Tobit 13

1 And so, the elder Tobit, opening his mouth, blessed the Lord, and he said: “O Lord, you are great in eternity and your kingdom is with all ages.	1 E il vecchio Tobia aperse la bocca benedicendo il Signore, e disse: Grande se' tu in eterno, o Signore, e il regno tuo è per tutti i secoli:
2 For you scourge, and you save. You lead down to the grave, and you bring up again. And there is no one who can escape from your hand.	2 Perocchè tu flagelli, e salvi, e conduci al sepolcro, e risusciti, e nissun alla mano tua può sottrarsi.
3 Confess to the Lord, O sons of Israel, and praise him in the sight of the nations.	3 Date lode al Signore voi, figliuoli d'Israele, e celebrate lui nel cospetto delle nazioni:
4 For, indeed, he has dispersed you among the Gentiles, who are ignorant of him, that you may proclaim his wonders, and that you may cause them to know that there is no other almighty God, except him.	4 Perocchè per questo vi ha dispersi tralle genti, le quali non lo conoscono, affinchè voi raccontiate le sue meraviglie, e facciate loro conoscere, come altro Dio onnipotente non havvi fuori di lui.
5 He has chastised us because of our iniquities, and he will save us because of his mercy.	5 Egli ci ha gastigati per le nostre iniquità, ed egli ci salverà per sua misericordia.
6 Therefore, look upon what he has done for us, and, with fear and trembling, confess to him. And extol the King of all ages with your works.	6 Ponetemente adunque a quel, ch'egli ha fatto con noi, e con timore, e tremore date a lui laude, e colle opere vostre onorate il Re de' secoli.
7 But as for me, I will confess him in the land of my captivity. For he has revealed his majesty within a sinful nation.	7 E io nella terra di mio servaggio darò lode a lui, perchè egli la Maestà sua ha fatto risplendere sopra una nazion peccatrice.
8 And so, be converted, you sinners, and do justice in the presence of God, believing that he will act in his mercy toward you.	8 Convertitevi adunque, o peccatori, e siate giusti dinanzi a Dio, e crediate, che egli userà con voi di sua misericordia.
9 But I and my soul will rejoice in him.	9 Ma io, e l'anima mia in lui avremo letizia.
10 Bless the Lord, all you his elect. Keep days of rejoicing, and confess to him.	10 Benedite il Signore voi eletti suoi; sollennizzate i giorni di allegrezza, e date a lui lode.
11 O Jerusalem, the city of God, the Lord has chastised you for the works of your hands.	11 Gerusalemme, città di Dio, il Signore ti gastigò per ragione delle opere di tue mani.
12 Confess to the Lord with your good things, and bless the God of all ages, so that he may rebuild his tabernacle in you, and he may recall all the captives to you, and you may be glad in all ages and forever.	12 Dà tu lode al Signore pei beni tuoi, e benedici il Dio de' secoli, affinchè in te egli ristauri il suo tabernacolo, e ritorni a te tutti gli schiavi, e tu sii nel gaudio per tutti i secoli.
13 You will shine with a splendid light, and all the ends of the earth will adore by you.	13 Tu splenderai di luce sfolgoreggiante, e per tutti gli estremi confini della terra tu sarai adorata.
14 Nations from far away will come to you, bringing gifts. And in you, they shall adore the Lord, and they will hold your land in sanctification.	14 A te verranno le nazioni rimote, e porteranno dei doni, e adoreranno in te il Signore, e la tua terra avranno per santa.
15 For they will invoke the Great Name in you.	15 Perocchè dentro di te quelle invocheranno il nome grande.
16 Those who despise you will be cursed, and all those who blaspheme by you will be condemned, and those who build you up will be blessed.	16 Quei, che ti sprezzeranno, saran maledetti, e saran condannati tutti quei, che diran male di te, e quelli, che ti edificheranno, saranno benedetti.
17 But you will rejoice in your sons, because they will all be blessed, and they will be gathered together for the Lord.	17 E tu avrai letizia da' tuoi figliuoli, perocché saranno tutti benedetti, e si riuniranno col Signore.
18 Blessed are all those who love you and who rejoice in your peace.	18 Beati tutti quei, che ti amano, e fanno festa per la tua pace.
19 Bless the Lord, O my soul, for the Lord our God has freed Jerusalem, his city, from every one of her tribulations.	19 Anima mia, benedici il Signore, perchè ha liberata Gerusalemme la sua città da tutte le fue afflizioni, il Signore Dio nostro.
20 Happy will I be, if any of my offspring will be left to see the brightness of Jerusalem.	20 Beato me, se un avanzo della mia stirpe potrà vedere lo splendore di Gerusalemme.
21 The gates of Jerusalem will be built from sapphire and emerald, and all its walls will be surrounded with precious stones.	21 Di zaffiri,e di smeraldi saran formate le porte di Gerusalemme, e tutto il recinto delle sue mura di pietre preziose.
22 All its streets will be paved with stones, white and clean. And ‘Alleluia’ will be sung throughout its neighborhoods.	22 Di pietre candide, e pure saran lastricate tutte le piazze di lei, e nelle sue contrade canterassi alleluja.
23 Blessed be the Lord, who has exalted it, and may he reign over it, forever and ever. Amen.”	23 Benedetto il Signore, che la ha esaltata, ed egli regni sopra di lei pe secoli de' secoli. Così sia.
