“But at that time Michael will rise up, the great leader, who stands up for the sons of your people. And a time will come, such as has not been from the time that nations began, even until that time. And, at that time, your people will be saved, all who will be found written in the book.1 "En ce temps se lèvera Michel, le grand Prince qui se tient auprès des enfants de ton peuple. Ce seraun temps d'angoisse tel qu'il n'y en aura pas eu jusqu'alors depuis que nation existe. En ce temps-là, ton peupleéchappera: tous ceux qui se trouveront inscrits dans le Livre.
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awaken: some to everlasting life, and others to a reproach that they will always see.2 "Un grand nombre de ceux qui dorment au pays de la poussière s'éveilleront, les uns pour la vieéternelle, les autres pour l'opprobre, pour l'horreur éternelle.
But those who have taught will shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who instruct many towards justice, like the stars for unending eternity.3 Les doctes resplendiront comme la splendeur du firmament, et ceux qui ont enseigné la justice à ungrand nombre, comme les étoiles, pour toute l'éternité.
But you, Daniel, close the message and seal the book, until the established time. Many will pass through, and knowledge will be increased.”4 Toi, Daniel, serre ces paroles et scelle le livre jusqu'au temps de la Fin. Beaucoup erreront de-ci de-là, et l'iniquité grandira."
And I, Daniel, looked, and behold, similarly two others stood up, one over here, on the bank of the river, and the other over there, on the other bank of the river.5 Je regardai, moi Daniel, et voici: deux autres se tenaient debout, de part et d'autre du fleuve.
And I said to the man, who was clothed in linen, who stood over the waters of the river, “How long will it be until the end of these wonders?”6 L'un dit à l'homme vêtu de lin, qui était en amont du fleuve: "Jusques à quand, le temps des chosesinouïes?"
And I heard the man, who was clothed in linen, who stood over the waters of the river, when he had lifted his right hand and his left hand up to heaven, and had sworn by He who lives forever, that it would be for a time, and times, and half a time. And when the dispersion of the hand of the holy people is completed, all these things will be completed.7 J'entendis l'homme vêtu de lin, qui se tenait en amont du fleuve: il leva la main droite et la maingauche vers le ciel et attesta par l'Eternel Vivant: "Pour un temps, des temps et un demi-temps, et toutes ceschoses s'achèveront quand sera achevé l'écrasement de la force du Peuple saint."
And I heard and did not understand. And I said, “My lord, what will be after these things?”8 J'écoutai sans comprendre. Puis je dis: "Mon Seigneur, quel sera cet achèvement?"
And he said, “Go, Daniel, for the words are closed and sealed until the predetermined time.9 Il dit: "Va, Daniel; ces paroles sont closes et scellées jusqu'au temps de la Fin.
Many will be chosen and purified, and, as if by fire, they will be tested, and the impious will act impiously, and none of the impious will understand, yet the teachers will understand.10 Beaucoup seront lavés, blanchis et purifiés; les méchants feront le mal, les méchants necomprendront point; les doctes comprendront.
And from the time when the continual sacrifice will be taken away and the abomination of desolation will be set up, there will be one thousand two hundred ninety days.11 A compter du moment où sera aboli le sacrifice perpétuel et posée l'abomination de la désolation:1.290 jours.
Blessed is he who waits and reaches until one thousand three hundred thirty-five days.12 Heureux celui qui tiendra et qui atteindra 1.335 jours.
But you, go, until the predetermined time, and you will rest and will stand in your allotted place at the end of days.13 Pour toi, va, prends ton repos; et tu te lèveras pour ta part à la fin des jours."
