ο λογος ο γενομενος παρα κυριου προς ησαιαν υιον αμως περι της ιουδαιας και περι ιερουσαλημ1 The word that Isaiah, the son of Amoz, saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
οτι εσται εν ταις εσχαταις ημεραις εμφανες το ορος κυριου και ο οικος του θεου επ' ακρων των ορεων και υψωθησεται υπερανω των βουνων και ηξουσιν επ' αυτο παντα τα εθνη2 And in the last days, the mountain of the house of the Lord will be prepared at the summit of the mountains, and it will be exalted above the hills, and all the nations shall flow to it.
και πορευσονται εθνη πολλα και ερουσιν δευτε και αναβωμεν εις το ορος κυριου και εις τον οικον του θεου ιακωβ και αναγγελει ημιν την οδον αυτου και πορευσομεθα εν αυτη εκ γαρ σιων εξελευσεται νομος και λογος κυριου εξ ιερουσαλημ3 And many peoples will go, and they will say: “Let us approach and ascend to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob. And he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For the law will go forth from Zion, and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
και κρινει ανα μεσον των εθνων και ελεγξει λαον πολυν και συγκοψουσιν τας μαχαιρας αυτων εις αροτρα και τας ζιβυνας αυτων εις δρεπανα και ου λημψεται ετι εθνος επ' εθνος μαχαιραν και ου μη μαθωσιν ετι πολεμειν4 And he will judge the nations, and he will rebuke many peoples. And they shall forge their swords into plowshares, and their spears into sickles. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they continue to train for battle.
και νυν ο οικος του ιακωβ δευτε πορευθωμεν τω φωτι κυριου5 O house of Jacob, let us approach and walk in the light of the Lord.
ανηκεν γαρ τον λαον αυτου τον οικον του ισραηλ οτι ενεπλησθη ως το απ' αρχης η χωρα αυτων κληδονισμων ως η των αλλοφυλων και τεκνα πολλα αλλοφυλα εγενηθη αυτοις6 For you have cast aside your people, the house of Jacob, because they have been filled up, as in past times, and because they have had soothsayers as the Philistines have, and because they have joined themselves to foreign servants.
ενεπλησθη γαρ η χωρα αυτων αργυριου και χρυσιου και ουκ ην αριθμος των θησαυρων αυτων και ενεπλησθη η γη ιππων και ουκ ην αριθμος των αρματων αυτων7 Their land has been filled with silver and gold. And there is no end to their storehouses.
και ενεπλησθη η γη βδελυγματων των εργων των χειρων αυτων και προσεκυνησαν οις εποιησαν οι δακτυλοι αυτων8 And their land has been filled with horses. And their four-horse chariots are innumerable. And their land has been filled with idols. They have adored the work of their hands, which their own fingers have made.
και εκυψεν ανθρωπος και εταπεινωθη ανηρ και ου μη ανησω αυτους9 And man has bowed himself down, and so man has become debased. Therefore, you should not forgive them.
και νυν εισελθετε εις τας πετρας και κρυπτεσθε εις την γην απο προσωπου του φοβου κυριου και απο της δοξης της ισχυος αυτου οταν αναστη θραυσαι την γην10 Enter into the rock, and hide in a ditch in the soil, from the presence of the fear of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty.
οι γαρ οφθαλμοι κυριου υψηλοι ο δε ανθρωπος ταπεινος και ταπεινωθησεται το υψος των ανθρωπων και υψωθησεται κυριος μονος εν τη ημερα εκεινη11 The lofty eyes of man have been humbled, and the haughtiness of men will be bowed down. Then the Lord alone shall be exalted, in that day.
ημερα γαρ κυριου σαβαωθ επι παντα υβριστην και υπερηφανον και επι παντα υψηλον και μετεωρον και ταπεινωθησονται12 For the day of the Lord of hosts will prevail over all the proud and self-exalted, and over all the arrogant, and each one shall be humbled,
και επι πασαν κεδρον του λιβανου των υψηλων και μετεωρων και επι παν δενδρον βαλανου βασαν13 and over all the straight and tall cedars of Lebanon, and over all the oaks of Bashan;
και επι παν ορος και επι παντα βουνον υψηλον14 and over all the lofty mountains, and over all the elevated hills;
και επι παντα πυργον υψηλον και επι παν τειχος υψηλον15 and over every lofty tower, and over every fortified wall;
και επι παν πλοιον θαλασσης και επι πασαν θεαν πλοιων καλλους16 and over all the ships of Tarshish, and over all the beauty that may be seen.
και ταπεινωθησεται πας ανθρωπος και πεσειται υψος ανθρωπων και υψωθησεται κυριος μονος εν τη ημερα εκεινη17 And the loftiness of men will be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men will be brought low. And the Lord alone shall be exalted, in that day.
και τα χειροποιητα παντα κατακρυψουσιν18 And idols will be thoroughly crushed.
εισενεγκαντες εις τα σπηλαια και εις τας σχισμας των πετρων και εις τας τρωγλας της γης απο προσωπου του φοβου κυριου και απο της δοξης της ισχυος αυτου οταν αναστη θραυσαι την γην19 And they will go into the caves of the rocks, and into the caverns of the earth, from the presence of the dread of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty, when he will have risen up to strike the earth.
τη γαρ ημερα εκεινη εκβαλει ανθρωπος τα βδελυγματα αυτου τα αργυρα και τα χρυσα α εποιησαν προσκυνειν τοις ματαιοις και ταις νυκτερισιν20 In that day, man shall cast aside his idols of silver and his images of gold, which he had made for himself, as if to reverence the moles and the bats.
του εισελθειν εις τας τρωγλας της στερεας πετρας και εις τας σχισμας των πετρων απο προσωπου του φοβου κυριου και απο της δοξης της ισχυος αυτου οταν αναστη θραυσαι την γην21 And so he will go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the caverns of stone, from the presence of the dread of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty, when he will have risen up to strike the earth.
Therefore, rest away from man, whose breath is in his nostrils, for he considers himself to be exalted.
