Isaiah 34

DOUAI-RHEIMS	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Come near, ye Gentiles, and hear, and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein, the world, and every thing that cometh forth of it.	1 ¡Acérquense, naciones, para oír; pueblos, presten atención! ¡Escuche la tierra y todo lo que hay en ella, el mundo y todo lo que él produce!
2 For the indignation of the Lord if upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath killed them, and delivered them to slaughter.	2 Porque el Señor está irritado contra todas las naciones y enfurecido contra todos sus ejércitos: los ha consagrado al exterminio, los ha destinado a la matanza.
3 Their slain shall be cast forth, and out of their carcasses shall rise a slink: the mountains shall be melted with their blood.	3 Sus víctimas son arrojadas fuera, de sus cadáveres sube el hedor, y con su sangre se disuelven las montañas.
4 And all the host of the heavens shall pine away, and the heavens shall be folded together as a book: and all their host shall fall down as the leaf falleth from the vine, and from the fig tree.	4 Se diluye todo el ejército del cielo, los cielos son enrollados como un pliego, y todo su ejército se marchita como se marchita el follaje de la vid, como cae marchita la hija de la higuera.
5 For my sword is inebriated in heaven: behold it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my slaughter unto judgment.	5 Porque mi espada se abrevó en el cielo: miren cómo baja sobre Edom, sobre el pueblo que he condenado al juicio.
6 The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, it is made thick with the blood of lambs and buck goats, with the blood of rams full of marrow: for there is a victim of the Lord in Bosra and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.	6 La espada del Señor está llena de sangre, impregnada de grasa, de la sangre de corderos y chivos, de la grasa de riñones de carneros. Porque el Señor tiene un sacrificio en Bosrá, una gran matanza en el país de Edom.
7 And the unicorns shall go down with them, and the bulls with the mighty: their land shall be soaked with blood, and their ground with the fat of fat ones.	7 Caen los búfalos con los terneros cebados, los novillos con los toros: su tierra se abreva con sangre, su suelo se impregna de grasa.
8 For it is the day of the vengeance of the Lord, the year of recompenses of the judgment of Sion.	8 Porque es un día de venganza para el Señor, un año de desquite para la causa de Sión.
9 And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the ground thereof into brimstone: and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.	9 Sus torrentes se transformarán en resina y su suelo en azufre; su tierra se convertirá en resina ardiente,
10 Night and day it shall not be quenched, the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste, none shall pass through it for ever and ever.	10 que no se extinguirá ni de día ni de noche: la humareda subirá incesantemente. Quedará desierta de generación en generación, nunca más pasará nadie por allí.
11 The bittern and ericius shall possess it: and the ibis and the raven shall dwell in it: and a line shall be stretched out upon it, to bring it to nothing, and a plummet, unto desolation.	11 Se adueñarán de ella el pelícano y el erizo, la lechuza y el cuervo habitarán allí. Se extenderá sobre ella la plomada del caos y el nivel del vacío.
12 The nobles thereof shall not be there: they shall call rather upon the king, and all the princes thereof shall be nothing.	12 Los nobles no proclamarán más un rey y todos sus príncipes serán aniquilados.
13 And thorns and nettles shall grow up in its houses, and the thistle in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be the habitation of dragons, and the pasture of ostriches.	13 En sus palacios crecerán zarzas, en sus fortalezas, ortigas y espinas; será una morada de chacales, una guarida de avestruces.
14 And demons and monsters shall meet, and the hairy ones shall cry out one to another, there hath the lamia lain down, and found rest for herself.	14 Las fieras del desierto se juntarán con las hienas, los sátiros se llamarán unos a otros. Allí también descansará Lilit y tendrá un lugar de reposo.
15 There hath the ericius had its hole, and brought up its young ones, and hath dug round about, and cherished them in the shadow thereof: thither are the kites gathered together one to another.	15 Allí anidará la serpiente y pondrá sus huevos, los incubará y los hará empollar; y allí también se reunirán los buitres, cada uno con su pareja.
16 Search ye diligently in the book of the Lord, and read: not one of them was wanting, one hath not sought for the other: for that which proceedeth out of my mouth, he hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.	16 Consulten el libro del Señor y lean: no falta ninguno de ellos, ni uno solo ha perdido su pareja, porque lo ha mandado la boca del Señor y su espíritu los ha congregado.
17 And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it to them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation they shall dwell therein.	17 El mismo ha echado la suerte para ellos, su mano les asignó una parte con la cuerda: ellos la poseerán para siempre, habitará allí de generación en generación.
