1 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:	1 וידבר יהוה אל משה ואל אהרן לאמר
2 “This is the ritual that the Lord has appointed for a victim. Instruct the sons of Israel, so that they may bring to you a red cow of full maturity, in which there is no blemish, and which has not carried a yoke.	2 זאת חקת התורה אשר צוה יהוה לאמר דבר אל בני ישראל ויקחו אליך פרה אדמה תמימה אשר אין בה מום אשר לא עלה עליה על
3 And you shall deliver it to Eleazar the priest, who, having led it out beyond the camp, shall immolate it in the sight of all.	3 ונתתם אתה אל אלעזר הכהן והוציא אתה אל מחוץ למחנה ושחט אתה לפניו
4 And dipping his finger in its blood, he shall sprinkle it seven times, opposite the door of the tabernacle.	4 ולקח אלעזר הכהן מדמה באצבעו והזה אל נכח פני אהל מועד מדמה שבע פעמים
5 And he shall burn it, while all are watching, delivering into the flame, not only its skin and flesh, but also the blood and dung.	5 ושרף את הפרה לעיניו את ערה ואת בשרה ואת דמה על פרשה ישרף
6 Likewise, cedar wood, and hyssop, and twice-dyed scarlet he shall cast into the flame, by which the cow is consumed.	6 ולקח הכהן עץ ארז ואזוב ושני תולעת והשליך אל תוך שרפת הפרה
7 And then finally, having washed his garments and his body, he shall enter into the camp, and he shall be deeply stained until evening.	7 וכבס בגדיו הכהן ורחץ בשרו במים ואחר יבוא אל המחנה וטמא הכהן עד הערב
8 Then he also who had burned it shall wash his garments and his body, and he shall be unclean until evening.	8 והשרף אתה יכבס בגדיו במים ורחץ בשרו במים וטמא עד הערב
9 Then a clean man shall gather the ashes of the cow, and he shall pour them out beyond the camp, in a very pure place, so that they may be preserved for the multitude of the sons of Israel, and for the water of aspersion, because the cow was burned for sin.	9 ואסף איש טהור את אפר הפרה והניח מחוץ למחנה במקום טהור והיתה לעדת בני ישראל למשמרת למי נדה חטאת הוא
10 And when he who had carried the ashes of the cow will have washed his garments, he shall be unclean until evening. The sons of Israel, and the newcomers who live among them, shall have this as a holy and perpetual right.	10 וכבס האסף את אפר הפרה את בגדיו וטמא עד הערב והיתה לבני ישראל ולגר הגר בתוכם לחקת עולם
11 Whoever touches the corpse of a man, and is, because of this, unclean for seven days,	11 הנגע במת לכל נפש אדם וטמא שבעת ימים
12 shall be sprinkled from this water on the third and seventh days, and so shall he be cleansed. But if he was not sprinkled on the third day, he is not able to be cleansed on the seventh.	12 הוא יתחטא בו ביום השלישי וביום השביעי יטהר ואם לא יתחטא ביום השלישי וביום השביעי לא יטהר
13 Anyone who will have touched the dead body of a human life, and who has not been sprinkled with this mixture, pollutes the tabernacle of the Lord, and he shall perish out of Israel. For not having been sprinkled with the water of expiation, he shall be unclean, and his filth shall remain upon him.	13 כל הנגע במת בנפש האדם אשר ימות ולא יתחטא את משכן יהוה טמא ונכרתה הנפש ההוא מישראל כי מי נדה לא זרק עליו טמא יהיה עוד טמאתו בו
14 This is the law of a man who dies in a tent. All who enter into his tent, and all the vessels which are there, shall be polluted for seven days.	14 זאת התורה אדם כי ימות באהל כל הבא אל האהל וכל אשר באהל יטמא שבעת ימים
15 The vessel that has no cover or binding over it shall be unclean.	15 וכל כלי פתוח אשר אין צמיד פתיל עליו טמא הוא
16 If anyone in the field will have touched the corpse of a man, who was killed or who died on his own, or his bone, or his grave, he shall be unclean for seven days.	16 וכל אשר יגע על פני השדה בחלל חרב או במת או בעצם אדם או בקבר יטמא שבעת ימים
17 And they shall take some of the ashes from the burning and the sin offering, and they shall pour living waters over them into a vessel.	17 ולקחו לטמא מעפר שרפת החטאת ונתן עליו מים חיים אל כלי
18 And into it a man who is clean shall dip hyssop, and he shall sprinkle from it the entire tent, and all its articles, and the men who were polluted by means of contact.	18 ולקח אזוב וטבל במים איש טהור והזה על האהל ועל כל הכלים ועל הנפשות אשר היו שם ועל הנגע בעצם או בחלל או במת או בקבר
19 And so, in this manner, what is clean shall purify what is unclean, on the third and seventh days. And have been expiated on the seventh day, he shall wash both himself and his garments, and he shall be unclean until evening.	19 והזה הטהר על הטמא ביום השלישי וביום השביעי וחטאו ביום השביעי וכבס בגדיו ורחץ במים וטהר בערב
20 If anyone has not been expiated by this ritual, his soul shall perish from the midst of the Church. For he has polluted the Sanctuary of the Lord, and he has not been sprinkled with purifying waters.	20 ואיש אשר יטמא ולא יתחטא ונכרתה הנפש ההוא מתוך הקהל כי את מקדש יהוה טמא מי נדה לא זרק עליו טמא הוא
21 This precept shall be an everlasting ordinance. Likewise, the one who has sprinkled the waters shall wash his garments. All who will have touched the waters of expiation shall be unclean until evening.	21 והיתה להם לחקת עולם ומזה מי הנדה יכבס בגדיו והנגע במי הנדה יטמא עד הערב
22 Whatever has been touched by something unclean will itself be made unclean. And the soul who touches any of these things shall become unclean until evening.”	22 וכל אשר יגע בו הטמא יטמא והנפש הנגעת תטמא עד הערב
