Jeremiah 33

1 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah a second time, while he was still confined to the atrium of the prison, saying:	1 E la parola del Signore fu indirizzata la seconda volta a Geremia, mentre egli era ancora rinchiuso nel cortile della prigione, dicendo:
2 “Thus says the Lord, who will prepare, and form, and accomplish it; the Lord is his name.	2 Così ha detto il Signore, che fa questa cosa; il Signore, che la forma, per istabilirla; il cui Nome è: Il Signore:
3 Cry out to me and I will heed you. And I will announce to you great things, things that are certain, though you do not know them.	3 Grida a me, ed io ti risponderò, e ti dichiarerò cose grandi, e riserbate, che tu non sai.
4 For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, to the houses of this city, and to the houses of the king of Judah, which have been destroyed, and to the fortifications, and to the sword	4 Perciocchè, così ha detto il Signore Iddio d’Israele, delle case di questa città, e delle case del re di Giuda, che sono state diroccate per li terrapieni, e per le macchine;
5 of those who have arrived, so that they may fight with the Chaldeans, and so that they may have their fill of the dead bodies of the men whom I have struck down in my fury and in my indignation, concealing my face from this city, because of all their wickedness:	5 le quali sono state impiegate per combattere co’ Caldei, e per empierle di corpi morti d’uomini; perciocchè io li ho percossi nella mia ira, e nel mio cruccio; e perchè io ho nascosta la mia faccia da questa città, per tutta la lor malvagità:
6 Behold, I will lead over them scars and health, and I will cure them. And I will reveal to them an invocation of peace and truth.	6 Ecco, io ristorerò, e rifarò questa città e riparerò queste case, e farò loro apparire abbondanza di pace, e di stabilità.
7 And I will convert the turning away of Judah and the turning away of Jerusalem. And I will build them up, just as from the beginning.	7 E ritrarrò di cattività Giuda ed Israele, e li riedificherò come erano prima;
8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, by which they have sinned against me. And I will forgive all their iniquities, by which they have offended against me and have despised me.	8 e li purgherò di tutta la loro iniquità, per la quale hanno peccato contro a me; e perdonerò loro tutte le loro iniquità, per le quali hanno peccato contro a me; e per le quali hanno misfatto contro a me.
9 And this will be for me: a name, and a joy, and a praise, and an exultation, among all the nations of the earth who will hear about all the good things that I will accomplish for them. And they will be afraid and troubled over all these good things, and over all the peace, that I will accomplish for them.	9 E questa città mi sarà in nome di gioia, in lode, e in gloria appresso tutte le nazioni della terra, che udiranno tutto il bene che io farò loro; e saranno spaventate, e tremeranno per tutto il bene, e per tutta la pace, della quale io la farò godere
10 Thus says the Lord: Still shall there be heard in this place, (which you say is desolate, because there is neither man nor beast,) and in the cities of Judah and outside of Jerusalem, (which are desolate, without man, and without an inhabitant and without cattle,)	10 Così ha detto il Signore: In questo luogo, del quale voi dite: Egli è deserto, e non vi è più nè uomo, nè bestia; nelle città di Giuda, e nelle piazze di Gerusalemme, che sono desolate, senza che vi sia più nè uomo, nè abitante, nè bestia;
11 the voice of gladness and the voice of rejoicing, the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who will say: ‘Confess to the Lord of hosts! For the Lord is good! For his mercy is eternal!’ and the voice of those fulfilling their vows in the house of the Lord. For I will lead back the turning away of the land, just as from the beginning, says the Lord.”	11 ancora sarà udita voce di gioia, e voce di allegrezza; voce di sposo, e voce di sposa; voce di persone che diranno: Celebrate il Signor degli eserciti; perciocchè il Signore è buono; perciocchè la sua benignità è in eterno; porteranno offerte di lode alla Casa del Signore; perciocchè io trarrò di cattività il paese, e lo rimetterò nello stato ch’era prima, ha detto il Signore.
12 Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Still shall there be in this place, (which is desolate without man and without beast,) and in all of its cities: a habitation for the shepherds giving rest to their flocks.	12 Così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti: In questo luogo, che è deserto, e dove non vi sono più nè uomini, nè bestie; e in tutte le sue città, vi saranno ancora mandre di pastori, che vi faranno posar le gregge.
