Isaiah 16

1 Send them forth, hugging the earth like reptiles, from Sela across the desert, to the mount of daughter Zion.	1 Enviai o cordeiro ao soberano da terra de Selá, pelo deserto, ao monte de Sião.
2 Like flushed birds, like startled nestlings, Are the daughters of Moab at the fords of the Arnon.	2 Como aves espantadas, como ninhada dispersa, tais serão as filhas de Moab na passagem do Arnon.
3 Offer counsel, take their part: at high noon let your shadow be like the night, To hide the outcasts, to conceal the fugitives.	3 Dá teu aviso, intervém como árbitro, cobre-nos com tua sombra como a noite, em pleno meio-dia; esconde os exilados, não traias os fugitivos.
4 Let the outcasts of Moab live with you, be their shelter from the destroyer. When the struggle is ended, the ruin complete, and they have done with trampling the land,	4 Deixa morar em tua casa os exilados de Moab, sê o seu refúgio contra o devastador, até que o opressor desapareça, a devastação tenha fim, e o invasor deixe a terra.
5 A throne shall be set up in mercy, and on it shall sit in fidelity (in David's tent) A judge upholding right and prompt to do justice.	5 O trono se consolidará pela bondade; nele sentará constantemente, na casa de Davi, um juiz amante do direito e zeloso da justiça.
6 We have heard of the pride of Moab, how very proud he is, With his haughty, arrogant insolence that his empty words do not match.	6 Nós conhecemos o orgulho de Moab, o soberbo, sua arrogância, sua altivez, sua insolência e a perfídia de sua língua.
7 Therefore Moab wails for Moab, everywhere they wail; For the raisin cakes of Kir-hareseth they sigh, stricken with grief.	7 Por isso Moab geme sobre Moab e todos se lamentam. Pelos bolos de uvas de Quir-Hasereth, eles suspiram consternados;
8 The terraced slopes of Heshbon languish, the vines of Sibmah, Whose clusters overpowered the lords of nations, While they reached as far as Jazer and scattered over the desert, And whose branches spread forth and extended over the sea.	8 porque o campo de Hesebon está seco e os soberanos das nações saquearam a vinha de Sabama, cujos sarmentos atingiram Jáser e se perdiam no deserto, cujos rebentos se prolongavam e atravessavam o mar.
9 Therefore I weep with Jazer for the vines of Sibmah; I water you with tears, Heshbon and Elealeh; For on your summer fruits and harvests the battle cry has fallen.	9 Por isso eu choro com Jáser sobre a vinha de Sabama; banho-vos com minhas lágrimas, Hesebon e Eleale; porque sobre vossa colheita e vossa messe retumbou o grito do pisoeiro.
10 From the orchards are taken away joy and gladness, In the vineyards there is no singing, no shout of joy; In the wine presses no one treads grapes, the vintage shout is stilled.	10 A alegria e a animação desapareceram dos pomares, nas vinhas não há mais cantos nem vozes alegres; já não se pisa a vindima nas cubas, e o grito do pisoeiro cessou.
11 Therefore for Moab my breast moans like a lyre, and my heart for Kir-hareseth.	11 Por isso estremeço sobre Moab como uma harpa, e meu coração geme sobre Quir-Hares;
12 When Moab grows weary on the high places, he shall enter his sanctuary to pray, but it shall avail him nothing.	12 por mais que Moab se agite nos lugares altos, por mais que visite seus santuários para orar, nada obterá.
13 This is the word the LORD spoke against Moab in times past.	13 Esse é o oráculo que o Senhor pronunciou outrora contra Moab.
14 But now the LORD has spoken: In three years, like those of a hireling, the glory of Moab shall be degraded despite all its great multitude; there shall be a remnant, very small and weak.	14 E agora, ele declara: Dentro de três anos, contados como os anos de um assalariado, a soberania de Moab, tão considerável, será insignificante, e dela não restará senão um débil vestígio.
