2 Kings 16

1 In the seventeenth year of Pekah, the son of Remaliah: Ahaz, the son of Jotham, reigned as king of Judah.	1 El decimoséptimo año de Pécaj, hijo de Remalías, inició su reinado Ajaz, hijo de Jotam, rey de Judá.
2 Ahaz was twenty years old when he had begun to reign, and he reigned for sixteen years in Jerusalem. He did not do what was pleasing in the sight of the Lord, his God, as his father David did.	2 Ajaz tenía veinte años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó dieciséis años en Jerusalén. 3 Instead, he walked in the way of the kings of Israel. 4 Also, he was immolating victims, and burning incense, in the high places, and on the hills, and under every leafy tree.	4 Ofreció sacrificios y quemó incienso en los lugares altos, sobre las colinas y bajo todo árbol frondoso.
5 Then Rezin, the king of Syria, and Pekah, the son of Remaliah, the king of Israel, ascended to do battle against Jerusalem. And they besieged Ahaz, but they were not able to overcome him.	5 Entonces Resín, rey de Aram, y Pécaj, hijo de Remalías, rey de Israel, subieron a combatir contra Jerusalén. 6 At that time, Rezin, the king of Syria, restored Elath to Syria, and he expelled the Judeans from Elath. 8 And when he had collected the silver and the gold that could be found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasuries of the king, he sent it as a gift to the king of the Assyrians.	8 Ajaz tomó la plata y el oro que había en la Casa del Señor y en los tesoros de la casa del rey, y los envió como presente al rey de Asiria.
9 And he agreed to his will. For the king of the Assyrians ascended against Damascus, and he laid waste to it. And he carried away its inhabitants to Cyrene. 10 And king Ahaz traveled to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser, the king of the Assyrians. And when he had seen the altar of Damascus, king Ahaz sent to Uriah, the priest, its pattern and likeness, according to all of its work.	10 El rey Ajaz fue a Damasco, al encuentro de Tiglat Piléser, rey de Asiria, y vio el altar que había en Damasco. 11 And Uriah, the priest, constructed an altar in accord with all that king Ahaz had commanded from Damascus. Uriah, the priest, did so, until king Ahaz arrived from Damascus.	11 El sacerdote Urías construyó el altar: lo hizo de acuerdo con todas las indicaciones que el rey Ajaz envió desde Damasco, antes de que llegara de allí.
12 And when the king had arrived from Damascus, he saw the altar, and he venerated it. And he went up and immolated holocausts, with his own sacrifice.	12 Cuando llegó a Damasco, el rey observó el altar. Después se acercó y subió hasta él,
13 And he offered libations, and he poured out the blood of the peace offerings, which he had offered, upon the altar.	13 hizo arder su holocausto y su oblación, derramó su libación y roció el altar con la sangre de sus sacrificios de comunión.
14 But the altar of brass, which was before the Lord, he took away from the face of the temple, and from the place of the altar, and from the place of the temple of the Lord. And he positioned it at the side of the altar, toward the north.	14 En cuanto al altar de bronce que estaba delante del Señor, lo retiró del frente de la Casa, del lugar que ocupaba entre el y la Casa del Señor, y lo puso al lado del nuevo altar, hacia el norte.
15 Also, king Ahaz instructed Uriah, the priest, saying: “Upon the great altar, offer the morning holocaust, and the evening sacrifice, and the holocaust of the king, and his sacrifice, and the holocaust of the entire people of the land, and their sacrifices. But their libations, and all the blood of the holocaust, and all the blood of the victim, you shall pour out upon it. Then truly, the altar of brass shall be prepared for use at my will.”	15 Luego el rey Ajaz dio esta orden al sacerdote Urías: «Sobre el altar grande harás arder el holocausto de la mañana y la oblación de la tarde, el holocausto del rey y su oblación, el holocausto de todo el pueblo del país, su oblación y sus libaciones; también lo rociarás con toda la sangre de los sacrificios. Del altar de bronce, me ocuparé yo».
16 And so Uriah, the priest, acted in accord with all that king Ahaz had instructed to him.	16 El sacerdote Urías hizo todo lo que le había ordenado el rey Ajaz.
17 Then king Ahaz took away the engraved bases, and the basin that was upon them. And he took down the sea from the bronze oxen, which were holding it up. And he positioned it upon a layer of pavement stone.	17 Este desarmó los paneles de las bases y retiró de encima de ellas los recipientes para el agua; hizo bajar el Mar de bronce de encima de los bueyes que lo sostenían y lo puso sobre un pavimento de piedras.
18 Also, the canopy for the Sabbath, which he had built in the temple, and the exterior entrance of the king, he converted into the temple of the Lord, because of the king of the Assyrians.	18 Por deferencia al rey de Asiria, suprimió en la Casa del Señor el pórtico del Sábado, que se había construido en el interior, y la entrada exterior reservada al rey.
19 Now the rest of the words of Ahaz that he did, have these not been written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Judah?	19 El resto de los hechos de Ajaz, todo lo que él hizo, ¿No está escrito en el libro de los Anales de los reyes de Judá?
20 And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and he was buried with them in the city of David. And Hezekiah, his son, reigned in his place.	20 Ajaz se fue a descansar con sus padres, y fue sepultado con ellos en la Ciudad de David. Su hijo Ezequías reinó en lugar de él.
