1 And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.	1 - Davide si costruì delle case nella città di Davide ed edificò un luogo per l'arca di Dio e vi piantò un tabernacolo.
2 Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.	2 Allora Davide disse: «Nessuno deve portare l'arca di Dio, tranne i leviti, che il Signore ha scelti per portarla e per essere suoi ministri in eterno».
3 And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto his place, which he had prepared for it.	3 Riunì allora tutto Israele in Gerusalemme per portar l'arca di Dio nel luogo che le aveva preparato.
4 And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:	4 Convocò ancora i figli di Aronne e i leviti.
5 Of the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:	5 Dei figli di Caat il principe fu Uriel e i fratelli di lui furono centoventi;
6 Of the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty:	6 dei figli di Merari il principe fu Asaia e i fratelli di lui duecentoventi;
7 Of the sons of Gershom; Joel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and thirty:	7 dei figli di Gersom fu principe Joel e i fratelli di lui furono centotrenta;
8 Of the sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred:	8 dei figli di Elisafan Semeia fu il principe e i fratelli di lui furono duecento;
9 Of the sons of Hebron; Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore:	9 dei figli di Ebron fu principe Eliel e i fratelli di lui ottanta;
10 Of the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twelve.	10 dei figli di Oziel Aminadab fu principe e i fratelli di lui centododici.
11 And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,	11 Chiamò Davide anche Sadoc e Abiatar sacerdoti e i leviti Uriel, Asaia, Joel, Semeia, Eliel e Aminadab,
12 And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.	12 e disse loro: «Voi che siete i principi delle famiglie dei leviti, santificatevi insieme coi vostri fratelli, e portate l'arca del Signore Dio di Israele al luogo che le è stato preparato,
13 For because ye did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.	13 affinchè come da principio, per non essere voi stati presenti, il Signore ci castigò, così non avvenga altrettanto anche al presente, qualora noi facessimo qualche cosa illecita».
14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel.	14 I sacerdoti e i leviti adunque si santificarono per portare l'arca del Signore Dio d'Israele.
15 And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD.	15 E i figli di Levi portarono l'arca di Dio come avea comandato Mosè dietro l'ordine del Signore sulle loro spalle, per mezzo di bastoni.
16 And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.	16 Disse ancora Davide ai principi dei leviti che stabilissero tra i loro fratelli dei cantori con istrumenti di musica, con liuti, lire, cembali, che dovevano far sonare vigorosamente in segno di gioia.
17 So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;	17 Ed essi stabilirono questi leviti: Eman figlio di Joel, e tra i suoi fratelli: Asaf figlio di Barachia; tra i figli di Merari loro fratelli: Etan figlio di Casaia,
18 And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the porters.	18 e con essi i loro fratelli; di second'ordine: Zaccaria, Ben, Jaziel, Semiramot, Jaiel, Ani, Eliab, Banaia, Maasia, Matatia, Elifalu, Macenia, Obededom e Jeiel portieri.
19 So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;	19 I cantori Eman, Asaf, Etan, aveano dei cembali di bronzo che facevano sonare;
20 And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on Alamoth;	20 mentre Zaccaria, Oziel, Semiramot, Jaiel, Ani, Eliab, Maasia e Banaia sonavano con liuti inni misteriosi.
21 And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.	21 Matatia ed Elifalu, Macenia, Obededom, Jeiel e Ozaziu cantavano sulle cetre a otto corde inni di vittoria.
22 And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.	22 Conenia principe dei leviti, presiedeva al canto e dirigeva la musica, nel che era molto valente.
23 And Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.	23 Barachia e Elcana erano i portieri dell'arca,
24 And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.	24 mentre Sebenia, Josafat, Natanael, Amasai, Zaccaria, Banaia e Eliezer sacerdoti sonavano colle trombe dinanzi all'arca di Dio e Obededom e Jeia erano portieri dell'arca.
25 So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.	25 Adunque Davide e tutti gli anziani d'Israele e i tribuni andarono per trasportare con letizia l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore dalla casa di Obededom.
26 And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.	26 Avendo Dio aiutato i leviti, che portavano l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore, furono immolati sette tori e sette arieti.
27 And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.	27 Davide poi era vestito di un manto di bisso; parimenti tutti i leviti che portavano l'arca, i cantori e Conena capo del coro dei cantori. Davide poi era anche vestito di un efod di lino.
28 Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.	28 Tutto Israele accompagnava l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore tra i tripudi e al suono di corni, di trombe, di cembali, di liuti e di cetre che si facevano risonare.
29 And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.	29 Pervenuta che fu l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore fino alla città di Davide, Micol figlia di Saul guardando dalla finestra vide il re Davide, che saltava e danzava e lo disprezzò in cuor suo.
