Zechariah 9

1 An oracle: The word of the LORD is upon the land of Hadrach, and Damascus is its resting place, For the cities of Aram are the LORD'S, as are all the tribes of Israel,	1 - Parola del Signore a carico della terra di Adrac e di Damasco sua sede, perchè il Signore tiene d'occhio l'uomo e tutte le tribù di Israele;
2 Hamath also, on its border, Tyre too, and Sidon, however wise they be.	2 e anche di Emat sua confinante e di Tiro e Sidone, perchè ostentano troppa sapienza.
3 Tyre built herself a stronghold, and heaped up silver like dust, and gold like the mire of the streets.	3 E Tiro ha edificato i suoi ripari e ha ammucchiato l'argento come la terra, e l'oro come il fango delle piazze.
4 Lo, the LORD will strip her of her possessions, and smite her power on the sea, and she shall be devoured by fire.	4 Ecco che il Signore se ne impadronirà e abbatterà la sua marittima potenza, ed essa sarà divorata dal fuoco.
5 Ashkelon shall see it and be afraid; Gaza also: she shall be in great anguish; Ekron, too, for her hope shall come to nought. The king shall disappear from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited,	5 Ascalon vedrà ciò con terrore: e Gaza con gran sbigottimento: e Accaron, perchè la sua speranza è svanita. E Gaza rimarrà senza re e Ascalon non sarà più abitata.
6 and the baseborn shall occupy Ashdod. I will destroy the pride of the Philistine	6 E in Azoto abiterà lo straniero e farà perire la superbia dei Filistei.
7 and take from his mouth his bloody meat, and his abominations from between his teeth: He also shall become a remnant for our God, and shall be like a family in Judah, and Ekron shall be like the Jebusites.	7 E toglierò via dalla bocca del Filisteo il suo sangue, e le abominazioni dai suoi denti; e resterà anch'egli pel nostro Dio, e sarà come un condottiero in Giuda; e Accaron avrà la sorte del Jebuseo.
8 I will encamp by my house as a guard that none may pass to and fro; No oppressor shall pass over them again, for now I have regard for their affliction.	8 E circonderò la mia casa con quelli della mia milizia che andranno e verranno, e non passerà più sopra di loro l'oppressore, perchè ora la guardo cogli occhi miei.
9 Rejoice heartily, O daughter Zion, shout for joy, O daughter Jerusalem! See, your king shall come to you; a just savior is he, Meek, and riding on an ass, on a colt, the foal of an ass.	9 Esulta grandemente, o figlio di Sion, giubila, o figlia di Gerusalemme: Ecco che viene a te il tuo Re, giusto e salvatore, egli è povero e cavalca sopra un'asina e su un piccolo asinello.
10 He shall banish the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem; The warrior's bow shall be banished, and he shall proclaim peace to the nations. His dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.	10 Io disperderò i cocchi da Efraim e i cavalli da Gerusalemme e l'arco di guerra sarà abolito; Egli annunzierà la pace alle genti e il suo dominio sarà da un mare all'altro, e dal fiume fino alle estremità della terra.
11 As for you, for the blood of your covenant with me, I will bring forth your prisoners from the dungeon.	11 Tu anche, mediante il sangue della tua alleanza, hai rimandato liberi i tuoi prigionieri dalla fossa dove non c'è acqua.
12 In the return to the fortress of the waiting prisoners, This very day, I will return you double for your exile.	12 Ritornate alle vostre mura, o prigionieri della speranza, oggi stesso io ti annunzio che ti renderò il doppio.
13 For I will bend Judah as my bow, I will arm myself with Ephraim; I will arouse your sons, O Zion, (against your sons, O Yavan,) and I will use you as a warrior's sword.	13 Perchè io brandirò Giuda come un arco; impugnerò Efraim e contro i figli tuoi, o Grecia, susciterò i tuoi figli, o Sion, e ti renderò come la spada dei forti.
14 The LORD shall appear over them, and his arrow shall shoot forth as lightning; The LORD God shall sound the trumpet, and come in a storm from the south.	14 E sopra di loro si vedrà il Signore Dio, e i suoi dardi scoccheranno come la folgore, e il Signore Dio squillerà la tromba e s'avanzerà fra il turbine che viene da mezzogiorno.
15 The LORD of hosts shall be a shield over them, they shall overcome sling stones and trample them underfoot; They shall drink blood like wine, till they are filled with it like libation bowls, like the corners of the altar.	15 E il Signore degli eserciti li proteggerà; ed essi consumeranno e calpesteranno i sassi della fionda, assaporando l'ebrezza come dal vino, ricolmi come coppe, come i corni dei pingui altari.
16 And the LORD, their God, shall save them on that day, his people, like a flock. For they are the jewels in a crown raised aloft over his land.	16 E il Signore Dio loro li salverà in quel giorno, come gregge del suo popolo; perchè si eleveranno come pietre sante nella sua terra.
17 For what wealth is theirs, and what beauty! grain that makes the youths flourish, and new wine, the maidens!	17 Quale è il suo bene e quale è il suo bello, se non il frumento degli eletti, il vino che fa germogliare le vergini?
