Truly, from hyacinth and purple, vermillion and fine linen, he made the vestments with which Aaron was clothed when he ministered in the holy places, just as the Lord instructed Moses.1 From the violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials, they made the liturgical vestments forservice in the sanctuary. They made the sacred vestments for Aaron, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.
And so he made an ephod of gold, hyacinth, and purple, and twice-dyed scarlet, and fine twisted linen,2 They made the ephod of gold, of violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials and finely wovenlinen.
wrought with embroidery. And he cut thin strips of gold and drew them into threads, so that they could be twisted into the weave of the first colors.3 They beat gold into thin plates and cut these into threads to work into the violet-purple, red-purple andcrimson materials and the fine linen by needlework.
And he made two edges, coupled to one another at the top of both sides,4 For the ephod they made shoulder-straps which were joined to it at its two edges.
and a wide belt from the same colors, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.5 The waistband on the ephod to hold it in position, was of a piece with it and of the same workmanship:of gold, violet-purple, red-purple and finely woven linen, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.
He also prepared two onyx stones, set and enclosed in gold, and engraved with the skill of a jeweler, with the names of the sons of Israel.6 They worked the cornelians, mounted in gold setting, and engraved, like an engraved seal, with thenames of the sons of Israel,
And he set them in the sides of the ephod, as a memorial to the sons of Israel, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.7 and put the stones on the shoulder-straps of the ephod, to commemorate the sons of Israel, asYahweh had ordered Moses.
He also made a breastplate, wrought with embroidery, according to the work of the ephod, from gold, hyacinth, purple, and twice-dyed scarlet, and fine twisted linen:8 They made the breastplate of the same embroidered work as the ephod: of gold, violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials and finely woven linen.
with four equal sides, doubled, of the measure of the palm of a hand.9 It was square and doubled over, a span in length and a span in width.
And he set four rows of gems in it. In the first row was a sardius stone, a topaz, an emerald;10 In it they set four rows of stones: a sard, a topaz and an emerald, for the first row;
in the second was a garnet, a sapphire, and a jasper;11 for the second row, a garnet, a sapphire and a diamond;
in the third was a zircon, an agate, and an amethyst;12 for the third row, a hyacinth, a ruby and an amethyst;
in the fourth was a chrysolite, an onyx, and a beryl, surrounded and enclosed in gold by their rows.13 and for the fourth row, a beryl, a cornelian and a jasper: mounted in gold settings,
And these twelve stones were engraved with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel, each one with a single name.14 the stones corresponding to the names of the sons of Israel, twelve like their names, engraved likeseals, each with the name of one of the twelve tribes.
They also made, in the breastplate, little chains linked to one another, from the purest gold,15 For the breastplate they made chains of pure gold twisted like cords,
and two hooks, and the same number of gold rings. Moreover, they set the rings at both sides of the breastplate,16 and they made two gold rosettes and two gold rings, putting the two rings on the two outside edgesof the breastplate
from which two golden chains would hang, which they connected with the hooks that projected from the corners of the ephod.17 and fastening the two gold cords to the two rings on the outside edges of the breastplate.
These were both in front and in back so that they met one another, and so that the ephod and the breastplate were woven together,18 The other two ends of the cords they fastened to the two rosettes, putting these on the shoulder-straps of the ephod, on the front.
being fastened to the wide belt and strongly coupled with rings, to which a hyacinth band was joined, lest they should shake loose and be moved away from one another, just as the Lord instructed Moses.19 They also made two gold rings and put them on the two outside edges of the breastplate, on theinner side, against the ephod;
They also made the tunic of the ephod entirely from hyacinth,20 and they made two more gold rings and put them low down on the front of the two shoulder-straps ofthe ephod, close to the join, above the waistband of the ephod.
with the head in the upper part at the middle, and a woven edge all around the head.21 They secured the pectoral by a violet-purple cord passed through its rings and those of the ephod, sothat the pectoral would sit above the waistband and not come apart from the ephod, as Yahweh had orderedMoses.
