1 ויחל שלמה לבנות את בית יהוה בירושלם בהר המוריה אשר נראה לדויד אביהו אשר הכין במקום דויד בגרן ארנן היבוסי	1 Solomon then began building the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah where David hisfather had had a vision -- on the site which David had prepared -- on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2 ויחל לבנות בחדש השני בשני בשנת ארבע למלכותו	2 He began building it on the second day of the second month of the fourth year of his reign.
3 ואלה הוסד שלמה לבנות את בית האלהים הארך אמות במדה הראשונה אמות ששים ורחב אמות עשרים	3 These are the dimensions which Solomon fixed for the structure of the house of God: its length incubits, according to the old standard, was sixty cubits and its width twenty cubits;
4 והאולם אשר על פני הארך על פני רחב הבית אמות עשרים והגבה מאה ועשרים ויצפהו מפנימה זהב טהור	4 and the portico in front of the house was the ful width of the house, that is, twenty cubits, and its heightwas a hundred and twenty cubits; on the inside he overlaid it with pure gold.
5 ואת הבית הגדול חפה עץ ברושים ויחפהו זהב טוב ויעל עליו תמרים ושרשרות	5 The Great Hall he lined with juniper, which he overlaid with fine gold and ornamented with palm treesand festoons,
6 ויצף את הבית אבן יקרה לתפארת והזהב זהב פרוים	6 and he decorated the hall beautifully with precious stones and with gold from Parvaim,
7 ויחף את הבית הקרות הספים וקירותיו ודלתותיו זהב ופתח כרובים על הקירות	7 overlaying the hal , its beams and its thresholds, its walls and its doors, with gold and engraving thewal s with great winged creatures.
8 ויעש את בית קדש הקדשים ארכו על פני רחב הבית אמות עשרים ורחבו אמות עשרים ויחפהו זהב טוב לככרים שש מאות	8 He also made the Holy of Holies, the length of which corresponded to the width of the Great Hal , beingtwenty cubits, with a width of twenty cubits, and this he overlaid with fine gold weighing six hundred talents,
9 ומשקל למסמרות לשקלים חמשים זהב והעליות חפה זהב	9 while the weight of the gold nails was fifty shekels. He also overlaid the upper rooms with gold.
10 ויעש בבית קדש הקדשים כרובים שנים מעשה צעצעים ויצפו אתם זהב	10 In the Holy of Holies he model ed two winged creatures of wrought metal work and overlaid them withgold.
11 וכנפי הכרובים ארכם אמות עשרים כנף האחד לאמות חמש מגעת לקיר הבית והכנף האחרת אמות חמש מגיע לכנף הכרוב האחר	11 The total span of their wings was twenty cubits; one wing, being five cubits long, touched the wal ofthe house and the other wing, being five cubits long, touched the wing of the other winged creature;
12 וכנף הכרוב האחד אמות חמש מגיע לקיר הבית והכנף האחרת אמות חמש דבקה לכנף הכרוב האחר	12 while one wing of the other, five cubits long, touched the other wall of the house and the other wing,five cubits long, touched the wing of the other winged creature.
13 כנפי הכרובים האלה פרשים אמות עשרים והם עמדים על רגליהם ופניהם לבית	13 The spread of these creatures' wings was twenty cubits. They stood in an upright position, with theirfaces towards the Hall.
14 ויעש את הפרכת תכלת וארגמן וכרמיל ובוץ ויעל עליו כרובים	14 He also made the Curtain of violet, scarlet, crimson and fine linen, working a design of wingedcreatures on it.
15 ויעש לפני הבית עמודים שנים אמות שלשים וחמש ארך והצפת אשר על ראשו אמות חמש	15 In front of the Hal he made two pil ars thirty-five cubits high, and on the top of each a capitalmeasuring five cubits.
16 ויעש שרשרות בדביר ויתן על ראש העמדים ויעש רמונים מאה ויתן בשרשרות	16 He made festoons, in the Debir, to go at the tops of the pil ars, and made a hundred pomegranates togo on the festoons.
17 ויקם את העמודים על פני ההיכל אחד מימין ואחד מהשמאול ויקרא שם הימיני יכין ושם השמאלי בעז	17 He erected the pil ars in front of the Temple, one on the right, the other on the left; the one on the righthe cal ed Jachin and the one on the left, Boaz.
