1 And the king sent, and they gathered unto him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem.	1 El rey hizo convocar a su lado a todos los ancianos de Judá y de Jerusalén,
2 And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the LORD.	2 y subió el rey a la Casa de Yahveh con todos los hombres de Judá y todos los habitantes de Jerusalén; los sacerdotes, los profetas y todo el pueblo desde el menor al mayor; y leyó a sus oídos todas las palabras del libro de la alianza hallado en la Casa de Yahveh.
3 And the king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all their heart and all their soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant.	3 El rey estaba de pie junto a la columna; hizo en presencia de Yahveh la alianza para andar tras de Yahveh y guardar sus mandamientos, sus testimonios y sus preceptos con todo el corazón y toda el alma, y para poner en vigor las palabras de esta alianza escritas en este libro. Todo el pueblo confirmó la alianza.
4 And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel.	4 El rey ordenó a Jilquías, al segundo de los sacerdotes y a los encargados del umbral que sacaran del santuario de Yahveh todos los objetos que se habían hecho para Baal, para Aserá y para todo el ejército de los cielos; los quemó fuera de Jerusalén en los yermos del Cedrón y llevó sus cenizas a Betel.
5 And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.	5 Suprimió los sacerdotes paganos que pusieron los reyes de Judá y que quemaban incienso en los altos, en las ciudades de Judá y en los contornos de Jerusalén, a los que ofrecían incienso a Baal, al sol, a la luna, a los astros celestes y a todo el ejército de los cielos.
6 And he brought out the grove from the house of the LORD, without Jerusalem, unto the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron, and stamped it small to powder, and cast the powder thereof upon the graves of the children of the people.	6 Sacó la Aserá de la Casa de Yahveh fuera de Jerusalén, al torrente Cedrón, la quemó allí en el torrente Cedrón, la redujo a cenizas y arrojó las cenizas a las tumbas de los hijos del pueblo.
7 And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that were by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove.	7 Derribó las casas de los consagrados a la prostitución que estaban en la Casa de Yahveh y donde las mujeres tejían velos para Aserá.
8 And he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba to Beer-sheba, and brake down the high places of the gates that were in the entering in of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on a man's left hand at the gate of the city.	8 Hizo venir a todos los sacerdotes de las ciudades de Judá y profanó los altos donde quemaban incienso, desde Gueba hasta Berseba. Derribó los altos de las puertas que estaban a la entrada de la puerta de Josué, gobernador de la ciudad, a la izquierda según se pasa la puerta de la ciudad.
9 Nevertheless the priests of the high places came not up to the altar of the LORD in Jerusalem, but they did eat of the unleavened bread among their brethren.	9 Con todo, los sacerdotes de los altos no podían acercarse al altar de Yahveh en Jerusalén, aunque comían los panes ázimos en medio de sus hermanos.
10 And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech.	10 Profanó el Tofet del valle de Ben Hinnom, para que nadie hiciera pasar por el fuego a su hijo o a su hija en honor de Mólek.
11 And he took away the horses that the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entering in of the house of the LORD, by the chamber of Nathan-melech the chamberlain, which was in the suburbs, and burned the chariots of the sun with fire.	11 Suprimió los caballos que los reyes de Judá habían dedicado al Sol, a la entrada de la Casa de Yahveh, cerca de la habitación del eunuco Netán Mélek, en las dependencias, y quemó el carro del Sol.
12 And the altars that were on the top of the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the LORD, did the king beat down, and brake them down from thence, and cast the dust of them into the brook Kidron.	12 Los altares que estaban sobre el terrado de la habitación superior de Ajaz, que hicieron los reyes de Judá, y los altares que hizo Manasés en los dos patios de la Casa de Yahveh, el rey los derribó, los rompió allí y arrojó sus cenizas al torrente Cedrón.
13 And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had builded for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the children of Ammon, did the king defile.	13 El rey profanó los altos que estaban frente a Jerusalén, al sur del Monte de los Olivos, que Salomón, rey de Israel, había construido a Astarté, monstruo abominable de los sidonios, a Kemós, monstruo abominable de Moab, y a Milkom, abominación de los amonitas.
14 And he brake in pieces the images, and cut down the groves, and filled their places with the bones of men.	14 Rompió las estelas, cortó los cipos y llenó sus emplazamientos de los huesos humanos.
15 Moreover the altar that was at Bethel, and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he brake down, and burned the high place, and stamped it small to powder, and burned the grove.	15 También el altar que había en Betel y el alto que hizo Jeroboam, hijo de Nebat, el que hizo pecar a Israel, derribó este altar y este alto, rompió las piedras, las redujo a polvo, y quemó el cipo.
16 And as Josiah turned himself, he spied the sepulchres that were there in the mount, and sent, and took the bones out of the sepulchres, and burned them upon the altar, and polluted it, according to the word of the LORD which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these words.	16 Volvió la cabeza Josías y vio los sepulcros que habían allí en la montaña; mandó tomar los huesos de las tumbas y los quemó sobre el altar, profanándolo, y cumpliéndose así la palabra de Yahveh que había dicho al hombre de Dios cuando Jeroboam estaba en pie junto al altar durante la fiesta. Josías se volvió y vio la tumba del hombre de Dios que había dicho estas cosas;
17 Then he said, What title is that that I see? And the men of the city told him, It is the sepulchre of the man of God, which came from Judah, and proclaimed these things that thou hast done against the altar of Bethel.	17 y dijo: «¿Qué monumento es ése que veo?» Los hombres de la ciudad le respondieron: «Es la tumba del hombre de Dios que vino de Judá y anunció estas cosas que has hecho contra el altar de Betel».
