1 Also, there were the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel. For indeed, he was his firstborn, but when he had violated the bed of his father, his right as firstborn was given to the sons of Joseph, the son of Israel, and he was not reputed as firstborn.	1 Figliuolo di Ruben primogenito d'Israele (perocché egli fu suo primogenito; ma avendo violato il talamo del padre suo, la sua primogenitura fu data ai figliuoli di Giuseppe figliuolo d'Israele, ed egli non fu considerato come primogenito.

For indeed, they possessed a great number of cattle in the land of Gilead.	9 E abitò anche verso l'oriente sino all'entrar del deserto, e al fiume Eufrate: perocché eglino possedevano gran quantità di bestiami nella terra di Galaad.
10 Then, in the days of Saul, they battled against the Hagarites and put them to death. And they lived in place of them, in their dwellings, throughout the entire region that looks to the east of Gilead.	10 E regnando Saul, fecer guerra agli Agarei, e gli sconfissero, e occuparon le tende, nelle quali questi abitavano in tutto il paese, che è all'oriente di Galaad.
11 Truly, the sons of Gad lived in the opposite region from them, in the land of Bashan, as far as Salecah:	11 E i figliuoli di Gad abitavano dirimpetto a loro nella terra di Basan sino a Selcha.

16 And they lived in Gilead, and in Bashan and its towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, as far as the borders.	16 E abitarono in Galaad, e in Basan, e ne' villaggi all'intorno, e in tutti i borghi di Saron sino ai confini.
17 All these were numbered in the days of Jotham, the king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the king of Israel:	17 Tutti questi furono noverati a tempo di Joathan re di Giuda, e a tempo di Geroboam re d'Israele.
18 the sons of Reuben, and of Gad, and the one half tribe of Manasseh, men of war, carrying shields and swords, and bending the bow, and trained for battle, forty-four thousand and seven hundred sixty, advancing to the fight.	18 I figliuoli di Ruben, e di Gad, e della mezza tribù di Manasse, uomini guerrieri, che portavano scudo, e spada, e maneggiavan l'arco, sperimentati alla guerra, erano quaranta quattro mila settecento sessanta, quando andavano a combattere.
19 They struggled against the Hagarites, yet truly the Jetureans, and Naphish, and Nodab offered assistance to them.	19 Ebbero guerra cogli Agarei, a' quali prestaron soccorso gl'Iturei con que' di Naphis, e di Nodab.
20 And the Hagarites were delivered into their hands, and all who were with them. For they called upon God while they did battle. And he heeded them, because they had trusted in him.	20 Ed essi sconfissero gli Agarei con tutti quelli, che erano in loro aiuto: perchè nel combattere invocarono Dio, ed ei gli esaudì, perchè avean creduto in lui.
21 And they seized all that they possessed, of camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred fifty thousand, and of donkeys two thousand, and of men one hundred thousand lives.	21 E si impadronirono di tutto il loro, di cinquanta mila cammelli, di dugento cinquanta mila pecore, e di due mila asini, e di centomila prigionieri.
22 And many fell down wounded. For it was a war of the Lord. And they lived in place of them, until the transmigration.	22 E molti morirono delle loro ferite: perocché fu grande battaglia. Ed egli no abitarono nel luogo di quelli sino alla trasmigrazione.
23 Also, the sons of the one half tribe of Manasseh possessed the land, from the parts of Bashan as far as Baal, Hermon, and Sanir, and Mount Hermon. For certainly, their number was immense.	23 Parimente i figliuoli della mezza tribù di Manasse occuparono le terre (che sono) dai confini di Basan sino a Baal-Hermon, e Sunir, e la montagna di Hermon; perchè erano in gran numero.
24 And these were leaders of the house of their kindred: Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, very valiant and powerful men, and renown leaders in their families.	24 E i principi delle loro famiglie furono Epher, e Jesi, ed Eliei, ed Eznel, e Jeremia, e Odoia, e Jediel, uomini fortissimi, e potenti, e capi di gran rinomanza nelle loro famiglie.
25 But they abandoned the God of their fathers, and they fornicated after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God took away before them.	25 Ma eglino abbandonarono il Dio de' padri loro, e peccarono per amore degli dei di quelle nazioni, le quali erano state distrutte da Dio alla loro venuta.
26 And so the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul, the king of the Assyrians, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser, the king of Assur. And he took away Reuben, and Gad, and the one half tribe of Manasseh. And he led them to Halah, and to Habor, and to Hara, and to the river of Gozan, even to this day.	26 Ma il Dio d'Israele mosse l'animo di Phul re degli Assiri, e di Thelgathphalnasar re di Assur, e trasportò Ruben, e Gad, e la mezza tribù di Manasse a Lahela, e ad Habor, e ad Ara sul fiume Gozan, dove sono anche in oggi.
