Psalms 94

1 The Praise of a Canticle, of David himself. Come, let us exult in the Lord. Let us shout joyfully to God, our Savior.	1 Dio vendicatore, Signore,Dio vendicatore, risplendi!
2 Let us anticipate his presence with confession, and let us sing joyfully to him with psalms.	2 Àlzati, giudice della terra,rendi ai superbi quello che si meritano!
3 For the Lord is a great God and a great King over all gods.	3 Fino a quando i malvagi, Signore,fino a quando i malvagi trionferanno?
4 For in his hand are all the limits of the earth, and the heights of the mountains are his.	4 Sparleranno, diranno insolenze,si vanteranno tutti i malfattori?
5 For the sea is his, and he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.	5 Calpestano il tuo popolo, Signore,opprimono la tua eredità.
6 Come, let us adore and fall prostrate, and let us weep before the Lord who made us.	6 Uccidono la vedova e il forestiero,massacrano gli orfani.
7 For he is the Lord our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand.	7 E dicono: «Il Signore non vede,il Dio di Giacobbe non intende».
8 If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts:	8 Intendete, ignoranti del popolo:stolti, quando diventerete saggi?
9 as in the provocation, according to the day of temptation in the wilderness, where your fathers tempted me; they tested me, though they had seen my works.	9 Chi ha formato l’orecchio, forse non sente?Chi ha plasmato l’occhio, forse non vede?
10 For forty years, I was offended by that generation, and I said: These have always strayed in heart.	10 Colui che castiga le genti, forse non punisce,lui che insegna all’uomo il sapere?
11 And these have not known my ways. So I swore in my wrath: They shall not enter into my rest.	11 Il Signore conosce i pensieri dell’uomo:non sono che un soffio.
	12 Beato l’uomo che tu castighi, Signore,e a cui insegni la tua legge,
	13 per dargli riposo nei giorni di sventura,finché al malvagio sia scavata la fossa;
	14 poiché il Signore non respinge il suo popoloe non abbandona la sua eredità,
	15 il giudizio ritornerà a essere giustoe lo seguiranno tutti i retti di cuore.
	16 Chi sorgerà per me contro i malvagi?Chi si alzerà con me contro i malfattori?
	17 Se il Signore non fosse stato il mio aiuto,in breve avrei abitato nel regno del silenzio.
	18 Quando dicevo: «Il mio piede vacilla»,la tua fedeltà, Signore, mi ha sostenuto.
	19 Nel mio intimo, fra molte preoccupazioni,il tuo conforto mi ha allietato.
	20 Può essere tuo alleato un tribunale iniquo,che in nome della legge provoca oppressioni?
	21 Si avventano contro la vita del giustoe condannano il sangue innocente.
	22 Ma il Signore è il mio baluardo,roccia del mio rifugio è il mio Dio.
	23 Su di loro farà ricadere la loro malizia,li annienterà per la loro perfidia,li annienterà il Signore, nostro Dio.