18 And he said, Let him alone; let no man move his bones. So they let his bones alone, with the bones of the prophet that came out of Samaria.	18 Dijo él: «Dejadle en paz. Que nadie toque sus huesos». Y salvaron sus huesos, junto con los huesos del profeta que vino de Samaría.
19 And all the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke the LORD to anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Bethel.	19 También hizo desaparecer Josías todos los templos de los altos de las ciudades de Samaría que hicieron los reyes de Israel, irritando a Yahveh, e hizo con ellos enteramente como había hecho en Betel.
20 And he slew all the priests of the high places that were there upon the altars, and burned men's bones upon them, and returned to Jerusalem.	20 Inmoló sobre los altares a todos los sacerdotes de los altos que se encontraban allí y quemó sobre ellos huesos humanos. Y se volvió a Jerusalén.
21 And the king commanded all the people, saying, Keep the passover unto the LORD your God, as it is written in the book of this covenant.	21 El rey dio esta orden a todo el pueblo: «Celebrad la Pascua en honor de Yahveh, vuestro Dios, según está escrito en este libro de la alianza».
22 Surely there was not holden such a passover from the days of the judges that judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel, nor of the kings of Judah;	22 No se había celebrado una Pascua como está desde los días de los Jueces que habían juzgado a Israel, ni en los días de los reyes de Israel y de los reyes de Judá.
23 But in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, wherein this passover was holden to the LORD in Jerusalem.	23 Tan sólo en el año dieciocho del rey Josías se celebró una Pascua así en honor de Yahveh en Jerusalén.
24 Moreover the workers with familiar spirits, and the wizards, and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were spied in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD.	24 También los nigromantes y los adivinos, los terafim y los ídolos y todos los monstruos abominables que se veían en la tierra de Judá y en Jerusalén, fueron eliminados por Josías, para poner en vigor las palabras de la Ley escritas en el libro que encontró el sacerdote Jilquías en la Casa de Yahveh.
25 And like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the LORD with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.	25 No hubo antes de él ningún rey que se volviera como él a Yahveh, con todo su corazón, con toda su alma y con toda su fuerza, según toda la ley de Moisés, ni después de él se ha levantado nadie como él.
26 Notwithstanding the LORD turned not from the fierceness of his great wrath, wherewith his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocations that Manasseh had provoked him withal.	26 Sin embargo, Yahveh no se volvió del ardor de su gran cólera que se había encendido contra Judá por todas las irritaciones con que le había irritado Manasés.
27 And the LORD said, I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and will cast off this city Jerusalem which I have chosen, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.	27 Yahveh había dicho: «También a Judá apartaré de mi presencia, como he apartado a Israel, y rechazaré a esta ciudad que había elegido, a Jerusalén y a la Casa de que había dicho: Mi Nombre estará en ella».
28 Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?	28 El resto de los hechos de Josías, todo cuanto hizo ¿no está escrito en el libro de los Anales de los reyes de Judá?
29 In his days Pharaoh-nechoh king of Egypt went up against the king of Assyria to the river Euphrates: and king Josiah went against him; and he slew him at Megiddo, when he had seen him.	29 En sus días subió el Faraón Nekó, rey de Egipto, hacia el rey de Asiria, junto al río Eufrates. Fue el rey Josías a su encuentro, pero Nekó le mató en Meguiddó en cuanto le vio.
30 And his servants carried him in a chariot dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own sepulchre. And the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made him king in his father's stead.	30 Sus servidores trasladaron en carro el cadáver desde Meguiddó, llegaron a Jerusalén y lo sepultaron en su sepulcro. 31 Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.	31 Joacaz tenía veintitrés años cuando comenzó a reinar y reinó tres meses en Jerusalén; el nombre de su madre era Jamital, hija de Jeremías, de Libná.
32 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fathers had done.	32 Hizo el mal a los ojos de Yahveh, enteramente como le habían hecho sus padres.
33 And Pharaoh-nechoh put him in bands at Riblah in the land of Hamath, that he might not reign in Jerusalem; and put the land to a tribute of an hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold.	33 El Faraón Nekó lo encadenó en Riblá, en el país de Jamat, para que no reinara más en Jerusalén y puso un impuesto al país de cien talentos de plata y diez talentos de oro.
34 And Pharaoh-nechoh made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the room of Josiah his father, and turned his name to Jehoiakim, and took Jehoahaz away: and he came to Egypt, and died there.	34 El faraón Nekó puso por rey a Elyaquim, hijo de Josías, en lugar de su padre Josías, y le cambió el nombre en Yoyaquim. Cuando a Joacaz, le tomó y le llevó a Egipto, donde murió.
35 And Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh: he exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, of every one according to his taxation, to give it unto Pharaoh-nechoh.	35 Yoyaquim entregó la plata y el oro a Faraón, pero para dar el dinero según la orden de Faraón, impuso una derrama al país, a cada uno según sus bienes; apremió al pueblo de la tierra acerca del dinero que había de dar al faraón Nekó. 36 Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zebudah, the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah.	36 Veinticinco años tenía Yoyaquim cuando comenzó a reinar y reinó once años en Jerusalén; el nombre de su madre era Zebida, hija de Pedaías de Rumá.
37 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fathers had done.	37 Hizo el mal a los ojos de Yahveh, enteramente como hicieron sus padres.
