KING JAMES BIBLEJERUSALEM
In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.1 De son temps, Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, fit campagne, et Joiaqim lui fut soumis pendanttrois ans puis se révolta de nouveau contre lui.
And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets.2 Celui-ci envoya sur lui les bandes des Chaldéens, celles des Araméens, celles des Moabites, cellesdes Ammonites, il les envoya sur Juda pour le détruire, conformément à la parole que Yahvé avait prononcée parle ministère de ses serviteurs les prophètes.
Surely at the commandment of the LORD came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did;3 Cela arriva à Juda uniquement à cause de la colère de Yahvé, qui voulait l'écarter de devant sa face, pour les péchés de Manassé, pour tout ce qu'avait fait celui-ci
And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.4 et aussi pour le sang innocent qu'il avait répandu, inondant Jérusalem de sang innocent. Yahvé nevoulut pas pardonner.
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?5 Le reste de l'histoire de Joiaqim et tout ce qu'il a fait, cela n'est-il pas écrit au livre des Annales desrois de Juda?
So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.6 Joiaqim se coucha avec ses pères et Joiakîn son fils régna à sa place.
And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his land: for the king of Babylon had taken from the river of Egypt unto the river Euphrates all that pertained to the king of Egypt.7 Le roi d'Egypte ne sortit plus de son pays, car le roi de Babylone avait conquis, depuis le Torrentd'Egypte jusqu'au fleuve de l'Euphrate, tout ce qui appartenait au roi d'Egypte.
Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother's name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.8 Joiakîn avait dix-huit ans à son avènement et il régna trois mois à Jérusalem; sa mère s'appelaitNehushta, fille d'Elnatân, et était de Jérusalem.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father had done.9 Il fit ce qui déplaît à Yahvé, tout comme avait fait son père.
At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.10 En ce temps-là, les officiers de Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, marchèrent contre Jérusalem etla ville fut investie.
And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, and his servants did besiege it.11 Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, vint lui-même attaquer la ville, pendant que ses officiersl'assiégeaient.
And Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.12 Alors Joiakîn, roi de Juda, se rendit au roi de Babylone, lui, sa mère, ses officiers, ses dignitaires etses eunuques, et le roi de Babylone les fit prisonniers; c'était en la huitième année de son règne.
And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said.13 Celui-ci emporta tous les trésors du Temple de Yahvé et les trésors du palais royal et il brisa tousles objets d'or que Salomon, roi d'Israël, avait fabriqués pour le sanctuaire de Yahvé, comme l'avait annoncéYahvé.
And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.14 Il emmena en exil tout Jérusalem, tous les dignitaires et tous les notables, soit 10.000 exilés, ettous les forgerons et serruriers; seule fut laissée la plus pauvre population du pays.
And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.15 Il déporta Joiakîn à Babylone; de même la mère du roi, les femmes du roi, ses eunuques, les noblesdu pays, il les fit partir en exil de Jérusalem à Babylone.
And all the men of might, even seven thousand, and craftsmen and smiths a thousand, all that were strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.16 Tous les gens de condition, au nombre de 7.000, les forgerons et les serruriers, au nombre de mille, tous les hommes en état de porter les armes, furent conduits en exil à Babylone par le roi de Babylone.
And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his father's brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.17 Le roi de Babylone établit roi à la place de Joiakîn son oncle Mattanya, dont il changea le nom encelui de Sédécias.
Zedekiah was twenty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.18 Sédécias avait vingt ans à son avènement et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem; sa mère s'appelaitHamital, fille de Yirmeyahu, et était de Libna.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.19 Il fit ce qui déplaît à Yahvé, tout comme avait fait Joiaqim.
For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.20 Cela arriva à Jérusalem et à Juda à cause de la colère de Yahvé, tant qu'enfin il les rejeta de devantsa face. Sédécias se révolta contre le roi de Babylone.
