1 Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.	1 16:2 Comme des oiseaux errants, qu’on a chassés du nid les filles de Moab s’arrêtent aux gués de l’Arnon.
2 For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon.	2 16:1De Séla, proche du désert, on envoie les agneaux au mont de la fille de Sion: ne sont-ils pas seigneurs du pays?
3 Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth.	3 On leur fait dire: Tenez un conseil, prenez une décision: que même en plein midi ton ombre vaille celle de la nuit, cache les exilés, ne trahis pas les fugitifs.
4 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.	4 Que les exilés de Moab puissent se réfugier chez toi, sois leur asile face au pillard, le temps que disparaisse l’oppresseur que la destruction prenne fin et que celui qui piétine abandonne le pays,
5 And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.	5 (Oui, le trône sera rétabli, stable grâce à l’esprit de bonté. Un chef aimant le droit, passionné de justice, siégera sur ce trône en toute loyauté dans la tente de David.)
6 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.	6 Nous en savons assez sur l’orgueil de Moab, du très orgueilleux Moab, sur ses prétentions, son insolence, sa fierté et ses bavardages qui ne mènent à rien.
7 Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the foundations of Kir-hareseth shall ye mourn; surely they are stricken.	7 Laissons Moab se lamenter sur Moab, laissons le pays à ses pleurs. Abattus, vous gémissez, vous regrettez vos gâteaux de raisins de Kir-Ha-Résset.
8 For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah: the lords of the heathen have broken down the principal plants thereof, they are come even unto Jazer, they wandered through the wilderness: her branches are stretched out, they are gone over the sea.	8 Les vignobles de Heshbon se flétrissent, les rois des nations ont saccagé les beaux raisins des vignes de Sibma. Elles s’étendaient jadis jusqu’à Yazer, elles s’avançaient jusqu’au désert, leurs rejetons s’allongeaient au-delà de la mer.
9 Therefore I will bewail with the weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the shouting for thy summer fruits and for thy harvest is fallen.	9 C’est pourquoi je prends part au deuil de Yazer, pour ses vignes de Sibma. Je verse sur vous mes larmes, Heshbon, Éléalé. Car on n’entend plus le chant du paysan ni sur ta récolte, ni sur ta moisson.
10 And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting: the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses; I have made their vintage shouting to cease.	10 La joie et la fête ont disparu de tes vergers: plus un chant, plus une clameur dans tes vignes! Nul déjà ne foule le raisin dans tes cuves, c’est fini de leurs cris joyeux.
11 Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kir-haresh.	11 Voilà pourquoi, pensant à Moab, je sens mes intérieurs vibrer comme une harpe et mon cœur en moi frémit pour Kir-Hérès.
12 And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.	12 Moab peut venir et s’agiter sur le haut-lieu, entrer dans son temple pour prier, cela ne changera rien.
13 This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning Moab since that time.	13 C’est là la parole que Yahvé prononça jadis au sujet de Moab.
14 But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.	14 Et maintenant Yahvé dit ceci: Encore trois années comptées comme celles d’un salarié, et toute la gloire de Moab, de ce peuple nombreux, sera par terre; ce qui en restera sera peu de chose et de peu de valeur.
