1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.	1 Maria e Aronne parlarono contro Mosè, a causa della donna etiope che aveva preso. Infatti aveva sposato una donna etiope.
2 And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.	2 Dissero: «Il Signore ha forse parlato soltanto per mezzo di Mosè? Non ha parlato anche per mezzo nostro?». Il Signore udì.
3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)	3 Ora Mosè era un uomo assai umile, più di qualunque altro sulla faccia della terra.
4 And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.	4 Il Signore disse a un tratto a Mosè, ad Aronne e a Maria: «Uscite tutti e tre verso la tenda del convegno». Uscirono tutti e tre.
5 And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.	5 Il Signore scese in una colonna di nube, si fermò all’ingresso della tenda e chiamò Aronne e Maria. I due si fecero avanti.
6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.	6 Il Signore disse: «Ascoltate le mie parole! Se ci sarà un vostro profeta, io, il Signore, in visione a lui mi rivelerò, in sogno parlerò con lui.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.	7 Non così per il mio servo Mosè: egli è l’uomo di fiducia in tutta la mia casa.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?	8 Bocca a bocca parlo con lui, in visione e non per enigmi, ed egli contempla l’immagine del Signore. Perché non avete temuto di parlare contro il mio servo, contro Mosè?».
9 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.	9 L’ira del Signore si accese contro di loro ed egli se ne andò.
10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.	10 La nube si ritirò di sopra alla tenda ed ecco: Maria era lebbrosa, bianca come la neve. Aronne si volse verso Maria ed ecco: era lebbrosa.
11 And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.	11 Aronne disse a Mosè: «Ti prego, mio signore, non addossarci il peccato che abbiamo stoltamente commesso!
12 Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.	12 Ella non sia come il bambino nato morto, la cui carne è già mezza consumata quando esce dal seno della madre».
13 And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.	13 Mosè gridò al Signore dicendo: «Dio, ti prego, guariscila!».
14 And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.	14 Il Signore disse a Mosè: «Se suo padre le avesse sputato in viso, non ne porterebbe lei vergogna per sette giorni? Stia dunque isolata fuori dell’accampamento sette giorni; poi vi sarà riammessa».
15 And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.	15 Maria dunque rimase isolata, fuori dell’accampamento, sette giorni; il popolo non riprese il cammino, finché Maria non fu riammessa.
16 And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran.	16 Poi il popolo partì da Caseròt, e si accampò nel deserto di Paran.
