KING JAMES BIBLENOVA VULGATA
Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;1 Ideo habentes hancministra tionem, iuxta quod misericor diam consecuti sumus, non deficimus,
But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.2 sedabdicavimus occulta dedecoris non ambulantes in astutia neque adulterantesverbum Dei, sed in manifestatione veritatis commendantes nosmetipsos ad omnemconscientiam hominum coram Deo.
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:3 Quod si etiam velatum est evangelium nostrum, in his, qui pereunt, estvelatum;
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.4 in quibus deus huius saeculi excaecavit mentes infidelium, ut nonfulgeat illuminatio evangelii gloriae Christi, qui est imago Dei.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.5 Non enimnosmetipsos praedicamus sed Iesum Christum Dominum; nos autem servos vestros perIesum.
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.6 Quoniam Deus, qui dixit: “ De tenebris lux splendescat ”, ipseilluxit in cordibus nostris ad illuminationem scientiae claritatis Dei in facieIesu Christi.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.7 Habemus autem thesaurum istum in vasis fictilibus, ut sublimitas sit virtutisDei et non ex nobis.
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;8 In omnibus tribulationem patimur, sed non angustiamur;aporiamur, sed non destituimur;
Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;9 persecutionem patimur, sed non derelinquimur;deicimur, sed non perimus;
Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.10 semper mortificationem Iesu in corporecircumferentes, ut et vita Iesu in corpore nostro manifestetur.
For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.11 Semper enimnos, qui vivimus, in mortem tradimur propter Iesum, ut et vita Iesu manifesteturin carne nostra mortali.
So then death worketh in us, but life in you.12 Ergo mors in nobis operatur, vita autem in vobis.
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;13 Habentes autem eundem spiritum fidei, sicut scriptum est: “ Credidi,propter quod locutus sum ”, et nos credimus, propter quod et loquimur,
Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.14 scientes quoniam, qui suscitavit Dominum Iesum, et nos cum Iesu suscitabit etconstituet vobiscum.
For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.15 Omnia enim propter vos, ut gratia abundans per multosgratiarum actionem abundare faciat in gloriam Dei.
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.16 Propter quod nondeficimus, sed licet is, qui foris est, noster homo corrumpitur, tamen is, quiintus est, noster renovatur de die in diem.
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;17 Id enim, quod in praesenti est,leve tribulationis nostrae supra modum in sublimitatem aeternum gloriae pondusoperatur nobis,
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.18 non contemplantibus nobis, quae videntur, sed quae nonvidentur; quae enim videntur, temporalia sunt, quae autem non videntur, aeternasunt.
