KING JAMES BIBLEGREEK BIBLE
And they walked in the midst of the fire, praising God, and blessing the Lord.1 Εν τω τριτω ετει της βασιλειας του Ιωακειμ, βασιλεως του Ιουδα, ηλθε Ναβουχοδονοσορ ο βασιλευς της Βαβυλωνος εις Ιερουσαλημ και επολιορκησεν αυτην.
Then Azarias stood up, and prayed on this manner; and opening his mouth in the midst of the fire said,2 Και παρεδωκε Κυριος εις την χειρα αυτου τον Ιωακειμ, βασιλεα του Ιουδα, και μερος των σκευων του οικου του Θεου?
Blessed art thou, O Lord God of our fathers: thy name is worthy to be praised and glorified for evermore:3 Και ειπεν ο βασιλευς προς τον Ασφεναζ τον αρχιευνουχον αυτου, να φερη εκ των υιων Ισραηλ και εκ του σπερματος του βασιλικου και εκ των αρχοντων
For thou art righteous in all the things that thou hast done to us: yea, true are all thy works, thy ways are right, and all thy judgments truth.4 νεανισκους μη εχοντας μηδενα μωμον και ωραιους την οψιν και νοημονας εν παση σοφια και ειδημονας πασης γνωσεως και εχοντας φρονησιν και δυναμενους να ιστανται εν τω παλατιω του βασιλεως και να διδασκη αυτους τα γραμματα και την γλωσσαν των Χαλδαιων.
In all the things that thou hast brought upon us, and upon the holy city of our fathers, even Jerusalem, thou hast executed true judgment: for according to truth and judgment didst thou bring all these things upon us because of our sins.5 Και διεταξεν εις αυτους ο βασιλευς καθημερινην μεριδα απο των βασιλικων εδεσματων και απο του οινου, τον οποιον αυτος επινε?
For we have sinned and committed iniquity, departing from thee.6 Και μεταξυ τουτων ησαν, εκ των υιων Ιουδα, Δανιηλ, Ανανιας, Μισαηλ και Αζαριας?
In all things have we trespassed, and not obeyed thy commandments, nor kept them, neither done as thou hast commanded us, that it might go well with us.7 εις τους οποιους ο αρχιευνουχος επεθηκεν ονοματα?
Wherefore all that thou hast brought upon us, and every thing that thou hast done to us, thou hast done in true judgment.8 Αλλ' ο Δανιηλ εβαλεν εν τη καρδια αυτου να μη μιανθη απο των εδεσματων του βασιλεως ουδε απο του οινου τον οποιον εκεινος επινε?
And thou didst deliver us into the hands of lawless enemies, most hateful forsakers of God, and to an unjust king, and the most wicked in all the world.9 Και εκαμεν ο Θεος τον Δανιηλ να ευρη χαριν και ελεος ενωπιον του αρχιευνουχου.
And now we cannot open our mouths, we are become a shame and reproach to thy servants; and to them that worship thee.10 Και ειπεν ο αρχιευνουχος προς τον Δανιηλ, Εγω φοβουμαι τον κυριον μου τον βασιλεα, οστις διεταξε το φαγητον σας και το ποτον σας, μηποτε ιδη τα προσωπα σας σκυθρωποτερα παρα των νεανισκων των συνομηλικων σας, και ενοχοποιησητε την κεφαλην μου εις τον βασιλεα.
Yet deliver us not up wholly, for thy name's sake, neither disannul thou thy covenant:11 Και ειπεν ο Δανιηλ προς τον Αμελσαρ, τον οποιον ο αρχιευνουχος κατεστησεν επι τον Δανιηλ, τον Ανανιαν, τον Μισαηλ και τον Αζαριαν,
And cause not thy mercy to depart from us, for thy beloved Abraham's sake, for thy servant Issac's sake, and for thy holy Israel's sake;12 Δοκιμασον, παρακαλω, τους δουλους σου δεκα ημερας?
To whom thou hast spoken and promised, that thou wouldest multiply their seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand that lieth upon the seashore.13 επειτα ας θεωρηθωσι τα προσωπα ημων ενωπιον σου και το προσωπον των νεανισκων, οιτινες τρωγουσιν απο των εδεσματων του βασιλεως?
For we, O Lord, are become less than any nation, and be kept under this day in all the world because of our sins.14 Και εισηκουσεν αυτων εις τουτο το πραγμα και εδοκιμασεν αυτους δεκα ημερας.
Neither is there at this time prince, or prophet, or leader, or burnt offering, or sacrifice, or oblation, or incense, or place to sacrifice before thee, and to find mercy.15 Και μετα το τελος των δεκα ημερων τα προσωπα αυτων εφανησαν ωραιοτερα και παχυτερα εις την σαρκα παρα παντων των νεανισκων, οιτινες ετρωγον τα εδεσματα του βασιλεως.
Nevertheless in a contrite heart and an humble spirit let us be accepted.16 Και αφηρει ο Αμελσαρ το φαγητον αυτων και τον οινον τον οποιον επρεπε να πινωσι και εδιδεν εις αυτους οσπρια.
Like as in the burnt offerings of rams and bullocks, and like as in ten thousands of fat lambs: so let our sacrifice be in thy sight this day, and grant that we may wholly go after thee: for they shall not be confounded that put their trust in thee.17 Και εις τους τεσσαρας τουτους νεανισκους εδωκεν ο Θεος γνωσιν και συνεσιν εις πασαν μαθησιν και σοφιαν, και κατεστησε τον Δανιηλ νοημονα εις πασαν ορασιν και ενυπνιον.
And now we follow thee with all our heart, we fear thee, and seek thy face.18 Και εν τω τελει των ημερων, οτε ο βασιλευς ειπε να εισαξωσιν αυτους, ο αρχιευνουχος εισηξεν αυτους ενωπιον του Ναβουχοδονοσορ.
Put us not to shame: but deal with us after thy lovingkindness, and according to the multitude of thy mercies.19 Και ελαλησε μετ' αυτων ο βασιλευς?
Deliver us also according to thy marvellous works, and give glory to thy name, O Lord: and let all them that do thy servants hurt be ashamed;20 Και εν παση υποθεσει σοφιας και νοησεως, περι της οποιας ο βασιλευς ηρωτησεν αυτους, ευρηκεν αυτους δεκαπλασιως καλητερους παρα παντας τους μαγους και επαοιδους, οσοι ησαν εν παντι τω βασιλειω αυτου.
And let them be confounded in all their power and might, and let their strength be broken;21 Και διεμενεν ο Δανιηλ ουτως εως του πρωτου ετους Κυρου του βασιλεως.
And let them know that thou art God, the only God, and glorious over the whole world.
And the king's servants, that put them in, ceased not to make the oven hot with rosin, pitch, tow, and small wood;
So that the flame streamed forth above the furnace forty and nine cubits.
And it passed through, and burned those Chaldeans it found about the furnace.
But the angel of the Lord came down into the oven together with Azarias and his fellows, and smote the flame of the fire out of the oven;
And made the midst of the furnace as it had been a moist whistling wind, so that the fire touched them not at all, neither hurt nor troubled them.
Then the three, as out of one mouth, praised, glorified, and blessed, God in the furnace, saying,
Blessed art thou, O Lord God of our fathers: and to be praised and exalted above all for ever.
And blessed is thy glorious and holy name: and to be praised and exalted above all for ever.
Blessed art thou in the temple of thine holy glory: and to be praised and glorified above all for ever.
