Bamidbàr (במדבר) - Numeri 15

1 וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
2 דבר אל בני ישראל ואמרת אלהם כי תבאו אל ארץ מושבתיכם אשר אני נתן לכם	2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have arrived in the country where you are to live andwhich I am giving to you,
3 ועשיתם אשה ליהוה עלה או זבח לפלא נדר או בנדבה או במעדיכם לעשות ריח ניחח ליהוה מן הבקר או מן הצאן	3 and you burn food as an offering to Yahweh either as a burnt offering or as a sacrifice, whether inpayment of a vow, or as a voluntary gift, or on the occasion of one of your solemn feasts, from your herds andflocks as a smel pleasing to Yahweh:
4 והקריב המקריב קרבנו ליהוה מנחה סלת עשרון בלול ברבעית ההין שמן	4 the offerer wil , as his personal gift to Yahweh, bring a cereal offering of one-tenth of an ephah of fineflour mixed with one-quarter of a hin of oil.
5 ויין לנסך רביעית ההין תעשה על העלה או לזבח לכבש האחד	5 You will also make a libation of wine, one-quarter of a hin to each lamb, in addition to the burntoffering or sacrifice.
6 או לאיל תעשה מנחה סלת שני עשרנים בלולה בשמן שלשית ההין	6 For a ram, you will make a cereal offering of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with one-thirdof a hin of oil,
7 ויין לנסך שלשית ההין תקריב ריח ניחח ליהוה	7 and a libation of one-third of a hin of wine as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.
8 וכי תעשה בן בקר עלה או זבח לפלא נדר או שלמים ליהוה	8 If you offer a bul as a burnt offering or sacrifice, in payment of a vow or as a communion sacrifice forYahweh,
9 והקריב על בן הבקר מנחה סלת שלשה עשרנים בלול בשמן חצי ההין	9 in addition to the animal you wil offer a cereal offering of three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixedwith half a hin of oil,
10 ויין תקריב לנסך חצי ההין אשה ריח ניחח ליהוה	10 and you wil offer a libation of half a hin of wine, as food burnt as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.
11 ככה יעשה לשור האחד או לאיל האחד או לשה בכבשים או בעזים	11 This wil be done for every bul , every ram, every lamb or kid.
12 כמספר אשר תעשו ככה תעשו לאחד כמספרם	12 Whatever the number of victims you intend to offer, you wil do the same for each of them, howevermany there are.
13 כל האזרח יעשה ככה את אלה להקריב אשה ריח ניחח ליהוה	13 "Every citizen of the country wil act in this way whenever he offers food burnt as a smel pleasing toYahweh;
14 וכי יגור אתכם גר או אשר בתוככם לדרתיכם ועשה אשה ריח ניחח ליהוה כאשר תעשו כן יעשה	14 and if an alien residing with you or with your descendants intends to offer food burnt as a smelpleasing to Yahweh, he wil do as you do.
15 הקהל חקה אחת לכם ולגר הגר חקת עולם לדרתיכם ככם כגר יהיה לפני יהוה	15 There wil be one law for you, members of the community, and the resident alien alike, a law bindingyour descendants for ever: before Yahweh you and the resident alien are no different.'
16 תורה אחת ומשפט אחד יהיה לכם ולגר הגר אתכם	16 One law, one statute, wil apply for you and the resident alien." '
17 וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר	17 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
18 דבר אל בני ישראל ואמרת אלהם בבאכם אל הארץ אשר אני מביא אתכם שמה	18 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have entered the country to which I am bringing you,
19 והיה באכלכם מלחם הארץ תרימו תרומה ליהוה	19 you wil set a portion aside for Yahweh when you eat that country's bread.
20 ראשית ערסתכם חלה תרימו תרומה כתרומת גרן כן תרימו אתה	20 You wil set one cake aside as the first-fruits of your dough; you will set this offering aside like theone set aside from your threshing.
21 מראשית ערסתיכם תתנו ליהוה תרומה לדרתיכם	21 For al future generations you will set a portion of your dough aside for Yahweh.
22 וכי תשגו ולא תעשו את כל המצות האלה אשר דבר יהוה אל משה	22 "If through inadvertence you fail in any of these orders which Yahweh has given to Moses
23 את כל אשר צוה יהוה אליכם ביד משה מן היום אשר צוה יהוה והלאה לדרתיכם	23 (whatever orders Yahweh has given you or your descendants through Moses, from the day whenYahweh gave his orders),
24 והיה אם מעיני העדה נעשתה לשגגה ועשו כל העדה פר בן בקר אחד לעלה לריח ניחח ליהוה ומנחתו ונסכו כמשפט ושעיר עזים אחד לחטת	24 this is what must be done: "If it is an inadvertence on the part of the community, the community as awhole wil offer a young bull as a burnt offering, as a smell pleasing to Yahweh, with the prescribedaccompanying cereal offering and libation, and a he-goat as a sacrifice for sin.
