1 How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street.	1 ALEE. Come mai s'è oscurato l'oro, s'è cangiato il più bel colore, son disperse le pietre del santuario negli angoli di tutte le piazze? BET.
2 The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!	2 Gli illustri figli di Sion, vestiti d'oro finissimo, come mai sono stimati come vasi di terra, lavoro delle mani d'un vasaio? GIMMEL.
3 Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.	3 Persin le lamie nudaron le mammelle, e allattarono i loro piccoli; ma la figlia del mio popolo è divenuta crudele come lo struzzo nel deserto. DALET.
4 The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaketh it unto them.	4 La lingua del bambino di latte s'attaccò al suo palato dalla sete: i pargoletti domandaron del pane, e non v'era chi loro lo spezzasse. HE.
5 They that did feed delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills.	5 Quelli che banchettavano nelle delizie morirono in mezzo alle strade, quelli allevati nella porpora han brancicato escrementi. VAIE
6 For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.	6 L'iniquità delia figlia del popolo mio è stata più grande del peccato di Sodoma, che fu subissata in un istante, senza che nessuno vi mettesse mano; ZAIN.
7 Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire:	7 I suoi Nazzarei eran più candidi della neve, più bianchi del latte, più rubicondi dell'avorio antico, più belli dello zaffiro; HET.
8 Their visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaveth to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick.	8 La loro faccia è diventata più nera del carbone, non son riconosciuti per le strade; la loro pelle s'è attaccata alle loro ossa, è inaridita e diventata come legno. 9 They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.	9 Sono stati più felici gli uccisi dalla spada che quelli morti di fame; perchè questi son morti lentamente, consumati dalla sterilità della terra. TOD.
10 The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their meat in the destruction of the daughter of my people.	10 Le mani delle donne pietose fecero cuocere i loro figli, essi diventarono il loro cibo nella rovina della figlia del mio popolo. CAF.
11 The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof.	11 Il Signore ha sfogato il suo furore, ha versata l'ira sua furibonda, ha acceso in Sion un fuoco che ne ha divorate le fondamenta. LAMED.
12 The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.	12 Non credevano i re della terra e gli abitatori tutti del mondo che l'avversario, il nemico sarebbe entrato per le porte di Gerulemme. MEM.
13 For the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her,	13 Per i peccati dei suo i profeti, per le iniquità dei suoi sacerdoti, i quali sparsero in mezzo a lei il sangue dei giusti. NUN.
14 They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.	14 Andarono errando come ciechi per le piazze, lordati di sangue, e, non potendo far altro, si alzarono l'estremità della vesto: SAMEC.
15 They cried unto them, Depart ye; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there.	15 « Allontanatevi, impuri —loro si gridava, — allontanatevi, allontanatevi, non toccate ». Si son levati a rumore, si son agitati tra le nazioni e han detto: « Non si permetta che uno d'essi abiti (fra noi) ». FE.
16 The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.	16 La faccia del Signore li ha dispersi e non guarderà più a loro: non han portato rispetto ai sacerdoti, non hanno avuto compassione pei vecchi. AIN.
17 As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us.	17 Quando eravamo ancora in piedi, si stancarono i nostri occhi nell'attesa del nostro vano soccorso. Allora riguardavamo attenti verso una nazione che non poteva salvare. SADE.
18 They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come.	18 I nostri piedi sdrucciolarono nel camminare per le nostre piazze, prossima è la nostra fine, son compiuti i nostri giorni, il nostro termine è venuto. COF.
19 Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.	19 I nostri persecutori furon più veloci delle aquile del cielo, ci perseguitarono su per le montagne, ci tesero insidie nel deserto. RES.
20 The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.	20 Lo spirito della nostra becca, il Cristo Signore, è stato pre­so per i nostri peccati, lui, al qua­le dicemmo: « Sotto la tua ombra noi vivremo tra le nazioni ». SIN.
21 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked.	21 Rallegrati ed esulta, o figlia d'Edom. che abiti nella terra di Us; ma anche a te arriverà il ca­lice: sarai ubriacata e denudata. TAU.
22 The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover thy sins.	22 La tua iniquità ha termine, o figlia di Sion, non ti manderà più in esilio; Egli punirà la tua iniquità, o figlia d'Edom, metteràa nudo i tuoi peccati.
