1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;	1 Écris à l’ange de l’Église qui est à Éphèse: Voici ce que dit celui qui a les sept étoiles en sa main, celui qui se promène entre les sept lampes d’or:
2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:	2 Je connais tes œuvres, tes fatigues et ta persévérance. Tu ne tolères pas ceux qui font le mal, mais tu as mis à l’épreuve ces prétendus apôtres qui ne le sont pas, et tu as vu qu’ils mentaient.
3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.	3 Et puis tu as du courage: tu as eu à souffrir pour mon nom et tu ne t’es pas lassé.
4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.	4 J’ai pourtant un reproche à te faire: tu as perdu ton amour du début.
5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.	5 Rappelle-toi d’où tu es tombé, reprends-toi et reviens à tes premières œuvres. Sinon je viendrai, si tu ne te reprends pas, et je déplacerai ta lampe de là où elle est.
6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.	6 Mais tu fais bien de détester ce que font les Nicolaïtes: moi aussi je le déteste.
7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.	7 Que celui qui a des oreilles écoute ce que l’Esprit dit aux Églises: Le vainqueur, je lui ferai manger du fruit de l’arbre de vie qui est dans le paradis de Dieu.
8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;	8 Écris à l’ange de l’Église qui est à Smyrne: Voici ce que dit le Premier et Dernier, qui était mort et est revenu à la vie:
9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.	9 Je connais tes épreuves et ta pauvreté (en réalité tu es riche) et les moqueries de ceux qui se proclament Juifs alors qu’ils ne le sont pas: leur synagogue est celle de Satan.
10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.	10 N’aie pas peur de ce que tu vas avoir à souffrir. Le diable fera mettre en prison plusieurs d’entre vous pour vous éprouver, et ce seront dix jours de persécution. Reste fidèle jusqu’à la mort et je te donnerai la couronne de vie.
11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.	11 Que celui qui a des oreilles écoute ce que dit l’Esprit aux Églises: "Le vainqueur n’aura pas à souffrir de la seconde mort.”
12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;	12 Écris à l’ange de l’Église qui est à Pergame: Voici ce que dit le porteur de l’épée aiguisée à double tranchant:
13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.	13 Je sais où tu habites: là même où est le trône de Satan. Mais tu n’as pas lâché mon nom et tu n’as pas renié ta foi, même quand on a tué Antipas, mon fidèle martyr. Et c’était chez vous, là où se loge Satan.
14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.	14 Pourtant j’ai quelque chose à te reprocher. Tu as chez toi des gens qui suivent les leçons de Balaam, celui qui enseignait à Balak le moyen de faire fauter les Israélites, par la prostitution et les viandes offertes aux idoles.
15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.	15 Ceux qui chez toi suivent les leçons des Nicolaïtes font tout pareil.
16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.	16 Donc reprends-toi, ou sinon j’irai te trouver et je combattrai ces gens avec l’épée qui sort de ma bouche.
17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.	17 Que celui qui a des oreilles écoute ce que l’Esprit dit aux Églises: "Le vainqueur, je lui donnerai la manne cachée; je lui donnerai un caillou blanc, et sur le caillou est gravé un nom nouveau que seul connaît celui qui le reçoit.”
18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;	18 Écris à l’ange de l’Église qui est à Thyatire: Voici ce que dit le Fils de Dieu dont les yeux sont une flamme de feu et dont les pieds sont comme bronze en fusion.
19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.	19 Je connais tes œuvres, ta charité, ta foi, tes services et ta persévérance. Tu as fait ces derniers temps plus encore que dans les débuts.
20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.	20 Mais je te reproche de tolérer ta Jézabel, cette femme soi-disant prophète qui enseigne mes serviteurs et les fait s’égarer, après quoi ils se prostituent et mangent les viandes consacrées aux idoles.
21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.	21 Je lui ai donné un délai pour se repentir, mais elle ne veut pas renoncer à sa prostitution.
22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.	22 Je vais donc la jeter sur un lit de malade; ceux qui commettent l’adultère avec elle, s’ils ne renoncent pas à ses œuvres, je les ferai aussi passer par une dure épreuve.
23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.	23 Ses enfants, je vais les frapper à mort: toutes les Églises sauront ainsi que je perce les secrets des reins et des cœurs et je rends à chacun selon ses œuvres.
24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.	24 Mais je dis aux autres, à vous tous de Thyatire qui ne suivez pas cette doctrine: Je ne vous frapperai pas, vous qui n’avez pas connu ses “secrets”, comme ils disent, et ce sont les secrets de Satan.
25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.	25 Seulement gardez bien jusqu’à ce que j’arrive ce que vous avez déjà.
26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:	26 Le vainqueur, celui qui aura gardé mes commandements jusqu’au bout, je lui donnerai autorité sur les nations
27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.	27 pour qu’il les mène avec une baguette de fer et qu’il les brise comme vases de terre:
28 And I will give him the morning star.	28 c’est le pouvoir que j’ai reçu de mon Père. Et je lui donnerai l’étoile du matin.
29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.	29 Que celui qui a des oreilles écoute ce que l’Esprit dit aux Églises!
