1 At that time Merodach Baladan, the son of Baladan king of Babylon, sent letters and presents to Ezechias: for he had heard that he had been sick and was recovered.	1 IN quel tempo, Merodac-bala-dan, figliuolo di Baladan, re di Babilonia, mandò lettere e presenti ad Ezechia; perciocchè avea inteso ch’era stato infermo, e ch’era guarito.
2 And Ezechias rejoiced at their coming, and he shewed them the storehouses of his aromatical spices, and of the silver, and of the gold, and of the sweet odours, and of the precious ointment, and all the storehouses of his furniture, and all things that were found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion that Ezechias shewed them not.	2 Ed Ezechia si rallegrò di loro, e mostrò loro la casa delle sue cose preziose, l’argento, e l’oro, e gli oromati, e gli olii odoriferi, e la casa di tutti i suoi arredi, e tutto quello che si ritrovava ne’ suoi tesori; non vi fu cosa alcuna in casa, ovvero in tutto il dominio di Ezechia, ch’egli non mostrasse loro.
3 Then Isaias the prophet came to king Ezechias, and said to him: What said these men, and from whence came they to thee? And Ezechias said: From a far country they came to me, from Babylon	3 E il profeta Isaia venne al re Ezechia, e gli disse: Che hanno detto quegli uomini? e donde son venuti a te? Ed Ezechia disse: Son venuti a me di paese lontano, di Babilonia.
4 And he said: What saw they in thy house? And Ezechias said: All things that are in my house have they seen, there was not any thing which I have not shewn them in my treasures.	4 Ed Isaia disse: Che hanno veduto in casa tua? Ed Ezechia disse: Hanno veduto tutto quello che è in casa mia; non vi è nulla ne’ miei tesori, che io non abbia lor mostrato
5 And Isaias said to Ezechias: Rear the word of the Lord of hosts.	5 Ed Isaia disse ad Ezechia: Ascolta la parola del Signor degli eserciti:
6 Behold the days shall come, that all that is in thy house, and that thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried away into Babylon: there shall not any thing be left, saith the Lord.	6 Ecco, i giorni vengono, che tutto quello che è in casa tua, e quello che i tuoi padri hanno raunato in tesoro infino a questo giorno, sarà portato in Babilonia; non ne sarà lasciata di resto cosa veruna, dice il Signore.
7 And of thy children, that shall issue from thee, whom thou shalt beget, they shall take away, and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.	7 Ed anche si prenderanno de’ tuoi figliuoli, i quali saranno usciti di te, i quali tu avrai generati; e saranno eunuchi nel palazzo del re di Babilonia.
8 And Ezechias said to Isaias: The word of the Lord, which he hath spoken, is good. And he said: Only let peace and truth be in my days.	8 Ed Ezechia disse ad Isaia: La parola del Signore, che tu hai pronunziata, è buona. Poi disse: Noi vi sarà egli pur pace e sicurtà, a’ miei dì?
