1 These are the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and of the sons who were born to them after the great flood.	1 ואלה תולדת בני נח שם חם ויפת ויולדו להם בנים אחר המבול
2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.	2 בני יפת גמר ומגוג ומדי ויון ותבל ומשך ותירס
3 And then the sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.	3 ובני גמר אשכנז וריפת ותגרמה
4 And the sons of Javan were Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.	4 ובני יון אלישה ותרשיש כתים ודדנים
5 The islands of the Gentiles were divided by these into their regions, each one according to his tongue, and their families in their nations.	5 מאלה נפרדו איי הגוים בארצתם איש ללשנו למשפחתם בגויהם
6 And the Sons of Ham were Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan.	6 ובני חם כוש ומצרים ופוט וכנען
7 And the sons of Cush were Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dadan.	7 ובני כוש סבא וחוילה וסבתה ורעמה וסבתכא ובני רעמה שבא ודדן
8 And then Cush conceived Nimrod; he began to be powerful on the earth.	8 וכוש ילד את נמרד הוא החל להיות גבר בארץ
9 And he was an able hunter before the Lord. From this, a proverb came forth: ‘Just like Nimrod, an able hunter before the Lord.’	9 הוא היה גבר ציד לפני יהוה על כן יאמר כנמרד גבור ציד לפני יהוה
10 And so, the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Erech, and Accad, and Chalanne, in the land of Shinar.	10 ותהי ראשית ממלכתו בבל וארך ואכד וכלנה בארץ שנער
11 From that land, Assur came forth, and he built Nineveh, and the streets of the city, and Calah,	11 מן הארץ ההוא יצא אשור ויבן את נינוה ואת רחבת עיר ואת כלח
12 and also Resen, between Nineveh and Calah. This is a great city.	12 ואת רסן בין נינוה ובין כלח הוא העיר הגדלה
13 And truly, Mizraim conceived Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, Naphtuhim,	13 ומצרים ילד את לודים ואת ענמים ואת להבים ואת נפתחים
14 and Pathrusim, and Casluhim, from whom came forth the Philistines and the Caphtorim.	14 ואת פתרסים ואת כסלחים אשר יצאו משם פלשתים ואת כפתרים
15 Then Canaan conceived Sidon his firstborn, the Hittite,	15 וכנען ילד את צידן בכרו ואת חת
16 and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, the Girgashite,	16 ואת היבוסי ואת האמרי ואת הגרגשי
17 the Hivite, and the Arkite: the Sinite,	17 ואת החוי ואת הערקי ואת הסיני
18 and the Arvadian, the Samarite, and the Hamathite. And after this, the peoples of the Canaanites became widespread.	18 ואת הארודי ואת הצמרי ואת החמתי ואחר נפצו משפחות הכנעני
19 And the borders of Chanaan went, as one travels, from Sidon to Gerar, even to Gaza, until one enters Sodom and Gomorrah, and from Admah and Zeboiim, even to Lesa.	19 ויהי גבול הכנעני מצידן באכה גררה עד עזה באכה סדמה ועמרה ואדמה וצבים עד לשע
20 These are the sons of Ham in their kindred, and tongues, and generations, and lands, and nations.	20 אלה בני חם למשפחתם ללשנתם בארצתם בגויהם
21 Likewise, from Shem, the father of all the sons of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born.	21 ולשם ילד גם הוא אבי כל בני עבר אחי יפת הגדול
22 The sons of Shem were Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.	22 בני שם עילם ואשור וארפכשד ולוד וארם
23 The sons of Aram were Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.	23 ובני ארם עוץ וחול וגתר ומש
24 But truly, Arphaxad conceived Shelah, from whom was born Eber.	24 וארפכשד ילד את שלח ושלח ילד את עבר
25 And to Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth became divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan.	25 ולעבר ילד שני בנים שם האחד פלג כי בימיו נפלגה הארץ ושם אחיו יקטן
26 This Joktan conceived Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, Jerah	26 ויקטן ילד את אלמודד ואת שלף ואת חצרמות ואת ירח
27 and Hadoram, and Uzal and Diklah,	27 ואת הדורם ואת אוזל ואת דקלה
28 and Obal and Abimael, Sheba	28 ואת עובל ואת אבימאל ואת שבא
29 and Ophir, and Havilah and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.	29 ואת אופר ואת חוילה ואת יובב כל אלה בני יקטן
30 And their habitation extended from Messa, as one sojourns, even to Sephar, a mountain in the east.	30 ויהי מושבם ממשא באכה ספרה הר הקדם
31 These are the sons of Shem according to their kindred, and tongues, and the regions within their nations.	31 אלה בני שם למשפחתם ללשנתם בארצתם לגויהם
32 These are the families of Noah, according to their peoples and nations. The nations became divided according to these, on the earth after the great flood.	32 אלה משפחת בני נח לתולדתם בגויהם ומאלה נפרדו הגוים בארץ אחר המבול
