1 And there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Micah.	1 - Eravi in quel tempo un uomo della montagna di Efraim, per nome Mica,
2 And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou cursedst, and spakest of also in mine ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my son.	2 il quale disse a sua madre: «I mille e cento sicli d'argento che ti sei messa da parte e per i quali, me presente, hai pronunciato una maledizione, li ho io e sono presso di me». Essa gli rispose: «Sii benedetto, figliuol mio, dal Signore».
3 And when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.	3 Egli li rese adunque a sua madre che gli avea detto: «Consacrai e offrii in voto al Signore questo denaro, affinchè il figliuol mio lo riceva dalle mie mani e faccia fare un'immagine scolpita e fusa; ed ora io te li dò».
4 Yet he restored the money unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image and a molten image: and they were in the house of Micah.	4 Rese adunque i sicli a sua madre, che ne prese duecento per darli a un argentiere, perchè con essi facesse l'immagine scolpita e fusa, che fu poi nella casa di Mica.
5 And the man Micah had an house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.	5 Questi riservò in essa una cappella a Dio, e fece un efod e dei terafim, cioè una veste sacerdotale e degli idoli, poi consacrò uno de' figli suoi ad essere suo sacerdote.
6 In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.	6 A quei tempi non eravi in Israele alcun re, ma ciascuno faceva quel che gli pareva.
7 And there was a young man out of Bethlehemjudah of the family of Judah, who was a Levite, and he sojourned there.	7 Eranvi ancora un giovane, oriundo di Betleem di Giuda e appartenente alla parentela di Giuda. Egli era levita e abitava colà.
8 And the man departed out of the city from Bethlehemjudah to sojourn where he could find a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed.	8 Uscito dalla città di Betleem volle andar peregrinando ovunque meglio gli piacesse; e venuto cammin facendo nella montagna di Efraim e avendo deviato un po' verso la casa di Mica,
9 And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a Levite of Bethlehemjudah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place.	9 fu da costui interrogato donde venisse. «Sono un levita di Betleem di Giuda» rispose quegli «e vado per abitare ovunque potrò trovare un luogo che mi convenga».
10 And Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the Levite went in.	10 Mica gli disse: «Rimani in casa mia e sii per me padre e sacerdote, ed io ti darò ogni anno dieci sicli d'argento, un doppio vestito e tutto ciò che è necessario per il tuo sostentamento».
11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.	11 Il levita accettò e rimase in casa di quell'uomo, diventando quasi uno dei suoi figli.
12 And Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.	12 Mica consacrò il levita e tenendosi quel giovane presso di sè quale sacerdote, diceva:
13 Then said Micah, Now know I that the LORD will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to my priest.	13 «Ora son certo che il Signore mi benedirà avendo un sacerdote della stirpe levitica».
