Amos 1

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 The words of Amos, a shepherd from Tekoa, which he received in vision concerning Israel, in the days of Uzziah, king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake:	1 Palabras de Amós, uno de los pastores de Técoa. Esto es lo que vio acerca de Israel en tiempos de Ozías, rey de Judá, y en tiempos de Jeroboam, hijo de Joás, rey de Israel, dos años antes del terremoto.
2 The LORD will roar from Zion, and from Jerusalem raise his voice: The pastures of the shepherds will languish, and the summit of Carmel wither.	2 El dijo: El Señor ruge desde Sión y desde Jerusalén hace oír su voz: los campos de pastoreo están desolados y se ha secado la cumbre del Carmelo.
3 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Damascus, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because they threshed Gilead with sledges of iron,	3 Así habla el Señor: Por tres crímenes de Damasco, y por cuatro, no revocaré mi sentencia. Porque trillaron a Galaad con trilladoras de hierro,
4 I will send fire upon the house of Hazael, to devour the castles of Ben-hadad.	4 yo enviaré fuego contra la casa de Jazael, y él consumirá los palacios de Ben Hadad;
5 I will break the bar of Damascus; I will root out those who live in the Valley of Aven, And the sceptered ruler of Beth-eden; the people of Aram shall be exiled to Kir, says the LORD.	5 haré saltar el cerrojo de Damasco, extirparé de Bicat Aven a los habitantes y de Bet Eden al que empuña el cetro, y el pueblo de Aram será deportado a Quir –dice el Señor.
6 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Gaza, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because they took captive whole groups to hand over to Edom,	6 Así habla el Señor: Por tres crímenes de Gaza, y por cuatro, no revocaré mi sentencia. Porque deportaron poblaciones enteras para entregarlas a Edom,
7 I will send fire upon the wall of Gaza, to devour her castles;	7 yo enviaré fuego contra los muros y de Gaza y él consumirá sus palacios;
8 I will root out those who live in Ashdod, and the sceptered ruler of Ashkelon; I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the last of the Philistines shall perish, says the Lord God.	8 extirparé de Asdod a los habitantes, y de Ascalón al que empuña el cetro; volveré mi mano contra Edom, y el resto de los filisteos perecerá, dice el Señor.
9 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Tyre, and for four I will not revoke my word; Because they delivered whole groups captive to Edom, and did not remember the pact of brotherhood,	9 Así habla el Señor: Por tres crímenes de Tiro, y por cuatro, no revocaré mi sentencia. Porque entregaron a Edom poblaciones enteras de cautivos, sin acordarse de una alianza entre hermanos,
10 I will send fire upon the wall of Tyre,to devour her castles.	10 yo enviaré fuego contra los muros de Tiro y él consumirá sus palacios.
11 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Edom, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because he pursued his brother with the sword, choking up all pity; Because he persisted in his anger and kept his wrath to the end,	11 Así habla el Señor: Por tres crímenes de Edom, y por cuatro, no revocaré mi sentencia. Porque persiguió a su hermano con la espada y ahogó todo sentimiento de piedad; porque conserva su enojo para siempre y mantiene incesantemente su furor,
12 I will send fire upon Teman, and it will devour the castles of Bozrah.	12 yo enviaré fuego contra Temán y él consumirá los palacios de Bosrá.
13 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of the Ammonites, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because they ripped open expectant mothers in Gilead, while extending their territory,	13 Así habla el Señor: Por tres crímenes de los amonitas, y por cuatro, no revocaré mi sentencia. Porque abrieron el vientre de las embarazadas de Galaad, a fin de ensanchar su propio territorio,
14 I will kindle a fire upon the wall of Rabbah, and it will devour her castles Amid clamor on the day of battle and stormwind in a time of tempest.	14 yo incendiaré los muros de Rabá y el fuego consumirá sus palacios, entre gritos de guerra, en un día de combate, entre la borrasca, en un día de tempestad;
15 Their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes with him, says the LORD.	15 y su rey irá al cautiverio, junto con todos sus oficiales, dice el Señor.