Then, at the feet below, they also made pomegranates from hyacinth, purple, vermillion, and fine twisted linen,22 They made the robe of the ephod woven entirely of violet-purple.
and little bells from the purest gold, which they set between the pomegranates at the very bottom of the tunic all around.23 The opening in the centre of the robe was like the neck of a coat of mail; round the opening was aborder, so that it would not get torn.
So then, the high priest approached, adorned with gold bell and pomegranate, when he performed his ministry, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.24 On the lower hem of the robe, they made pomegranates of violet-purple, red-purple and crimson andfinely woven linen,
They also made fine linen tunics with woven work, for Aaron and his sons,25 and made bells of pure gold, putting the bel s between the pomegranates al round the lower hem ofthe robe:
and headdresses with their little crowns of fine linen,26 alternately, a bel and then a pomegranate, al round the lower hem of the robe of office, as Yahwehhad ordered Moses.
and also linen undergarments of fine linen.27 They made the tunics of finely woven linen for Aaron and his sons,
Truly, they also made a wide band of fine twisted linen, hyacinth, purple, as well as vermillion, twice-dyed, with skillful embroidery, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.28 the turban of fine linen, the head-dresses of fine linen, the breeches of finely woven linen,
They also made the plate of sacred veneration from the purest gold, and they wrote on it, with the skill of a jeweler: “Holy to the Lord.”29 the waistbands of finely woven linen embroidered with violet-purple, red-purple and crimson, asYahweh had ordered Moses.
And they fastened it to the headdress with a hyacinth band, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.30 They also made the flower -- the symbol of holy consecration -- of pure gold and on it, like anengraved seal, they engraved, 'Consecrated to Yahweh'.
And so all the work of the tabernacle and of the covering of the testimony was completed. And the sons of Israel did all that the Lord had instructed Moses.31 They put it on a violet-purple cord, to fasten it high up on the turban, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.
And they offered the tabernacle, and the covering, and all of the articles: the rings, the panels, the bars, the columns and bases,32 So all the work for the Dwelling, for the Tent of Meeting, was completed. They had done everythingexactly as Yahweh had ordered Moses.
the cover of the skins of rams, dyed red, and the other cover of violet skins,33 They then brought Moses the Dwel ing, the Tent and al its accessories: its clasps, frames, crossbars,poles and sockets;
the veil, the ark, the bars, the propitiatory,34 the cover of rams' skins dyed red, the cover of fine leather and the screening curtain;
the table, with its vessels and the bread of the presence,35 the ark of the Testimony and its shafts, and the mercy-seat;
the lampstand, the lamps, and their utensils with the oil,36 the table, all its accessories and the loaves of permanent offering;
the altar of gold, and the ointment, and the incense of aromatics,37 the lamp-stand of pure gold, its lamps -- the array of lamps -- and all its accessories, and the oil forthe light;
and the tent at the entrance of the tabernacle,38 the golden altar, the anointing oil, the fragrant incense and the screen for the entrance to the tent;
the altar of brass, the grating, the bars, and all of its vessels, the washtub with its base, the hangings of the atrium, and the columns with their bases,39 the bronze altar and its bronze grating, its shafts and all its accessories; the basin and its stand;
the hanging at the entrance of the atrium, and their little cords and pegs. Nothing was lacking of the articles that were commanded to be made for the ministry of the tabernacle and for the covering of the covenant.40 the curtaining for the court, its poles, its sockets, and the screen for the gateway to the court, itscords, its pegs and al the accessories for the service of the Dwel ing, for the Tent of Meeting;
Likewise, the vestments, which the priests, namely, Aaron and his sons, make use of use in the Sanctuary,41 the liturgical vestments for officiating in the sanctuary -- the sacred vestments for Aaron the priest,and the vestments for his sons -- for the priestly functions.
the sons of Israel offered, just as the Lord had instructed.42 The Israelites had done al the work exactly as Yahweh had ordered Moses.
After this, when Moses saw that everything was completed, he blessed them.43 Moses inspected all the work: they had indeed done it as Yahweh had ordered; and Moses blessedthem.
