Amos 3

1 Listen to the word which the Lord has spoken about you, sons of Israel, concerning the whole family that I led out of the land of Egypt, saying:	1 ακουσατε τον λογον τουτον ον ελαλησεν κυριος εφ' υμας οικος ισραηλ και κατα πασης φυλης ης ανηγαγον εκ γης αιγυπτου λεγων
2 I have known only you in such a way, out of all the families of the earth. For this reason, I will visit upon you all your iniquities.	2 πλην υμας εγνων εκ πασων φυλων της γης δια τουτο εκδικησω εφ' υμας πασας τας αμαρτιας υμων
3 Will two walk together, unless they have agreed to do so?	3 ει πορευσονται δυο επι το αυτο καθολου εαν μη γνωρισωσιν εαυτους
4 Will a lion roar in the forest, unless he has prey? Will the lion’s young cry out from his den, unless he has taken something?	4 ει ερευξεται λεων εκ του δρυμου αυτου θηραν ουκ εχων ει δωσει σκυμνος φωνην αυτου εκ της μανδρας αυτου καθολου εαν μη αρπαση τι
5 Will a bird fall into a snare on the ground, if there is no bird-catcher? Will a snare be taken away from the ground, before it has caught something?	5 ει πεσειται ορνεον επι την γην ανευ ιξευτου ει σχασθησεται παγις επι της γης ανευ του συλλαβειν τι
6 Will the trumpet sound in a city, and the people not become frightened? Will there be disaster in a city, which the Lord has not done?	6 ει φωνησει σαλπιγξ εν πολει και λαος ου πτοηθησεται ει εσται κακια εν πολει ην κυριος ουκ εποιησεν
7 For the Lord God does not fulfill his word, unless he has revealed his secret to his servants the prophets.	7 διοτι ου μη ποιηση κυριος ο θεος πραγμα εαν μη αποκαλυψη παιδειαν αυτου προς τους δουλους αυτου τους προφητας
8 The lion will roar, who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken, who will not prophesy?	8 λεων ερευξεται και τις ου φοβηθησεται κυριος ο θεος ελαλησεν και τις ου προφητευσει
9 Let it be heard in the buildings of Ashdod and in the buildings of the land of Egypt, and say: Gather together across the mountains of Samaria, and see the many absurdities in its midst, and those who are suffering false accusations in its inner most places.	9 απαγγειλατε χωραις εν ασσυριοις και επι τας χωρας της αιγυπτου και ειπατε συναχθητε επι το ορος σαμαρειας και ιδετε θαυμαστα πολλα εν μεσω αυτης και την καταδυναστειαν την εν αυτη
10 And they do not know how to make it right, says the Lord, storing up iniquity and plunder in their buildings.	10 και ουκ εγνω α εσται εναντιον αυτης λεγει κυριος οι θησαυριζοντες αδικιαν και ταλαιπωριαν εν ταις χωραις αυτων
11 Because of these things, thus says the Lord God: The land will be encircled and squeezed together. And your strength will be drawn away from you, and your buildings will be torn apart.	11 δια τουτο ταδε λεγει κυριος ο θεος τυρος κυκλοθεν η γη σου ερημωθησεται και καταξει εκ σου ισχυν σου και διαρπαγησονται αι χωραι σου
12 Thus says the Lord: Just as if a shepherd had rescued two legs from the mouth of a lion, or the tip of an ear, so also will the sons of Israel be rescued, who dwell in the sick bed of Samaria, and in the cot of Damascus.	12 ταδε λεγει κυριος ον τροπον οταν εκσπαση ο ποιμην εκ στοματος του λεοντος δυο σκελη η λοβον ωτιου ουτως εκσπασθησονται οι υιοι ισραηλ οι κατοικουντες εν σαμαρεια κατεναντι φυλης και εν δαμασκω ιερεις
13 Listen and give testimony in the house of Jacob, says the Lord God of hosts:	13 ακουσατε και επιμαρτυρασθε τω οικω ιακωβ λεγει κυριος ο θεος ο παντοκρατωρ
14 that in the day, when I will begin to visit the betrayals of Israel, I will visit upon him and upon the altars of Bethel. And the horns of the altars will be cut off and will fall to the ground.	14 διοτι εν τη ημερα οταν εκδικω ασεβειας του ισραηλ επ' αυτον και εκδικησω επι τα θυσιαστηρια βαιθηλ και κατασκαφησεται τα κερατα του θυσιαστηριου και πεσουνται επι την γην
15 And I will strike the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory will perish, and many buildings will be torn apart, says the Lord.	15 συγχεω και παταξω τον οικον τον περιπτερον επι τον οικον τον θερινον και απολουνται οικοι ελεφαντινοι και προστεθησονται οικοι ετεροι πολλοι λεγει κυριος
