Psalms 142

1 A Psalm of David, when his son Absalom was pursuing him. O Lord, hear my prayer. Incline your ear to my supplication in your truth. Heed me according to your justice.	1 (Salmo di David quando era perseguitato da Assalonne suo figlio). O Signore, ascolta la mia preghiera, porgi rorecchio alle mie suppliche per la tua fedeltà, esau­discimi per la tua giustizia.
2 And do not enter into judgment with your servant. For all the living will not be justified in your sight.	2 Non entrare in giudizio col tuo servo, perchè nessun vivente può aver ragione davanti a te.
3 For the enemy has pursued my soul. He has lowered my life to the earth. He has stationed me in darkness, like the dead of ages past.	3 Il nemico ha perseguitata l'anima mia, ha umiliata nella polvere la mia vita, mi ha cacciato nelletenebre, come i morti da gran tempo.
4 And my spirit has been in anguish over me. My heart within me has been disturbed.	4 Il mio spirito è in grande an­sietà sulla mia sorte, e il mio cuo­re trema dentro di me.
5 I have called to mind the days of antiquity. I have been meditating on all your works. I have meditated on the workings of your hands.	5 Io vò ricordando i tempi an­tichi, ripenso tutte le tue operee medito i fatti da te compiuti.
6 I have extended my hands to you. My soul is like a land without water before you.	6 Io stendo a te le mie mani,l'anima mia anela a te come ari­da terra.
7 O Lord, heed me quickly. My spirit has grown faint. Do not turn your face away from me, lest I become like those who descend into the pit.	7 Signore, non tardare a esaudirmi. Il mio spirito vien meno, non rivolgere da me la tua faccia, perchè sarei simile a quelli che scendon nella fossa.
8 Make me hear your mercy in the morning. For I have hoped in you. Make known to me the way that I should walk. For I have lifted up my soul to you.	8 Fammi sentire fin dal mattino la tua misericordia, perchè io in te ho riposte le mie speranze. Fammi conoscere la via che devo battere, perchè a te ho sollevata l'anima mia.
9 O Lord, rescue me from my enemies. I have fled to you.	9 Signore. salvami dai miei nemici: in te mi son rifugiato.
10 Teach me to do your will. For you are my God. Your good Spirit will lead me into the righteous land.	10 Insegnami a fare la tua volontà, perchè tu sei il mio Dio. Il tuo spirito buono mi guidi per la retta via.
11 For the sake of your name, O Lord, you will revive me in your fairness. You will lead my soul out of tribulation.	11 Pel nome tuo, o Signore, ridonami la vita nella tua giustizia. Togli dalla tribolazione l'anima mia.
12 And you will scatter my enemies in your mercy. And you will destroy all those who afflict my soul. For I am your servant.	12 E nella tua misericordia disperdi i miei nemici. Disperdi tutti quelli che affliggono l'anima mia. perchè io sono tuo servo.
