Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, to all the saints who are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus.1 Paul, by the will of God an apostle of Christ Jesus, to God's holy people, faithful in Christ Jesus.
Grace be to you, and peace from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed by the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with spiritual blessings in heavenly places, in Christ:3 Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all the spiritual blessingsof heaven in Christ.
As he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and unspotted in his sight in charity.4 Thus he chose us in Christ before the world was made to be holy and faultless before him in love,
Who hath predestinated us unto the adoption of children through Jesus Christ unto himself: according to the purpose of his will:5 marking us out for himself beforehand, to be adopted sons, through Jesus Christ. Such was hispurpose and good pleasure,
Unto the praise of the glory of his grace, in which he hath graced us in his beloved son.6 to the praise of the glory of his grace, his free gift to us in the Beloved,
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the remission of sins, according to the riches of his grace,7 in whom, through his blood, we gain our freedom, the forgiveness of our sins. Such is the richness ofthe grace
Which hath superabounded in us in all wisdom and prudence,8 which he has showered on us in al wisdom and insight.
That he might make known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure, which he hath purposed in him,9 He has let us know the mystery of his purpose, according to his good pleasure which he determinedbeforehand in Christ,
In the dispensation of the fulness of times, to re-establish all things in Christ, that are in heaven and on earth, in him.10 for him to act upon when the times had run their course: that he would bring everything together underChrist, as head, everything in the heavens and everything on earth.
In whom we also are called by lot, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things according to the counsel of his will.11 And it is in him that we have received our heritage, marked out beforehand as we were, under the planof the One who guides al things as he decides by his own wil ,
That we may be unto the praise of his glory, we who before hoped Christ:12 chosen to be, for the praise of his glory, the people who would put their hopes in Christ before hecame.
In whom you also, after you had heard the word of truth, (the gospel of your salvation;) in whom also believing, you were signed with the holy Spirit of promise,13 Now you too, in him, have heard the message of the truth and the gospel of your salvation, and havingput your trust in it you have been stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit of the Promise,
Who is the pledge of our inheritance, unto the redemption of acquisition, unto the praise of his glory.14 who is the pledge of our inheritance, for the freedom of the people whom God has taken for his own,for the praise of his glory.
Wherefore I also, hearing of your faith that is in the Lord Jesus, and of your love towards all the saints,15 That is why I, having once heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love for al God's holypeople,
Cease not to give thanks for you, making commemoration of you in my prayers,16 have never failed to thank God for you and to remember you in my prayers.
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and of revelation, in the knowledge of him:17 May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perceptionof what is revealed, to bring you to ful knowledge of him.
The eyes of your heart enlightened, that you may know what the hope is of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.18 May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his cal holds for you, how richis the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people,
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power towards us, who believe according to the operation of the might of his power,19 and how extraordinarily great is the power that he has exercised for us believers; this accords with thestrength of his power
Which he wrought in Christ, raising him up from the dead, and setting him on his right hand in the heavenly places.20 at work in Christ, the power which he exercised in raising him from the dead and enthroning him at hisright hand, in heaven,
Above all principality, and power, and virtue, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.21 far above every principality, ruling force, power or sovereignty, or any other name that can be named, not only in this age but also in the age to come.
And he hath subjected all things under his feet, and hath made him head over all the church,22 He has put al things under his feet, and made him, as he is above all things, the head of the Church;
Which is his body, and the fulness of him who is filled all in all.23 which is his Body, the ful ness of him who is fil ed, al in al .
