Ezekiel 30

1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	1 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes:
2 Son of man prophesy, and say: Thus saith the Lord God: Howl ye, Woe, woe to the day:	2 Fils d'homme, prophétise et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Poussez des cris: "Ah! Quel jour!"
3 For the day is near, yea the day of the Lord is near: a cloudy day, it shall be the time of the nations.	3 Car le jour est proche, il est proche le jour de Yahvé; ce sera un jour chargé de nuages, ce sera letemps des nations.
4 And the sword shall come upon Egypt: and there shall be dread in Ethiopia, when the wounded shall fall in Egypt, and the multitude thereof shall be taken away, and the foundations thereof shall be destroyed.	4 L'épée viendra en Egypte, l'angoisse au pays de Kush, quand les morts tomberont en Egypte,quand on emportera ses richesses et que ses fondements seront renversés.
5 Ethiopia, and Libya, and Lydia, and all the rest of the crowd, and Chub, and the children of the land of the covenant, shall fall with them by the sword.	5 Kush, Put et Lud, toute l'Arabie, Kub et les fils du pays de l'Alliance tomberont avec eux parl'épée.
6 Thus saith the Lord God: They also that uphold Egypt shall fall, and the pride of her empire shall be brought down: from the tower of Syene shall they fall in it by the sword, saith the Lord the God of hosts.	6 Ainsi parle Yahvé. Ils tomberont, les appuis de l'Egypte; il croulera l'orgueil de sa force: deMigdol à Syène, on y tombera par l'épée, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.
7 And they shall be desolate in the midst of the lands that are desolate, and the cities thereof shall be in the midst of the cities that are wasted.	7 Ils seront dévastés au milieu de pays dévastés, ses villes seront au milieu de villes détruites.
8 And they shall know that I am the Lord: when I shall have set a fire in Egypt, and all the helpers thereof shall be destroyed.	8 Et ils sauront que je suis Yahvé, quand je mettrai le feu à l'Egypte et que se briseront tous sessoutiens.
9 In that day shall messengers go forth from my face in ships to destroy the confidence of Ethiopia, and there shall be dread among them in the day of Egypt: because it shall certainly come.	9 Ce jour-là, les messagers que j'enverrai partiront sur des bateaux pour troubler Kush dans sasécurité. L'angoisse se répandra chez ses habitants, au jour de l'Egypte - oui! la voici qui vient!
10 Thus saith the Lord God : I will make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon.	10 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé: J'anéantirai la multitude de l'Egypte, par la main deNabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone.
11 He and his people with him, the strongest of nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and they shall draw their swords upon Egypt: and shall fill the land with the slain.	11 Lui et son peuple avec lui, la plus barbare des nations, seront amenés pour ravager le pays. Ilstireront l'épée contre l'Egypte et rempliront le pays de cadavres.
12 And I will make the channels of the rivers dry, and will deliver the land into the hand of the wicked: and will lay waste the land and all that is therein by the hands of strangers, I the Lord have spoken it.	12 Je mettrai les Nils à sec, je vendrai le pays à des méchants. Je dévasterai le pays et ce qu'ilrenferme par la main d'étrangers. Moi, Yahvé, j'ai parlé.
13 Thus saith the Lord God: I will also destroy the idols, and I will make an end of the idols of Memphis: and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will cause a terror in the land of Egypt.	13 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé: J'anéantirai les ordures, j'ôterai de Noph les faux dieux. Il n'yaura plus de prince au pays d'Egypte. Je répandrai la crainte au pays d'Egypte.
14 And I will destroy the land of Phatures, and will make a fire in Taphnis, and will execute judgments in Alexandria.	14 Je dévasterai Patros, je mettrai le feu à Coân, je ferai justice de No.
15 And I will pour out my indignation upon Pelusium the strength of Egypt, and will cut off the multitude of Alexandria.	15 Je déverserai ma fureur sur Sîn, la forteresse de l'Egypte; j'exterminerai la multitude de No.
16 And I will make a fire in Egypt: Pelusium shall be in pain like a woman in labour, and Alexandria shall be laid waste, and in Memphis there shall be daily distresses.	16 Je mettrai le feu à l'Egypte, Sîn sera pris de convulsions, à No, on ouvrira une brèche et les eauxse répandront.
17 The young men of Heliopolis, and of Bubastus shall fall by the sword, and they themselves shall go into captivity.	17 Les jeunes gens de On et de Pi-Bésèt tomberont par l'épée et les villes elles-mêmes iront encaptivité.
18 And in Taphnis the day shall be darkened, when I shall break there the sceptres of Egypt, and the pride of her power shall cease in her: a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall be led into captivity.	18 A Tahpanhès, le jour deviendra ténèbres quand j'y briserai les sceptres de l'Egypte et quel'orgueil de sa force prendra fin. Quant à elle, un nuage la couvrira et ses filles iront en captivité.
19 And I will execute judgments in Egypt: and they shall know that I am the Lord.	19 C'est ainsi que je ferai justice de l'Egypte, et l'on saura que je suis Yahvé.
20 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	20 La onzième année, au premier mois, le sept du mois, la parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en cestermes:
21 Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharao king of Egypt: and behold it is not bound up, to be healed, to be tied up with clothes, and swathed with linen, that it might recover strength, and hold the sword.	21 Fils d'homme, j'ai brisé le bras de Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, et voici que nul n'a pansé sa blessure eny appliquant des remèdes, en y mettant un bandage et en le pansant pour qu'il retrouve la force de manier l'épée.
22 Therefore, thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I come against Pharao king of Egypt, and I will break into pieces his strong arm, which is already broken: and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand:	22 C'est pourquoi, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Voici que je me déclare contre Pharaon, roid'Egypte; je lui briserai les bras, celui qui est valide et celui qui est brisé, et je ferai tomber l'épée de sa main.
23 And I will disperse Egypt among the nations, and scatter them through the countries.	23 Je disséminerai l'Egypte parmi les nations, je la disperserai dans les pays.
24 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and will put my sword in his hand: and I will break the arms of Pharao, and they shall groan bitterly being slain before his face.	24 Je fortifierai les bras du roi de Babylone et je mettrai mon épée dans sa main. Je briserai les brasde Pharaon et celui-ci poussera devant son ennemi des gémissements de mourant.
25 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharao shall fall: and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall have given my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall have stretched it forth upon the land of Egypt.	25 Je fortifierai les bras du roi de Babylone, mais les bras de Pharaon tomberont. Et l'on saura queje suis Yahvé, quand je mettrai mon épée dans les mains du roi de Babylone et qu'il la brandira contre le paysd'Egypte.
26 And I will disperse Egypt among the nations, and will scatter them through the countries, and they shall know that I am the Lord.	26 Je disséminerai les Egyptiens parmi les nations, je les disperserai dans les pays, et l'on saura queje suis Yahvé.