25 וכפר הכהן על כל עדת בני ישראל ונסלח להם כי שגגה הוא והם הביאו את קרבנם אשה ליהוה וחטאתם לפני יהוה על שגגתם	25 The priest wil perform the rite of expiation for the entire community of Israelites, and they wil beforgiven, since it was an inadvertence. Once they have brought their offering as food burnt for Yahweh, and havepresented their sacrifice for sin before Yahweh to make amends for their inadvertence,
26 ונסלח לכל עדת בני ישראל ולגר הגר בתוכם כי לכל העם בשגגה	26 the whole community of Israelites wil be forgiven, as also the alien residing with them, since theentire people acted by inadvertence.
27 ואם נפש אחת תחטא בשגגה והקריבה עז בת שנתה לחטאת	27 "If it is an individual who has sinned by inadvertence, he wil offer a yearling kid as a sacrifice for sin.
28 וכפר הכהן על הנפש השגגת בחטאה בשגגה לפני יהוה לכפר עליו ונסלח לו	28 The priest wil perform the rite of expiation before Yahweh for the person who has gone astray owingto this sin of inadvertence and, expiation having been made for him, he will be forgiven;
29 האזרח בבני ישראל ולגר הגר בתוכם תורה אחת יהיה לכם לעשה בשגגה	29 whether he is an Israelite citizen or a resident alien, you wil have one law for anyone who sins byinadvertence.
30 והנפש אשר תעשה ביד רמה מן האזרח ומן הגר את יהוה הוא מגדף ונכרתה הנפש ההוא מקרב עמה	30 "But the individual who acts deliberately, be he citizen or alien, commits an outrage against Yahweh,and such a man wil be outlawed from his people.
31 כי דבר יהוה בזה ואת מצותו הפר הכרת תכרת הנפש ההוא עונה בה	31 Since he has treated Yahweh's word with contempt and has disobeyed his order, such a man wil beoutlawed absolutely and wil bear the consequences of his guilt." '
32 ויהיו בני ישראל במדבר וימצאו איש מקשש עצים ביום השבת	32 While the Israelites were in the desert, a man was caught gathering wood on the Sabbath day.
33 ויקריבו אתו המצאים אתו מקשש עצים אל משה ואל אהרן ואל כל העדה	33 Those who caught him gathering wood brought him before Moses, Aaron and the whole community.
34 ויניחו אתו במשמר כי לא פרש מה יעשה לו	34 He was kept in custody, because the penalty he should undergo had not yet been fixed.
35 ויאמר יהוה אל משה מות יומת האיש רגום אתו באבנים כל העדה מחוץ למחנה	35 Yahweh said to Moses, 'This man must be put to death. The whole community will stone him outsidethe camp.'
36 ויציאו אתו כל העדה אל מחוץ למחנה וירגמו אתו באבנים וימת כאשר צוה יהוה את משה	36 The whole community took him outside the camp and stoned him til he was dead, as Yahweh hadordered Moses.
37 ויאמר יהוה אל משה לאמר	37 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
38 דבר אל בני ישראל ואמרת אלהם ועשו להם ציצת על כנפי בגדיהם לדרתם ונתנו על ציצת הכנף פתיל תכלת	38 'Speak to the Israelites and tell them, for all generations to come, to put tassels on the hems of theirclothes and work a violet thread into the tassel at the hem.
39 והיה לכם לציצת וראיתם אתו וזכרתם את כל מצות יהוה ועשיתם אתם ולא תתרו אחרי לבבכם ואחרי עיניכם אשר אתם זנים אחריהם	39 You wil thus have a tassel, and the sight of it wil remind you of al Yahweh's orders and how youare to put them into practice, and not follow the dictates of your own heart and eyes, which have led you to beunfaithful.
40 למען תזכרו ועשיתם את כל מצותי והייתם קדשים לאלהיכם	40 'This wil remind you of all my orders; put them into practice, and you wil be consecrated to yourGod.
41 אני יהוה אלהיכם אשר הוצאתי אתכם מארץ מצרים להיות לכם לאלהים אני יהוה אלהיכם	41 I, Yahweh your God, have brought you out of Egypt, to be your God, I, Yahweh your God.'
