1 Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.	1 - Davide riunì di nuovo tutti gli uomini più valenti d'Israele, in numero di trentamila
2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.	2 e con tutti quelli della tribù di Giuda che erano con lui si levò e partì per trasportare l'arca di Dio, sulla quale fu invocato il nome del Signore degli eserciti, che siede sopra di essa in mezzo ai Cherubini.
3 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart.	3 E collocata l'arca di Dio sopra un carro nuovo, la trasportarono dalla casa di Abinadab che era in Gabaa; Oza e Aio, figliuoli di Abinadab, conducevano il carro nuovo.
4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.	4 Levatala adunque dalla casa di Abinadab che era in Gabaa, Aio, che custodiva l'arca di Dio, la precedeva,
5 And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.	5 mentre Davide e tutto Israele danzavano innanzi al Signore, sonando ogni genere di strumenti di legno: cetre, lire, timpani, sistri e cembali.
6 And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.	6 Giunti che furono all'aia di Nacon, Oza stese la mano verso l'arca di Dio e la sostenne, perchè i buoi ricalcitravano e l'avevano fatta piegare.
7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.	7 Il Signore si adirò grandemente contro Oza e lo colpì a causa della sua temerità ed egli morì in quel luogo presso l'arca di Dio.
8 And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perez-uzzah to this day.	8 Davide si contristò perchè il Signore aveva percosso Oza, e quel luogo fu chiamato " Punizione di Oza ", sino al giorno d'oggi.
9 And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?	9 Temette poi Davide il Signore in quel giorno e disse: «Come entrerà in mia casa l'arca del Signore?»;
10 So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.	10 nè volle che l'arca del Signore fosse trasportata presso di sè nella città di Davide, ma la fece condurre in casa di Obededom di Get.
11 And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obed-edom, and all his household.	11 E l'arca del Signore restò tre mesi nella casa di Obededom Geteo e il Signore benedisse Obededom e tutta la famiglia di lui.
12 And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with gladness.	12 Essendo poi stato annunziato a Davide che il Signore aveva benedetto Obededom e tutto ciò che gli apparteneva, a cagione dell'arca di Dio, se ne andò e trasportò con giubilo l'arca di Dio dalla casa di Obededom nella città di Davide. Davide aveva con sè sette cori di musici, e inoltre un vitello da immolare.
13 And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.	13 E quando quei che portavano l'arca avevano fatto sei passi immolavasi un bue ed un ariete
14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.	14 e Davide, cinto di un efod di lino, danzava con tutte le sue forze davanti al Signore.
15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.	15 Così Davide e tutta la casa d'Israele accompagnavano l'arca del testamento del Signore con giubilo e al suono di trombe.
16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.	16 All'entrare dell'arca del Signore nella città di Davide, Micol figlia di Saul guardando da una finestra vide il re Davide che saltava e danzava dinanzi al Signore e lo disprezzò in cuor suo.
17 And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.	17 Introdotta poi l'arca del Signore e collocata al suo posto, in mezzo alla tenda che era stata rizzata per lei da Davide, questi offrì al Signore olocausti e vittime pacifiche dinanzi al Signore.
18 And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts.	18 Quand'ebbe finito di offrire gli olocausti e le vittime pacifiche, benedisse il popolo in nome del Signore degli eserciti
19 And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.	19 e distribuì a tutta la moltitudine d'Israele, uomini e donne, una torta di pane a ciascuno, una porzione di carne di bue arrostito, e un pasticcio di farina fritta coll'olio. Poi tutto il popolo se ne andò ciascuno a casa sua.
20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!	20 Anche Davide fece ritorno a casa per benedirla e Micol figlia di Saul gli andò incontro dicendo: «Che onore oggi pel re d'Israele che si scopriva alla presenza delle ancelle dei suoi servi, spogliandosi come farebbe un buffone!».
21 And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.	21 Ma Davide rispose a Micol: «Davanti al Signore, che elesse me piuttosto che tuo padre o qualsiasi altro della tua casa e mi comandò di essere il duce del popolo del Signore in Israele,
22 And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.	22 danzerò e mi renderò ancora più vile di quel che abbia fatto; e mi renderò abbietto agli occhi miei, e con tutto ciò apparirò più glorioso alle serve di cui tu parlasti».
23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.	23 Ora Micol figlia di Saul non ebbe figliuoli fino al giorno della sua morte.
