1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.	1 Ora la regina di Saba, udita la fama di Salomone, venne a Gerusalemme per mettere alla prova Salomone con enigmi, con un seguito numerosissimo, con cammelli carichi di aromi, di oro in gran quantità e di pietre preziose. Presentatasi a Salomone, parlò con lui di tutto ciò che le stava a cuore.
2 And Solomon told her all her questions: and there was nothing hid from Solomon which he told her not.	2 Salomone rispose a tutte le sue questioni e nessuna rimase occulta a Salomone in modo da non potergliela spiegare.
3 And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,	3 Quando la regina di Saba vide la sapienza di Salomone, il palazzo che aveva costruito,
4 And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel; his cupbearers also, and their apparel; and his ascent by which he went up into the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.	4 le pietanze della sua mensa, la dimora dei suoi servi, la tenuta dei suoi ministri e le loro divise, i suoi coppieri e le loro vesti e gli olocausti che offriva nel tempio del Signore, restò senza respiro.
5 And she said to the king, It was a true report which I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom:	5 Disse al re: "Era dunque vero ciò che avevo sentito nella mia terra circa le tue imprese e la tua sapienza.
6 Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard.	6 Non volli credere a ciò che si diceva, finché non sono giunta qui e i miei occhi hanno visto; orbene, non mi fu riferita neppure la metà della grandezza della tua sapienza; tu superi la fama di cui avevo sentito parlare.
7 Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.	7 Beati i tuoi uomini e beati questi tuoi servi, che stanno continuamente alla tua presenza e ascoltano la tua sapienza.
8 Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the LORD thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.	8 Sia benedetto il Signore, tuo Dio, che si è compiaciuto in te e ti ha posto sul suo trono come re per il Signore, tuo Dio. Il tuo Dio ama Israele e vuole che resti per sempre, per questo ti ha posto quale re sopra di loro per esercitare il diritto e la giustizia".
9 And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave king Solomon.	9 Indi ella fece dono al re di centoventi talenti d'oro, aromi in grande quantità e pietre preziose. Non ci furono mai aromi come quelli che la regina di Saba diede al re Salomone.
10 And the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, which brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones.	10 I servi di Curam e i servi di Salomone, che avevano trasportato oro da Ofir, portarono legname di sandalo e pietre preziose.
11 And the king made of the algum trees terraces to the house of the LORD, and to the king's palace, and harps and psalteries for singers: and there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.	11 Col legname di sandalo il re fece le scale per il tempio del Signore e per il palazzo reale, inoltre cetre e arpe per i cantori; nel paese di Giuda non si era visto prima nulla di simile.
12 And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which she had brought unto the king. So she turned, and went away to her own land, she and her servants.	12 Il re Salomone diede alla regina di Saba tutto ciò che desiderò e chiese, oltre all'equivalente di quanto ella aveva portato al re. Quindi se ne ritornò nel suo paese, lei e i suoi servitori.
13 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and threescore and six talents of gold;	13 Il peso dell'oro che giungeva a Salomone in un solo anno era di seicentosessantasei talenti d'oro,
14 Beside that which chapmen and merchants brought. And all the kings of Arabia and governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.	14 senza tener conto dei contributi dei trafficanti e dei commercianti. Tutti i re dell'Arabia e i governatori del paese portavano oro e argento a Salomone.
15 And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to one target.	15 Il re Salomone fece fare duecento grandi scudi di oro battuto, per ognuno dei quali adoperò seicento sicli di oro,
16 And three hundred shields made he of beaten gold: three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield. And the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.	16 e trecento scudi minori di oro battuto, per ognuno dei quali adoperò trecento sicli di oro. Il re li depose nel palazzo della foresta del Libano.
17 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.	17 Il re fece anche un grande trono d'avorio, che ricoprì di oro puro.
18 And there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and stays on each side of the sitting place, and two lions standing by the stays:	18 Il trono aveva sei gradini e uno sgabello d'oro, braccioli da una parte e dall'altra del sedile e due leoni che stavano a fianco dei braccioli.
19 And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps. There was not the like made in any kingdom.	19 Dodici leoni stavano sui sei gradini, di qua e di là. In nessun regno fu mai eseguito qualcosa di simile.
20 And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was not any thing accounted of in the days of Solomon.	20 Tutto il vasellame per bere appartenente al re Salomone era d'oro e tutta la suppellettile del palazzo della foresta del Libano era d'oro fino. Al tempo di Salomone l'argento non era stimato per niente.
21 For the king's ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram: every three years once came the ships of Tarshish bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.	21 Il re infatti possedeva delle navi che andavano a Tarsis con i marinai di Curam. Ogni tre anni le navi da Tarsis ritornavano cariche d'oro, d'argento, d'avorio, di scimmie e di pavoni.
22 And king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.	22 Il re Salomone superò tutti i re della terra per ricchezza e sapienza.
23 And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.	23 Tutti i re della terra desideravano essere ammessi alla presenza di Salomone per ascoltare la sapienza che Dio gli aveva posto nel cuore.
24 And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and raiment, harness, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.	24 Ognuno di essi, anno per anno, gli portava il proprio dono, oggetti d'argento e oggetti d'oro, vesti, armi, aromi, cavalli e muli.
25 And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.	25 Salomone ebbe quattromila mute di cavalli e di carri e dodicimila cavalieri, che distribuì nelle città dei carri e presso il re a Gerusalemme.
26 And he reigned over all the kings from the river even unto the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt.	26 Egli dominò su tutti i re dal fiume (Eufrate) fino al paese dei Filistei e fino al confine dell'Egitto.
27 And the king made silver in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the low plains in abundance.	27 Il re fece in modo che in Gerusalemme l'argento fosse come i sassi e i cedri come i sicomori così numerosi nella Sefela.
28 And they brought unto Solomon horses out of Egypt, and out of all lands.	28 Da Muzri e da tutti i paesi si importavano cavalli per Salomone.
29 Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer against Jeroboam the son of Nebat?	29 Il resto delle gesta di Salomone, le prime e le ultime, non sono forse scritte negli Atti di Natan profeta e nella profezia di Achia di Silo e nelle Visioni del veggente Iddo riguardanti Geroboamo figlio di Nebàt?
30 And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.	30 Salomone regnò in Gerusalemme su tutto Israele per quarant'anni.
31 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.	31 Poi Salomone si addormentò con i suoi padri e fu sepolto nella Città di Davide, suo padre. Al suo posto divenne re Roboamo, suo figlio.
