1 ויעש מזבח נחשת עשרים אמה ארכו ועשרים אמה רחבו ועשר אמות קומתו | 1 He made a bronze altar, twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide and ten cubits high. |
2 ויעש את הים מוצק עשר באמה משפתו אל שפתו עגול סביב וחמש באמה קומתו וקו שלשים באמה יסב אתו סביב | 2 He made the Sea of cast metal, ten cubits from rim to rim, circular in shape and five cubits high; a cordthirty cubits long gave the measurement of its girth. |
3 ודמות בקרים תחת לו סביב סביב סובבים אתו עשר באמה מקיפים את הים סביב שנים טורים הבקר יצוקים במצקתו | 3 Under it and completely encircling it were things like oxen, ten to the cubit round the entire Sea; theoxen were in two rows, of one and the same casting with the rest. |
4 עומד על שנים עשר בקר שלשה פנים צפונה ושלושה פנים ימה ושלשה פנים נגבה ושלשה פנים מזרחה והים עליהם מלמעלה וכל אחריהם ביתה | 4 It rested on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, three facing east; onthese, their hindquarters al turned inwards, stood the Sea. |
5 ועביו טפח ושפתו כמעשה שפת כוס פרח שושנה מחזיק בתים שלשת אלפים יכיל | 5 It was a hand's breadth in thickness, and its rim was shaped like the rim of a cup-lily-shaped. It couldhold three thousand bat. |
6 ויעש כיורים עשרה ויתן חמשה מימין וחמשה משמאול לרחצה בהם את מעשה העולה ידיחו בם והים לרחצה לכהנים בו | 6 He made ten basins, putting five on the right and five on the left, for washing in; the things to be offeredas burnt offerings were to be rinsed in these, but the Sea was for the priests to wash in. |
7 ויעש את מנרות הזהב עשר כמשפטם ויתן בהיכל חמש מימין וחמש משמאול | 7 He made the ten golden lamp-stands according to the pattern and placed them in the Hekal, five on theright and five on the left. |
8 ויעש שלחנות עשרה וינח בהיכל חמשה מימין וחמשה משמאול ויעש מזרקי זהב מאה | 8 He made ten tables which he set up in the Hekal, five on the right and five on the left. He also made ahundred golden sprinkling bowls. |
9 ויעש חצר הכהנים והעזרה הגדולה ודלתות לעזרה ודלתותיהם צפה נחשת | 9 He made the court of the priests and the great court with its gates and plated the gates with bronze. |
10 ואת הים נתן מכתף הימנית קדמה ממול נגבה | 10 The Sea he placed on the right-hand side of the Temple, to the south-east. |
11 ויעש חורם את הסירות ואת היעים ואת המזרקות ויכל חירם לעשות את המלאכה אשר עשה למלך שלמה בבית האלהים | 11 Huram made the ash containers, the scoops and the sprinkling bowls. Thus Huram completed al thework done for King Solomon for the Temple of God: |
12 עמודים שנים והגלות והכתרות על ראש העמודים שתים והשבכות שתים לכסות את שתי גלות הכתרות אשר על ראש העמודים | 12 the two pillars; the mouldings of the capitals surmounting the two pil ars; the two sets of filigree tocover the two mouldings of the capitals surmounting the pil ars; |
13 ואת הרמונים ארבע מאות לשתי השבכות שנים טורים רמונים לשבכה האחת לכסות את שתי גלות הכתרות אשר על פני העמודים | 13 the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of filigree -- two rows of pomegranates for each set offiligree; |
14 ואת המכנות עשה ואת הכירות עשה על המכנות | 14 the ten stands and the ten basins on the stands; |
15 את הים אחד ואת הבקר שנים עשר תחתיו | 15 the one Sea and the twelve oxen beneath it; |
16 ואת הסירות ואת היעים ואת המזלגות ואת כל כליהם עשה חורם אביו למלך שלמה לבית יהוה נחשת מרוק | 16 the ash containers, scoops and forks. Al these utensils made by Huram-Abi for King Solomon for theTemple of Yahweh were of burnished bronze. |
17 בככר הירדן יצקם המלך בעבי האדמה בין סכות ובין צרדתה | 17 The King made them by the process of sand casting, in the plain of the Jordan between Succoth andZeredah. |
18 ויעש שלמה כל הכלים האלה לרב מאד כי לא נחקר משקל הנחשת | 18 There was such an enormous quantity of them that the weight of the bronze could not be calculated. |
19 ויעש שלמה את כל הכלים אשר בית האלהים ואת מזבח הזהב ואת השלחנות ועליהם לחם הפנים | 19 Solomon made al the objects designed for the Temple of God, as wel as the golden altar and thetables for the loaves of permanent offering; |
20 ואת המנרות ונרתיהם לבערם כמשפט לפני הדביר זהב סגור | 20 the lamp-stands with their lamps to burn, as prescribed, in front of the Debir, of pure gold; |
21 והפרח והנרות והמלקחים זהב הוא מכלות זהב | 21 the floral work, the lamps, the tongs, of gold (and it was pure gold); |
22 והמזמרות והמזרקות והכפות והמחתות זהב סגור ופתח הבית דלתותיו הפנימיות לקדש הקדשים ודלתי הבית להיכל זהב | 22 the snuffers, the sprinkling bowls, incense ladles and the pans, of real gold; and the entrance to theTemple, the inner doors (for the Holy of Holies) and the doors of the Temple itself, that is of the Hekal, were alsomade of gold. |
