1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,	1 Akkor az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
2 Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,	2 »Emberfia, fordítsd arcodat dél felé és beszélj Dél ellen, jövendölj a Délvidék erdeje ellen.
3 And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.	3 Ezt mondd a Délvidék erdejének: Halld az Úr szavát! Így szól az Úr Isten: Íme, tüzet gyújtok benned, és elégetek benned minden zöldellő fát és minden száraz fát. Senki sem oltja el a tűzvész lángját, s az egész terület, déltől északig, elhamvad majd benne.
4 Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:	4 És meglátja majd minden ember, hogy én, az Úr, gyújtottam fel azt, és senki sem oltja el.«
5 That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more.	5 Ekkor így szóltam: »Jaj, jaj, jaj, Uram Isten! Ezek azt mondják majd rólam: ‘Vajon nem talányokban beszél-e ez?’«.
6 Sigh therefore, thou son of man, with the breaking of thy loins; and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.	6 Ekkor az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
7 And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, For the tidings; because it cometh: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord GOD.	7 »Emberfia, fordítsd arcodat Jeruzsálem ellen, beszélj a szentély ellen és jövendölj Izrael földje ellen.
8 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,	8 Ezt mondd Izrael földjének: Így szól az Úr Isten: Íme, én ellened fordulok! Kirántom hüvelyéből kardomat és megölöm benned az igazat és az istentelent!
9 Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:	9 Hogy megöljem benned az igazat és az istentelent, azért megy ki hüvelyéből kardom minden ember ellen, déltől egészen északig;
10 It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, as every tree.	10 hadd tudja meg minden ember, hogy én, az Úr, rántottam ki hüvelyéből kardomat és az nem tér vissza többé!
11 And he hath give it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.	11 Te pedig, emberfia, sóhajts ágyékszakadásig, keserűséggel sóhajtozzál előttük.
12 Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: smite therefore upon thy thigh.	12 És ha mondják neked: ‘Miért sóhajtozol?’ – mondd nekik: Egy hír miatt, mert eljön az; akkor majd elbágyad minden szív, ellankad minden kéz, elcsügged minden lélek, és minden térd vízben ázik; íme, eljön ez és meglesz« – mondja az Úr Isten.
13 Because it is a trial, and what if the sword contemn even the rod? it shall be no more, saith the Lord GOD.	13 Az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
14 Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thine hands together, and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which entereth into their privy chambers.	14 »Emberfia, jövendölj és mondd: Így szól az Úr Isten: Beszélj! A kard, a kard meg van élesítve és ki van fenve!
15 I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.	15 Meg van élesítve, hogy leölje az áldozatokat; ki van fenve, hogy villogjon. Elmozdítod fiam jogarát, ledöntesz minden fát!
16 Go thee one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, whithersoever thy face is set.	16 Azért adtam fenésre, hogy kézben tartsák; meg van élesítve ez a kard és ki van fenve, hogy az öldöklő kezében legyen.
17 I will also smite mine hands together, and I will cause my fury to rest: I the LORD have said it.	17 Kiálts és jajgass, emberfia, mert az készen áll népem ellen, készen Izrael minden menekülő vezére ellen; a kard élére kerülnek népemmel együtt, ezért üss combodra.
18 The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,	18 Mert megállta a próbát; s mi lesz, ha majd megszünteti a jogart, és az nem lesz többé? – mondja az Úr Isten. –
19 Also, thou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come: both twain shall come forth out of one land: and choose thou a place, choose it at the head of the way to the city.	19 Te pedig, emberfia, jövendölj, és tapsolj kezeddel; sújtson kétszer a kard, sújtson háromszor az öldöklő kard! A nagy öldöklés kardja ez, mely megrémíti őket,
20 Appoint a way, that the sword may come to Rabbath of the Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defenced.	20 elbágyasztja szívüket, és naggyá teszi a pusztulást. Minden kapujukba odaállítom az éles kard rémségét, mely ki van fenve, hogy villogjon, melyet felkötnek, hogy öldököljön!
21 For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.	21 ‘Légy éles! Fordulj jobbra vagy balra, amerre csak kedve tartja élednek!’
22 At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort.	22 Mert én is tapsolok majd kezemmel és kitöltöm bosszúságomat; én, az Úr, szóltam!«
23 And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.	23 Aztán az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.	24 »Te pedig, emberfia, készíts magadnak két utat, hogy eljöjjön rajta Babilon királyának kardja; egy országból induljon ki mind a kettő. Faragj útjelzőt, a város felé vivő út kezdetén faragd ki.
25 And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity shall have an end,	25 Készíts utat, hogy eljöjjön a kard Ammon fiainak Rabbátja ellen, és Júda ellen, a jól megerősített Jeruzsálem ellen.
26 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high.	26 Mert Babilon királya megáll az út elágazásánál, a két út elején; jóslatot keres, rázza a nyilakat, megkérdezi a bálványokat, tanácsot keres a belső részekben.
27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.	27 Jeruzsálem ellen szól a sors, amely jobbkezébe jut, hogy faltörő kosokat állítson fel, hogy száját megnyissa az öldöklésre, hogy szavát csatakiáltásra emelje, hogy faltörő kosokat állítson a kapuk ellen, hogy töltést emeljen, hogy sáncokat építsen.
28 And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of the glittering:	28 Mint valami hamis jóslat áll ez előttük; az ő szemükben még hetek és hetek állnak rendelkezésükre; ő azonban a gonoszságra gondol, hogy ostromra keljen.
29 Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity shall have an end.	29 Ezért így szól az Úr Isten: Mivel emlékezetbe idéztétek gonoszságotokat és nyilvánosságra hoztátok törvényszegéseiteket, és bűneitek kitűnnek minden cselekedetetekből, mondom, mivelhogy emlékezetbe idéztétek ezeket, kézre kerültök!
30 Shall I cause it to return into his sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy nativity.	30 Te pedig, Izraelnek szentségtelen, gonosz fejedelme, kinek napja elérkezik a végső bűnhődés idején –
31 And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy.	31 így szól az Úr Isten – rakd le a süveget, vedd le a koronát! Egyik sem lesz többé ugyanaz! Az alacsony a magasba kerül, és a magas a mélybe.
32 Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.	32 Rommá, rommá, rommá teszem, és ez nem lesz többé, míg el nem jön Az, akit megillet az uralom, és neki nem adom.
	33 Te pedig, emberfia, jövendölj, és mondd: Így szól az Úr Isten Ammon fiaihoz és az ő gyalázkodásukhoz, és mondd: Kard! Kard! Kirántottalak hüvelyedből, hogy öldökölj, kifentelek, hogy gyilkolj és villogj,
	34 hogy mialatt rólad hiábavalóságokat látnak és hazugságokat jövendölnek, téged a megölésre szánt istentelenek nyakára tegyenek, akiknek napja elérkezik, mihelyt betelik a gonoszság kitűzött ideje.
	35 Térj vissza hüvelyedbe! Azon a helyen, ahol megteremtettek, a saját szülőföldeden ítéllek meg,
	36 és kiöntöm rád bosszúságomat. Haragom tüzével fújok rád és oktalan emberek kezébe adlak, akik a végpusztulást kovácsolják.
	37 A tűznek eledele leszel, folyni fog véred az ország közepén, feledésbe jutsz, mert én, az Úr, szóltam!«
