Psalms 1

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.1 Blessed is the man who has not followed the counsel of the impious, and has not remained in the way of sinners, and has not sat in the chair of pestilence.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.2 But his will is with the law of the Lord, and he will meditate on his law, day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.3 And he will be like a tree that has been planted beside running waters, which will provide its fruit in its time, and its leaf will not fall away, and all things whatsoever that he does will prosper.
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.4 Not so the impious, not so. For they are like the dust that the wind casts along the face of the earth.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.5 Therefore, the impious will not prevail again in judgment, nor sinners in the council of the just.
For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.6 For the Lord knows the way of the just. And the path of the impious will pass away.
