1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.	1 - Allora Mosè ed i figli di Israele cantarono al Signore questo cantico, e dissero: «Cantiamo al Signore, poichè s'è mostrato grandemente glorioso, ha precipitato in mare il cavallo e il cavaliere.
2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.	2 Mia fortezza e mia lode è il Signore, è stato egli la mia salute;Egli è il mio Dio, e lo glorificherò, il Dio di mio padre, e lo esalterò.
3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.	3 Il Signore è come un guerriero; il suo nome è l' Onnipotente.
4 Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.	4 Ha travolto nel mare i carri del Faraone ed il suo esercito; gli scelti suoi condottieri son stati sommersi nel Mar Rosso.
5 The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.	5 Gli abissi li inghiottirono; caddero al fondo come una pietra.
6 Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.	6 La tua destra, Signore, s' è mostrata grande in potenza; la tua destra, Signore, ha percosso il nemico.
7 And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble.	7 Con la grandezza della tua gloria hai atterrato i tuoi avversari; hai dato corso alla tua collera, che li ha consumati come paglia.
8 And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.	8 Al soffio del tuo furore, le acque si sono ammonticchiate; l'onda fluente s'è fermata; i flutti si sono arrestati in mezzo al mare.
9 The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.	9 Disse il nemico: - Li inseguirò, li raggiungerò, spartirò le loro spoglie, sazierò la mia voglia, sguainerò la mia spada, la mia mano li sterminerà.-
10 Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.	10 Ma il tuo fiato soffiò, ed il mare li ricoprì; furon sommersi come piombo nell'acque impetuose.
11 Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?	11 Chi tra i forti è simile a te, Signore?chi è simile a te, magnifico in santità, terribile e degno di lode, operator di prodigi?
12 Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.	12 Tu hai steso la mano, e la terra li ha inghiottiti.
13 Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.	13 Nella tua misericordia, ti sei fatto guida al popolo che tu hai liberato, e con la tua potenza l'hai portato alla tua santa dimora.
14 The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.	14 I popoli si son levati, si sono sdegnati; il dolore s'è impossessato degli abitanti tra' Filistei.
15 Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.	15 Ecco, han tremato i principi d' Edom; il terrore ha preso i forti di Moab; tutti gli abitanti di Canaan sono agghiacciati.
16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.	16 Cada su d'essi timore e tremore; per la forza del tuo braccio divengano immobili come pietra, sinchè sia passato il tuo popolo, Signore, sinchè sia passato questo tuo popolo che ti sei acquistato.
17 Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established.	17 Li introdurrai, e li stabilirai sul monte della tua eredità,.nella ben fondata dimora che ti sei fabbricato, Signore: il tuo santuario, Signore, che le tue mani han stabilito.
18 The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.	18 Il Signore regnerà in eterno, e al di là.»
19 For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.	19 Il Faraone infatti entrò a cavallo, co' suoi carri e cavalieri, nel mare, ed il Signore ricondusse su loro le acque del mare; ma i figli d' Israele vi passarono in mezzo, all'asciutto.
20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.	20 Maria poi, profetessa, sorella d'Aronne, prese in mano un timpano, e dietro a lei andaron tutte le donne coi timpani, in coro.
21 And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.	21 Alle quali essa intonava il canto, dicendo: «Cantiamo al Signore, perché s'è mostrato grandemente glorioso; ha precipitato in mare il cavallo e il suo cavaliere.»
22 So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.	22 Mosè dunque condusse via Israele dal Mar Rosso, e giunsero al deserto di Sur; camminarono tre giorni nel deserto e non trovarono, acqua.
23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.	23 Poi vennero in Mara; ma non potevan bere le acque di Mara, perchè erano amare; perciò fu messo a quel luogo un nome adattato, chiamandolo " Mara ", cioè " Amarezza ".
24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?	24 Il popolo mormorò contro Mosè, dicendo: «Cosa beveremo?».
25 And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,	25 Ma egli si rivolse al Signore, il quale gli mostrò un certo legno; messo questo nell'acque, divennero dolci. Ivi ancora [il Signore] dette al popolo dei precetti e delle leggi, e lo mise a prova,
26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.	26 dicendo: «Se ascolterai la voce del Signore Dio tuo, se farai quello che è giusto davanti a lui, se obbedirai ai suoi comandamenti ed osserverai tutti i suoi ordini, non farò venire su te nessuno dei mali da me mandati in Egitto. Io infatti [sono] il Signore che ti guarisco».
27 And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.	27 Dipoi vennero i figli d'Israele in Elim, ov'erano dodici fonti d'acqua, e settanta palme, e s'accamparono presso quelle acque.
