11 And many nations will be joined to the Lord in that day, and they will be my people, and I will dwell in your midst. And you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.	11 Look out! Make your escape, Zion, now living with the daughter of Babylon!
12 And the Lord will possess his portion, Judah, in the sanctified land, and still he will single out Jerusalem.	12 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, since the Glory commissioned me, about the nations who plunderedyou, 'Whoever touches you touches the apple of my eye.
13 Let all flesh be silent before the face of the Lord: for he has arisen from his holy dwelling place.	13 Now look, I shal wave my hand over them and they wil be plundered by those whom they haveenslaved.' Then you wil know that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me!
	14 Sing, rejoice, daughter of Zion, for now I am coming to live among you -Yahweh declares!
	15 And on that day many nations will be converted to Yahweh. Yes, they wil become his people, and theywil live among you. Then you wil know that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me to you!
	16 Yahweh wil take possession of Judah, his portion in the Holy Land, and again make Jerusalem hischoice.
	17 Let al people be silent before Yahweh, now that he is stirring from his holy Dwel ing!