13 For even in the cities on the mountains, and in the cities on the plains, and in the cities that are toward the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and all around Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, still shall the flocks travel by the hand of him who numbers them, says the Lord.	13 Nelle città del monte, e nelle città del piano, e nelle città del Mezzodì, e nel paese di Beniamino, e ne’ luoghi circonvicini di Gerusalemme, e nelle città di Giuda, le pecore passeranno ancora sotto la mano di colui che le conta, da detto il Signore.
14 Behold, the days are approaching, says the Lord, when I will fulfill the good word that I have spoken to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.	14 Ecco, i giorni vengono, dice il Signore, che io metterò ad effetto la buona parola, che io ho pronunziata alla casa d’Israele, ed alla casa di Giuda.
15 In those days and at that time, I will cause the seedling of justice to spring up from David, and he will accomplish judgment and justice upon the earth.	15 In que’ giorni, e in quel tempo, io farò germogliare a Davide il Germoglio di giustizia, il quale farà giudicio e giustizia nella terra.
16 In those days, Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will live in confidence. And this is the name that they will call him: ‘The Lord, our Just One.’	16 In que’ giorni Giuda sarà salvato, e Gerusalemme abiterà in sicurtà; e questo è il nome, del quale ella si chiamerà: IL SIGNORE È LA NOSTRA GIUSTIZIA
17 For thus says the Lord: There shall not cease to be a man from David sitting upon the throne of the house of Israel.	17 Perciocchè, così ha detto il Signore: Giammai non verrà meno a Davide, uomo che segga sopra il trono della casa d’Israele;
18 And there shall not cease to be a man from the priests and from the Levites before my face, who offers holocausts, and burns sacrifices, and kills victims, for days without end.”	18 ed a’ sacerdoti Leviti non verrà giammai meno nel mio cospetto, uomo che offerisca olocausto, e che faccia profumo d’offerta, e che faccia sacrificio tutti i giorni.
19 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying:	19 La parola del Signore fu ancora indirizzata a Geremia, dicendo:
20 “Thus says the Lord: If my covenant with the day is able to be nullified, or my covenant with the night, such that there would be no day and no night in their time,	20 Così ha detto il Signore: Se voi potete annullare il mio patto intorno al giorno, e il mio patto intorno alla notte, sì che il giorno e la notte non sieno più al tempo loro;
21 then, too, my covenant with David, my servant, may be nullified, such that he would not have a son who reigns upon his throne, with both the Levites and the priests as my ministers.	21 ei si potrà altresì annullare il mio patto con Davide, mio servitore, sì ch’egli non abbia più figliuolo che regni sopra il suo trono; e co’ sacerdoti Leviti miei ministri.
22 Just as the stars of heaven are not able to be numbered, and the sand of the sea is not able to be measured, so will I multiply the offspring of David, my servant, and the Levites, my ministers.”	22 Perciocchè, come l’esercito del cielo non si può annoverare, e la rena del mare non si può misurare; così accrescerò la progenie di Davide, mio servitore, e i Leviti che fanno il servigio.
23 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying:	23 La parola del Signore fu ancora indirizzata a Geremia, dicendo:
24 “Have you not seen what this people has spoken? They say: ‘The two families which the Lord had chosen have been rejected.’ And so they have despised my people, as if they were no longer a nation in their sight.	24 Non hai tu posta mente a ciò che questo popolo ha pronunziato, dicendo: Il Signore ha riprovate le due nazioni, ch’egli avea elette? laonde sprezzano il mio popolo, come se non dovesse mai più esser nazione nel lor cospetto.
25 Thus says the Lord: If I have not established my covenant with the day and the night, and my laws over heaven and earth,	25 Così ha detto il Signore: Se io non ho stabilito il mio patto intorno al giorno, ed alla notte, e gli statuti del cielo, e della terra;
26 then truly I will also cast aside the offspring of Jacob, and of David, my servant, so that I do not take up any of his offspring to be leaders over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will lead back their turning way, and I will take pity on them.”	26 io altresì riproverò la progenie di Giacobbe, e di Davide, mio servitore; per non prender più del suo legnaggio persone che signoreggino sopra la progenie di Abrahamo, d’Isacco, e di Giacobbe; perciocchè io li ritrarrò di cattività, e avrò pietà di loro
