Leviticus 12

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,	1 Yahvé dit à Moïse:
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean.	2 “Voici ce que tu diras aux Israélites: lorsqu’une femme aura été fécondée et donnera le jour à un garçon, elle sera impure durant sept jours comme elle est impure à la période de ses règles.
3 And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.	3 Le huitième jour l’enfant sera circoncis dans sa chair, son prépuce.
4 And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled.	4 Elle, elle restera 33 jours à se purifier de son sang, elle ne touchera aucune chose sainte et n’entrera pas dans le sanctuaire jusqu’au jour où s’achèvera le temps de sa purification.
5 But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.	5 Si elle a mis au monde une fille, elle sera impure durant deux semaines, comme au temps de ses règles, puis elle restera 66 jours à se purifier de son sang.
6 And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:	6 Lorsque le temps de sa purification sera accompli, pour un fils comme pour une fille, elle présentera au prêtre à l’entrée de la Tente du Rendez-Vous, un agneau d’un an pour l’holocauste et un jeune pigeon ou une tourterelle pour le sacrifice pour le péché.
7 Who shall offer it before the LORD, and make an atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a male or a female.	7 Le prêtre les offrira devant Yahvé et fera pour elle l’expiation, alors elle sera pure de son flux de sang. Voici la loi concernant la femme qui met au monde un fils ou une fille.
8 And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.	8 Si la femme n’a pas de quoi se procurer un agneau, elle prendra deux tourterelles ou deux jeunes pigeons, l’un pour l’holocauste et l’autre pour le sacrifice pour le péché. Le prêtre fera pour elle l’expiation et elle sera purifiée.”
