1 And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.	1 In seguito si verificò il fatto seguente. Nabot di Izreèl aveva una vigna attigua al palazzo di Acab, re di Samaria.
2 And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money.	2 Acab disse a Nabot: "Cedimi la tua vigna e ne farò un orto, giacché è vicina al mio palazzo. Al suo posto ti darò una vigna migliore o, se preferisci, ti darò il denaro corrispondente".
3 And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.	3 Ma Nabot rispose ad Acab: "Mi guardi il Signore dal cederti l'eredità dei miei antenati!".
4 And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.	4 Acab rientrò in casa triste e adirato a causa di questa risposta che Nabot di Izreèl gli aveva dato, allorché disse: "Non ti cederò l'eredità dei miei antenati". Si gettò sul suo letto, volse la faccia da un lato e non prese cibo.
5 But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread?	5 Gezabele, sua moglie, andò da lui e gli disse: "Perché il tuo animo è così abbattuto e non vuoi prendere cibo?".
6 And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.	6 Le rispose: "Ho parlato a Nabot di Izreèl dicendogli: "Cedimi la tua vigna per denaro o, se preferisci, ti darò un'altra vigna al suo posto", ma egli rispose: "Non ti cederò la mia vigna".
7 And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.	7 Allora sua moglie Gezabele gli disse: "Ora devi esercitare il tuo governo su Israele! Lèvati, prendi cibo e sta' di cuore allegro; io infatti ti darò la vigna di Nabot di Izreèl".
8 So she wrote letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.	8 Scrisse delle lettere a nome di Acab, le sigillò con il sigillo reale e le spedì agli anziani e ai notabili che abitavano con Nabot.
9 And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:	9 Così venne scritto nelle lettere: "Bandite un digiuno e fate sedere Nabot alla testa del popolo.
10 And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.	10 Ponetegli di fronte due uomini perversi che lo accusino dicendo: "Tu hai maledetto Dio e il re". Poi fatelo uscire, lapidatelo e così muoia!".
11 And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.	11 Gli uomini della città di Nabot, gli anziani e i notabili fecero come Gezabele aveva loro ordinato, secondo quanto era scritto nelle lettere che essa aveva loro inviato.
12 They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.	12 Bandirono un digiuno e fecero sedere Nabot alla testa del popolo.
13 And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.	13 Allora giunsero i due uomini perversi, che si sedettero di fronte a lui e l'accusarono dicendo: "Nabot ha maledetto Dio e il re". Lo fecero uscire fuori della città, lo lapidarono e morì.
14 Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.	14 Poi mandarono a dire a Gezabele: "Nabot è stato lapidato ed è morto!".
15 And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead.	15 Quando Gezabele seppe che Nabot era stato lapidato ed era morto, disse ad Acab: "Lèvati e prendi possesso della vigna che Nabot di Izreèl rifiutò di darti per denaro; Nabot infatti non è più vivo, ma è morto".
16 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.	16 Udendo che Nabot era morto, Acab si levò per scendere alla vigna di Nabot di Izreèl e appropriarsene.
17 And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,	17 Allora la parola del Signore fu rivolta a Elia il tisbita in questi termini:
18 Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it.	18 "Lèvati e scendi incontro ad Acab, re di Israele, in Samaria. Ecco, egli si trova nella vigna di Nabot, dov'è disceso per appropriarsela.
19 And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.	19 Gli dirai: "Così parla il Signore: Tu hai ucciso e, per di più, hai usurpato!". Poi soggiungerai: "Così parla il Signore: Nel medesimo luogo in cui i cani hanno leccato il sangue di Nabot, leccheranno anche il tuo sangue".
20 And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.	20 Acab rispose ad Elia: "Mi hai dunque colto sul fatto, o mio nemico?". Elia rispose: "Sì, ti ho colto, perché ti sei prestato a fare ciò che è male agli occhi del Signore.
21 Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel,	21 Ecco, io farò venire su di te la sventura e ti spazzerò via; reciderò via da Acab ogni maschio, schiavo o libero in Israele.
22 And will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.	22 Tratterò la tua casa come quella di Geroboamo, figlio di Nabàt, e come quella di Baasa, figlio di Achia, a causa dell'ira che hai suscitato in me, inducendo Israele a peccare.
23 And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.	23 Anche riguardo a Gezabele il Signore parla in questi termini: "I cani divoreranno Gezabele nel campo di Izreèl.
24 Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.	24 Della famiglia di Acab chiunque morirà in città lo divoreranno i cani; chiunque morirà in campagna lo mangeranno gli uccelli del cielo".
25 But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.	25 Per la verità non ci fu nessuno che, alla pari di Acab, si prestò a fare ciò che è male agli occhi del Signore, perché sua moglie Gezabele lo aveva sedotto.
26 And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.	26 Egli agì in modo abominevole, andando dietro agl'idoli come avevano fatto gli Amorrei che il Signore aveva cacciato davanti ai figli d'Israele.
27 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.	27 Quando Acab udì queste parole, si stracciò le vesti, rivestì il suo corpo di sacco, digiunò, si coricò con il sacco e si mise a camminare dimesso.
28 And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,	28 Allora la parola del Signore fu indirizzata ad Elia il tisbita in questi termini:
29 Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house.	29 "Hai visto come Acab si è umiliato al mio cospetto? Dal momento che egli si è umiliato al mio cospetto, io non farò venire il male durante la sua vita; solo al tempo di suo figlio farò venire il male sulla sua casa".
