1 David built houses for himself in the City of David and prepared a place for the ark of God, pitching a tent for it there.	1 Egli si fabbricò delle case nella città di David, ed edificò un luogo per l'arca di Dio, e formolle un tabernacolo.
2 At that time he said, "No one may carry the ark of God except the Levites, for the LORD chose them to carry the ark of the LORD and to minister to him forever."	2 Allora disse David: Non è lecito, che l'arca di Dio sia portata da altri, che dai Leviti eletti dal Signore a portarla, e ad essere suoi ministri in perpetuo.
3 Then David assembled all Israel in Jerusalem to bring the ark of the LORD to the place which he had prepared for it.	3 E convocò tutto Israele a Gerusalemme per far portare l'arca di Dio al suo luogo, ch'ei le avea preparato.
4 David also called together the sons of Aaron and the Levites:	4 E (convocò) anche i figliuoli di Aaronne, e i Leviti.
5 of the sons of Kohath, Uriel, their chief, and one hundred and twenty of his brethren;	5 De' figliuoli di Caath, era capo Uriel; e avea seco cento venti de' suoi fratelli.
6 of the sons of Merari, Asaiah, their chief, and two hundred and twenty of his brethren;	6 De' figliuoli di Merari, era capo Asaia; e con lui dugento venti de' suoi fratelli.
7 of the sons of Gershon, Joel, their chief, and one hundred and thirty of his brethren;	7 De' figliuoli di Gersom, capo era Joel; e con lui cento trenta de' suoi fratelli.
8 of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah, their chief, and two hundred of his brethren;	8 De' figliuoli di Elisaphan, era capo Semeia; e avea seco dugento fratelli.
9 of the sons of Hebron, Eliel, their chief, and eighty of his brethren;	9 De' figliuoli di Hebron, era capo Eliei; e avea seco ottanta fratelli.
10 of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab, their chief, and one hundred and twelve of his brethren.	10 De' figliuoli di Oziel, capo era Aminadab; e con lui cento dodici fratelli.
11 David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar, and the Levites Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab,	11 E David chiamò a se Sadoc, e Abiathar Sacerdoti, e i Leviti, Uriel, Asaia, Joel, Semeia, Eliei, e Aminadab:
12 and said to them: "You, the heads of the levitical families, must sanctify yourselves along with your brethren and bring the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, to the place which I have prepared for it.	12 E disse loro: Voi, che siete i capi delle famiglie Levitiche, purificatevi insieme co' vostri fratelli, e portate l'arca del Signore Dio d'Israele al luogo preparato per essa;
13 Because you were not with us the first time, the wrath of the LORD our God burst upon us, for we did not seek him aright."	13 Affinchè come l'altra volta il Signore ci gastigò, perchè voi non eravate presenti, cosi non avvenisse ora, se alcuna cosa non permessa si facesse da noi.
14 Accordingly, the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel.	14 Si purificarono adunque i sacerdoti, e i Leviti, per portar l'arca del Signore Dio d'Israele.
15 The Levites bore the ark of God on their shoulders with poles, as Moses had ordained according to the word of the LORD.	15 E portarono l'arca dì Dio il figliuolo di Levi (conforme aveva ordinato Mosè secondo la parola del Signore) sopra le loro spalle, sulle stanghe.
16 David commanded the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brethren as chanters, to play on musical instruments, harps, lyres, and cymbals, to make a loud sound of rejoicing.	16 E David ordinò ai capi de' Leviti, che scegliessero tra i loro fratelli dei cantori, e sonatori di musicali strumenti, viene a dire, di nabli, lire, e cimbali, affinchè risonassero fino al cielo i suoni di letizia.
17 Therefore the Levites appointed Heman, son of Joel, and, among his brethren, Asaph, son of Berechiah; and among the sons of Merari, their brethren, Ethan, son of Kushaiah;	17 E quelli scelsero de' Leviti. Heman figliuolo di Joel, e de' fratelli di lui, Asaph figliuolo di Barachia; e dei figliuoli di Merari, e loro fratelli, Ethan figliuoli di Casaia:
18 and, together with these, their brethren of the second rank: the gatekeepers Zechariah, Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel.	18 E con essi i loro fratelli: e nel secondo ordine Zacharia, e Ben, e Jaziel, e Semiramoth, e Jahiel, e Ani, Eliab, e Banaia, e Maasia, e Mathathia, ed Eliphalu, e Macenia, e Obededom, e Jehiel, che erano portinai.
19 The chanters, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, sounded brass cymbals.	19 E i cantori Heman, Asaph, ed Ethan sonavano i cimbali di bronzo.
20 Zechariah, Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah played on harps set to "Alamoth."	20 E Zacharia, e Oziel, e Semiramoth, e Jahiel, e Ani, ed Eliab, e Maasia, e Banaia cantavano inni misteriosi sui nabli.
21 But Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel led the chant on lyres set to "the eighth."	21 E Mathathia, ed Eliphalu, e Macenia, e Obededom, e Jehiel, e Ozazia cantavano inni di vittoria sulle cetere a otto corde.
22 Chenaniah was the chief of the Levites in the chanting; he directed the chanting, for he was skillful.	22 E Chonenia principe de' Leviti era quello, che presedeva al canto, per dare il tuono: perocché era molto intelligente.
23 Berechiah and Elkanah were gatekeepers before the ark.	23 E Barachia, ed Elcana facevano da portinaj dell'arca.
24 The priests, Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, sounded the trumpets before the ark of God. Obed-edom and Jeiel were also gatekeepers before the ark.	24 E Sebenia, e Josaphat, e Nathanael, e Amasai, e Zacharia, e Banaia, ed Eliezer sacerdoti sonavan le trombe dinanzi all'arca di Dio: e Obededom, e Jehia erano uscieri dell'arca.
25 Thus David, the elders of Israel, and the commanders of thousands went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with joy from the house of Obed-edom.	25 Davidde adunque, e tutti i seniori d'Israele, e i tribuni andarono a trasportare l'arca del testamento del Signore dalla casa di Obededom con gran festa.
26 While the Levites, with God's help, were bearing the ark of the covenant of the LORD, seven bulls and seven rams were sacrificed.	26 E perchè Dio avea dato aiuto ai Leviti, che portavano l'arca del testamento del Signore, furono immolati sette tori, e sette arieti.
27 David was clothed in a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who carried the ark, the singers, and Chenaniah, the leader of the chant; David was also wearing a linen ephod.	27 Davidde poi era vestito di una veste lunga di bisso, come anche tutti i Leviti, che portavan l'arca, e i cantori, e Chonenia maestro del coro dei cantori: ma David avea ancora un Ephod di lino.
28 Thus all Israel brought back the ark of the covenant of the LORD with joyful shouting, to the sound of horns, trumpets, and cymbals, and the music of harps and lyres.	28 E tutto Israele accompagnava l'arca del testamento del Signore con voci di giubilo, e tra i suoni di buccine, e di trombe, e di cimbali, e di nabli, e di cetere.
29 But as the ark of the covenant of the LORD was entering the City of David, Michal, daughter of Saul, looked down from her window, and when she saw King David leaping and dancing, she despised him in her heart.	29 E quando l'arca del testamento del Signore fu arrivata sino alla città di David, Michol figliuola di Saul mirando da una finestra, vide il re David, che saltava, e ballava; e in cuor suo lo disprezzò.
