Hosea 10

1 Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.	1 - Israele vite pampinosa, il frutto le corrisponde appieno, ma pari all'abbondanza del frutto, abbondò in altari; secondo la produttività del territorio, ha prodotto dei simulacri.
2 Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images.	2 Il loro cuore è diviso, ma a momenti avranno la peggio. Egli infrangerà i loro simulacri e abbatterà i loro altari.
3 For now they shall say, We have no king, because we feared not the LORD; what then should a king do to us?	3 Eppure vanno ancora dicendo: - Re non abbiamo; Dio non temiamo; oh, e il re che ci farebbe? -
4 They have spoken words, swearing falsely in making a covenant: thus judgment springeth up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.	4 Voi pronunciate parole dietro vane previsioni; voi stringete alleanze; ma germinerà il giudizio come l'erba amara sui solchi del campo.
5 The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the calves of Beth-aven: for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.	5 Le vacche di Betaven sono corsi a venerare gli abitanti, perchè il popolo ha fatto lutto pel suo vitello; i suoi custodi trasalirono per la sua gloria, perchè è esulata da esso.
6 It shall be also carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.	6 Anche questo fu trasportato in Assiria in dono al vindice re; Efraim raccoglierà il disonore e Israele avrà l'infamia che si è voluta.
7 As for Samaria, her king is cut off as the foam upon the water.	7 Samaria ha fatto scomparire il suo re, come schiuma alla superficie delle acque.
8 The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us.	8 Anche le alture dell'idolo, peccato d'Israele, saranno devastate; i cardi e i pruni monteranno sui loro altari; ed essi diranno ai monti: - Ricopriteci -; e ai colli: - Cadete sopra di noi. -
9 O Israel, thou hast sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood: the battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity did not overtake them.	9 Dai giorni di Gabaa, Israele ha peccato; ivi si sono mantenuti! Non li raggiungerà in Gabaa la battaglia contro i figli dell'iniquità?
10 It is in my desire that I should chastise them; and the people shall be gathered against them, when they shall bind themselves in their two furrows.	10 A mia voglia anzi li castigherò: popoli si raduneranno contro di loro, quando saranno castigati delle loro raddoppiate iniquità.
11 And Ephraim is as an heifer that is taught, and loveth to tread out the corn; but I passed over upon her fair neck: I will make Ephraim to ride; Judah shall plow, and Jacob shall break his clods.	11 Efraim è una vitella avvezzata a godersi la trebbiatura. Ma io sono passato sul suo bel collo; Efraim io domerò, Giuda arerà, e Giacobbe fenderà i suoi solchi.
12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.	12 Seminate per voi a giustizia, raccoglierete a misura della misericordia; rinsolcate campi novali; tempo è già di ricercare il Signore, sì che venga e v'insegni la giustizia.
13 Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.	13 Araste l'empietà, avete mietuto la colpa; vi siete nutriti col frutto della menzogna: perchè ti sei confidato nei tuoi divisamenti, nella moltitudine dei tuoi valorosi.
14 Therefore shall a tumult arise among thy people, and all thy fortresses shall be spoiled, as Shalman spoiled Beth-arbel in the day of battle: the mother was dashed in pieces upon her children.	14 Si solleverà un tumulto nel tuo popolo e tutte le tue fortificazioni saranno distrutte, come Salman distrusse Beth-Arbel nel giorno di carneficina, rimanendo la madre sopra i figli schiacciata.
15 So shall Bethel do unto you because of your great wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.	15 Così fece a voi Betel, a causa della malizia delle vostre iniquità.
