Leviticus 17

1 The LORD said to Moses,	1 Господь сказав Мойсеєві:
2 "Speak to Aaron and his sons, as well as to all the Israelites, and tell them: This is what the LORD has commanded.	2 «Промов до Арона й до синів його і до всіх синів Ізраїля, і скажи їм: Ось що заповідав Господь:
3 Any Israelite who slaughters an ox or a sheep or a goat, whether in the camp or outside of it,	3 Хто б то не був із дому Ізраїля, що заріже чи вола, чи вівцю, чи козу в таборі, або хто заріже поза табором,
4 without first bringing it to the entrance of the meeting tent to present it as an offering to the LORD in front of his Dwelling, shall be judged guilty of bloodshed; and for this, such a man shall be cut off from among his people.	4 та не приведе його до входу в намет зборів, щоб принести в жертву Господеві перед храминою Господньою, той відповідатиме за пролиту кров; бо він пролив кров, і такий чоловік буде викорінений з-поміж свого люду.
5 Therefore, such sacrifices as they used to offer up in the open field the Israelites shall henceforth offer to the LORD, bringing them to the priest at the entrance of the meeting tent and sacrificing them there as peace offerings to the LORD.	5 Це для того, щоб сини Ізраїля ті жертви, які різали звичайно в чистому полі, приносили Господеві, до входу в намет зборів, священикові, та щоб жертвували їх як мирні жертви Господеві.
6 The priest shall splash the blood on the altar of the LORD at the entrance of the meeting tent and there burn the fat for an odor pleasing to the LORD.	6 Священик покропить кров’ю жертовник Госпо-день перед наметом зборів і воскурить тук як приємний запах на честь Господа.
7 No longer shall they offer their sacrifices to the satyrs to whom they used to render their wanton worship. This shall be an everlasting ordinance for them and their descendants.	7 Тож не приноситимуть більш своїх жертв козлоногим (ідолам), що за ними блудно ходили. Це буде віковічною установою для них і для їхніх поколінь.
8 "Tell them, therefore: Anyone, whether of the house of Israel or of the aliens residing among them, who offers a holocaust or sacrifice	8 Далі їм скажеш: Кожен чи з дому Ізраїля, чи з приходній, що перебуває між вами, як приноситиме всепалення або жертву,
9 without bringing it to the entrance of the meeting tent to offer it to the LORD, shall be cut off from his kinsmen.	9 і не принесе її до входу в намет зборів, щоб там жертвувати її Господеві, такий чоловік викоріниться з-поміж свого люду.
10 And if anyone, whether of the house of Israel or of the aliens residing among them, partakes of any blood, I will set myself against that one who partakes of blood and will cut him off from among his people.	10 Хто б то не був, чи з дому Ізраїля, чи з приходній, що пробувають між вами, що їстиме хоч яку б кров, — я повернусь проти того, що їстиме кров, і викоріню його з-поміж його людей;
11 Since the life of a living body is in its blood, I have made you put it on the altar, so that atonement may thereby be made for your own lives, because it is the blood, as the seat of life, that makes atonement.	11 бо в крові — життя тіла, і я вам дозволив уживати її на жертовнику в покуту за ваші душі, кров бо чинить покуту, оскільки в ній життя.
12 That is why I have told the Israelites: No one among you, not even a resident alien, may partake of blood.	12 Тим то й сказав я синам Ізраїля: ніхто з-поміж вас не сміє споживати крови, і приходень, що пробуває між вами, не сміє їсти крови.
13 "Anyone hunting, whether of the Israelites or of the aliens residing among them, who catches an animal or a bird that may be eaten, shall pour out its blood and cover it with earth.	13 Хто б то не був, чи з синів Ізраїля, чи з при-ходнів, що перебувають серед вас, коли вполює якусь дичину, чи птицю, яку можна їсти, нехай вицідить кров її й засипле землею.
14 Since the life of every living body is its blood, I have told the Israelites: You shall not partake of the blood of any meat. Since the life of every living body is its blood, anyone who partakes of it shall be cut off.	14 Бо життя кожного тіла — це кров його; тим то й сказав я синам Ізраїля: Не їжте крови ні з якого тіла; а що кров то життя кожного тіла, то хто б її не їв — викоріниться.
15 "Everyone, whether a native or an alien, who eats of an animal that died of itself or was killed by a wild beast, shall wash his garments, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening, and then he will be clean.	15 Кожен, хто їстиме або здохлятину, або розірване звірем, чи то буде тубілець, чи приходень, нехай випере свою одіж і вимиється в воді; він буде нечистим до вечора; тоді ж стане чистим.
16 If he does not wash or does not bathe his body, he shall have the guilt to bear."	16 Коли ж не випере й не вмиється ввесь, нестиме гріх свій.»
