Psalms 106

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.	1 Alleluia! Rendez grâce à Yahvé, car il est bon, car éternel est son amour!
2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?	2 Qui dira les prouesses de Yahvé, fera retentir toute sa louange?
3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.	3 Heureux qui observe le droit, qui pratique en tout temps la justice!
4 Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;	4 Souviens-toi de moi, Yahvé, par amour de ton peuple, visite-moi par ton salut,
5 That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.	5 que je voie le bonheur de tes élus, joyeux de la joie de ton peuple, glorieux avec ton héritage!
6 We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.	6 Nous avons failli avec nos pères, nous avons dévié, renié;
7 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.	7 nos pères en Egypte n'ont pas compris tes merveilles. Ils n'eurent pas souvenir de ton grandamour, ils bravèrent le Très-Haut à la mer des Joncs.
8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.	8 Il les sauva à cause de son nom, pour faire connaître sa prouesse.
9 He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.	9 Il menaça la mer des Joncs, elle sécha, il les mena sur l'abîme comme au désert,
10 And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.	10 les sauva de la main de l'ennemi, les racheta de la main de l'adversaire.
11 And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.	11 Et les eaux recouvrirent leurs oppresseurs, pas un d'entre eux n'échappa.
12 Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.	12 Alors ils eurent foi en ses paroles, ils chantèrent sa louange.
13 They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:	13 Ils coururent oublier ses actions, ils n'attendirent pas même son projet;
14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.	14 ils brûlaient de désir dans le désert, ils tentaient Dieu parmi les solitudes.
15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.	15 Il leur accorda leur demande: il envoya la fièvre dans leur âme;
16 They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.	16 ils jalousèrent Moïse dans le camp, Aaron le saint de Yahvé.
17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.	17 La terre s'ouvre, elle avale Datân et recouvre la bande d'Abiram;
18 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.	18 un feu s'allume contre leur bande, une flamme embrase les renégats.
19 They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.	19 Ils fabriquèrent un veau en Horeb, se prosternèrent devant une fonte;
20 Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.	20 ils échangèrent leur gloire pour l'image du boeuf mangeur d'herbe.
21 They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;	21 Ils oubliaient Dieu qui les sauvait, l'auteur de grandes choses en Egypte,
22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.	22 de merveilles en terre de Cham, d'épouvantes sur la mer des Joncs.
23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.	23 Il parlait de les supprimer, si ce n'est que Moïse son élu se tint sur la brèche devant lui pourdétourner son courroux de détruire.
24 Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:	24 Ils refusèrent une terre de délices, ils n'eurent pas foi en sa parole;
25 But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.	25 ils murmurèrent sous leurs tentes, ils n'écoutèrent pas la voix de Yahvé.
26 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:	26 Il leva la main sur eux, pour les abattre au désert,
27 To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.	27 pour abattre leur lignée chez les païens, pour les parsemer dans les pays.
28 They joined themselves also unto Baal-peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.	28 Ils se mirent au joug de Baal-Péor et mangèrent les sacrifices des morts.
29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.	29 Ils l'indignèrent par leurs pratiques, un fléau éclata contre eux.
30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.	30 Alors se lève Pinhas, il tranche, alors s'arrête le fléau;
31 And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.	31 justice lui en est rendue d'âge en âge et pour toujours.
32 They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:	32 Ils le fâchèrent aux eaux de Meriba; mal en prit à Moïse par leur faute,
33 Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.	33 car ils aigrirent son esprit et ses lèvres parlèrent trop vite.
34 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:	34 Ils ne supprimèrent pas les peuples, ceux que Yahvé leur avait dits,
35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.	35 et ils se mêlaient aux païens, ils apprenaient leurs manières d'agir.
36 And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.	36 Ils en servaient les idoles, elles devenaient pour eux un piège!
37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,	37 Ils avaient sacrifié leurs fils et leurs filles aux démons.
38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.	38 Ils versaient le sang innocent, le sang de leurs fils et de leurs filles qu'ils sacrifiaient aux idolesde Canaan, et le pays fut profané de sang.
39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.	39 Ils se souillaient par leurs actions, ils se prostituaient par leurs pratiques;
40 Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.	40 Yahvé prit feu contre son peuple, il eut en horreur son héritage.
41 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.	41 Il les livra aux mains des païens, leurs ennemis devinrent leurs maîtres;
42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.	42 leurs adversaires furent leurs tyrans, ils furent courbés sous leur main.
43 Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.	43 Mainte et mainte fois il les délivra, mais eux par bravade se révoltaient et s'enfonçaient dans leurtort;
44 Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:	44 il eut un regard pour leur détresse alors qu'il entendait leur cri.
45 And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.	45 Il se souvint pour eux de son alliance, il s'émut selon son grand amour;
46 He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.	46 il leur donna d'apitoyer tous ceux qui les tenaient captifs.
47 Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.	47 Sauve-nous, Yahvé notre Dieu, rassemble-nous du milieu des païens afin de rendre grâce à tonsaint nom, de nous féliciter en ta louange.
	48 Béni soit Yahvé le Dieu d'Israël depuis toujours jusqu'à toujours! Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!
