1 I charge thee, before God and Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead, by his coming, and his kingdom:	1 Ti scongiuro davanti a Dio e a Gesù Cristo, che ha da venire a giudicare i vivi e i morti, per la sua venuta e per il suo regno:
2 Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine.	2 predica la parola, insisti a tempo opportuno ed anche non opportuno, riprendi, esorta, sgrida con tutta la pazienza e la dottrina;
3 For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears:	3 perchè verrà tempo in cui la gente non potrà sopportare la sana dottrina, ma per assecondare le proprie passioni e per prurito di sentire, si creerà una folla di maestri
4 And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables.	4 ma non vorranno ascoltare la verità e andran dietro a favole.
5 But be thou vigilant, labour in all things, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry. Be sober.	5 Ma tu veglia sopra tute te le cose, sopporta le afflizioni; fai opera d'evangelista, ad empi i doveri del tuo ministero: sii temperante.
6 For I am even now ready to be sacrificed: and the time of my dissolution is at hand.	6 In quanto a me son già offerto in libazione e il tempo del mio discioglimento è vicino.
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.	7 Ho combattuto la buona battaglia, son giunto al termine della mia corsa, ho conservato la fede
8 As to the rest, there is laid up for me a crown of justice, which the Lord the just judge will render to me in that day: and not only to me, but to them also that love his coming. Make haste to come to me quickly.	8 e non mi resta che ricevere la corona di giustizia, che mi darà in quel giorno il Signore, giusto giudice, e non solo a me, ma anche a quelli che desiderano la sua venuta. Cerca di venir presto da me;
9 For Demas hath left me, loving this world, and is gone to Thessalonica:	9 perchè Dema mi ha abbandonato per amor di questo mondo e se n'è andato a Tessalonica.
10 Crescens into Galatia, Titus into Dalmatia.	10 Crescente è andato in Galazia, Tito in Dalmazia.
11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.	11 Luca solo è con me. Prendi Marco e conducilo teco perchè mi è molto utile pel ministero.
12 But Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.	12 Tichico l'ho mandato ad Efeso.
13 The cloak that I left at Troas, with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, especially the parchments.	13 Quando verrai portami il mantello che lasciai a Troade in casa di Carpo; e portami anche i libri, specialmente le pergamene.
14 Alexander the coppersmith hath done me much evil: the Lord will reward him according to his works:	14 Alessandro il ramaio, mi ha fatto molti mali: lo ricompenserà il Signore secondo le sue opere.
15 Whom do thou also avoid, for he hath greatly withstood our words.	15 Ma anche tu guardatene perchè si è fortemente opposto alle nostre parole.
16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all forsook me: may it not be laid to their charge.	16 Nella mia prima difesa nessuno fu per me; ma tutti mi abbandonarono. Non sia loro imputato!
17 But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that by me the preaching may be accomplished, and that all the Gentiles may hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.	17 Ma il Signore m'ha assistito e mi ha confortato, affinchè per opera mia si compia la predicazione e l'odano tutte le Genti, e sono stato liberato « dalla bocca del Leone ».
18 The Lord hath delivered me from every evil work: and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.	18 Il Signore mi libererà da ogni male e mi salverà nel suo celeste regno. A lui gloria nei secoli dei secoli. Così sia.
19 Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.	19 Saluta Prisca e Aquila e la casa di Onesiforo.
20 Erastus remained at Corinth. And Trophimus I left sick at Miletus.	20 Erasto rimase a Corinto. Trofimo lo lasciai malato a Mileto.
21 Make haste to come before winter Eubulus and Pudens, and Linus and Claudia, and all the brethren, salute thee.	21 Affrettati per venire da me prima dell'inverno. Ti salutano Eubulo e Pudente e Lino e Claudia e tutti i fratelli.
