Zechariah 11

1 Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.	1 Spalanca, Libano, le tue porte e il fuoco divori i tuoi cedri!
2 Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.	2 Gemi, cipresso, perché il cedro è caduto, perché i colossi sono atterrati! Gemete, o querce di Basàn, perché l'impenetrabile foresta è abbattuta!
3 There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.	3 Si ode il lamento dei pastori, perché il loro vanto è abbattuto; si ode il ruggito dei leoni, perché l'orgoglio del Giordano è abbattuto!
4 Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;	4 Così mi disse il Signore: "Pasci il gregge destinato all'uccisione!
5 Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.	5 I suoi compratori lo uccidono impunemente e i suoi venditori dicono: Sia benedetto il Signore, eccomi ricco! E i suoi pastori non ne hanno pietà alcuna!
6 For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.	6 Io infatti non avrò più compassione alcuna degli abitanti della terra. Oracolo del Signore. Ecco, io li abbandonerò uno in mano del suo pastore e uno in mano del suo re; essi distruggeranno la terra, né io li libererò dalle loro mani!".
7 And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.	7 Allora presi a pascolare il gregge destinato all'uccisione da parte dei mercanti di pecore. Mi presi due bastoni: uno lo chiamai Benevolenza e l'altro lo chiamai Unione e pascolai le pecore.
8 Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.	8 Rimossi in un mese tre pastori. Ma mi spazientii delle pecore, poiché anch'esse mi avevano respinto.
9 Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.	9 Allora dissi: "Non voglio più pascervi. Chi muore, muoia, e chi si perde, si perda, e quelle che sopravvivono si sbranino a vicenda!".
10 And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it assunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.	10 Presi quindi il mio bastone Benevolenza e lo spezzai per annullare l'alleanza che il Signore aveva stipulato con tutti i popoli.
11 And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.	11 Fu spezzato in quello stesso giorno. I mercanti di pecore che mi osservavano compresero che quella era una parola del Signore.
12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.	12 Io dissi loro: "Se vi par giusto, datemi il mio salario; se no, lasciate stare!". Essi mi pesarono il mio salario: trenta sicli d'argento.
13 And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.	13 Il Signore mi disse: "Getta al fonditore il prezzo magnifico con cui sono stato stimato da loro!". Allora presi i trenta pezzi d'argento e li gettai nella casa del Signore, al fonditore.
14 Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.	14 Quindi spezzai l'altro mio bastone Unione, per spezzare la fratellanza fra Giuda e Israele.
15 And the LORD said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.	15 Il Signore mi disse: "Prenditi gli utensili di un pastore malvagio.
16 For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.	16 Perché, ecco, io susciterò un pastore nel paese; della sbandata egli non si prenderà cura, della smarrita non andrà in cerca, non medicherà la ferita e non nutrirà quella che sta in piedi. Ma delle pecore grasse egli mangerà la carne e strapperà loro le unghie!".
17 Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.	17 Guai al pastore malvagio, che trascura il suo gregge! Una spada sia sopra il suo braccio e sopra il suo occhio destro! Il suo braccio si paralizzi interamente e il suo occhio si spenga del tutto!
