LXXNEW JERUSALEM
και ειδον και ιδου επανω του στερεωματος του υπερ κεφαλης των χερουβιν ως λιθος σαπφειρου ομοιωμα θρονου επ' αυτων1 Then, in vision I saw that above the solid surface over the heads of the winged creatures there wasabove them something like sapphire, which seemed to be like a throne.
και ειπεν προς τον ανδρα τον ενδεδυκοτα την στολην εισελθε εις το μεσον των τροχων των υποκατω των χερουβιν και πλησον τας δρακας σου ανθρακων πυρος εκ μεσου των χερουβιν και διασκορπισον επι την πολιν και εισηλθεν ενωπιον μου2 He then said to the man dressed in linen, 'Go in between the wheels below the winged creatures; takea handful of burning coal from between the winged creatures and scatter it over the city.' He went in as Iwatched.
και τα χερουβιν ειστηκει εκ δεξιων του οικου εν τω εισπορευεσθαι τον ανδρα και η νεφελη επλησεν την αυλην την εσωτεραν3 The winged creatures were on the right of the Temple as the man went in, and the cloud fil ed theinner court.
και απηρεν η δοξα κυριου απο των χερουβιν εις το αιθριον του οικου και επλησεν τον οικον η νεφελη και η αυλη επλησθη του φεγγους της δοξης κυριου4 The glory of Yahweh rose from above the winged creatures, towards the threshold of the Temple; theTemple was fil ed by the cloud and the court was full of the brightness of the glory of Yahweh.
και φωνη των πτερυγων των χερουβιν ηκουετο εως της αυλης της εξωτερας ως φωνη θεου σαδδαι λαλουντος5 The noise of the winged creatures' wings could be heard even in the outer court, like the voice of GodAlmighty when he speaks.
και εγενετο εν τω εντελλεσθαι αυτον τω ανδρι τω ενδεδυκοτι την στολην την αγιαν λεγων λαβε πυρ εκ μεσου των τροχων εκ μεσου των χερουβιν και εισηλθεν και εστη εχομενος των τροχων6 When he had given the order to the man dressed in linen, 'Take the fire from between the wheels, between the winged creatures,' the man went in and stood by one of the wheels.
και εξετεινεν την χειρα αυτου εις μεσον του πυρος του οντος εν μεσω των χερουβιν και ελαβεν και εδωκεν εις τας χειρας του ενδεδυκοτος την στολην την αγιαν και ελαβεν και εξηλθεν7 One of the winged creatures then reached his hand out towards the fire between the wingedcreatures, took some of it and put it into the hands of the man dressed in linen, who took it and came out again.
και ειδον τα χερουβιν ομοιωμα χειρων ανθρωπων υποκατωθεν των πτερυγων αυτων8 There appeared to be what looked like a human hand under the winged creatures' wings.
και ειδον και ιδου τροχοι τεσσαρες ειστηκεισαν εχομενοι των χερουβιν τροχος εις εχομενος χερουβ ενος και η οψις των τροχων ως οψις λιθου ανθρακος9 And I looked, and there were four wheels beside the winged creatures, one wheel beside each wingedcreature, and the appearance of the wheels was like the sparkle of chrysolite.
και η οψις αυτων ομοιωμα εν τοις τεσσαρσιν ον τροπον οταν η τροχος εν μεσω τροχου10 In appearance, al four looked alike, as though each wheel had another wheel inside it.
εν τω πορευεσθαι αυτα εις τα τεσσαρα μερη αυτων επορευοντο ουκ επεστρεφον εν τω πορευεσθαι αυτα οτι εις ον αν τοπον επεβλεψεν η αρχη η μια επορευοντο και ουκ επεστρεφον εν τω πορευεσθαι αυτα11 In whichever of the four directions they moved, they did not need to turn as they moved, butwhichever way the head was facing there they fol owed; they did not turn as they moved,
και οι νωτοι αυτων και αι χειρες αυτων και αι πτερυγες αυτων και οι τροχοι πληρεις οφθαλμων κυκλοθεν τοις τεσσαρσιν τροχοις αυτων12 and their entire bodies, their backs, their hands, their wings, as wel as the wheels, had eyes al theway round (the wheels of al four).
τοις δε τροχοις τουτοις επεκληθη γελγελ ακουοντος μου13 In my hearing, these wheels were called 'galgal'.
-14 Each had four faces; the first was a winged creature's face, the second a human face, the third alion's face and the fourth an eagle's face.
και ηραν τα χερουβιν τουτο το ζωον ο ειδον επι του ποταμου του χοβαρ15 The winged creatures rose; this was the being I had seen by the River Chebar.
και εν τω πορευεσθαι τα χερουβιν επορευοντο οι τροχοι και ουτοι εχομενοι αυτων και εν τω εξαιρειν τα χερουβιν τας πτερυγας αυτων του μετεωριζεσθαι απο της γης ουκ επεστρεφον οι τροχοι αυτων16 When the winged creatures moved, the wheels moved beside them; and when the winged creaturesraised their wings to leave the ground, the wheels did not turn beside them.
εν τω εσταναι αυτα ειστηκεισαν και εν τω μετεωριζεσθαι αυτα εμετεωριζοντο μετ' αυτων διοτι πνευμα ζωης εν αυτοις ην17 When the former halted the latter halted; when the former rose, the latter rose with them, since theyshared the same living spirit.
και εξηλθεν δοξα κυριου απο του οικου και επεβη επι τα χερουβιν18 The glory of Yahweh then came out over the Temple threshold and paused over the wingedcreatures.
και ανελαβον τα χερουβιν τας πτερυγας αυτων και εμετεωρισθησαν απο της γης ενωπιον εμου εν τω εξελθειν αυτα και οι τροχοι εχομενοι αυτων και εστησαν επι τα προθυρα της πυλης οικου κυριου της απεναντι και δοξα θεου ισραηλ ην επ' αυτων υπερανω19 These raised their wings and rose from the ground as I watched, and the wheels were beside them. They paused at the entrance to the east gate of the Temple of Yahweh, with the glory of the God of Israel over them, above.
τουτο το ζωον εστιν ο ειδον υποκατω θεου ισραηλ επι του ποταμου του χοβαρ και εγνων οτι χερουβιν εστιν20 This was the winged creature I had seen beneath the God of Israel by the River Chebar; I knew thatthey were winged creatures.
τεσσαρα προσωπα τω ενι και οκτω πτερυγες τω ενι και ομοιωμα χειρων ανθρωπου υποκατωθεν των πτερυγων αυτων21 Each had four faces and four wings and what seemed to be human hands under their wings.
και ομοιωσις των προσωπων αυτων ταυτα τα προσωπα εστιν α ειδον υποκατω της δοξης θεου ισραηλ επι του ποταμου του χοβαρ και αυτα εκαστον κατα προσωπον αυτων επορευοντο22 Their faces were like those I had seen by the River Chebar. Each one moved straight forward.
