Psalms 94

1 The Lord is the God to whom revenge belongeth: the God of revenge hath acted freely.	1 О Боже, відплати, Господи; о Боже, відплати, явися в сяйві!
2 Lift up thyself, thou that judgest the earth: render a reward to the proud.	2 Встань, судде землі, відплати гордим по заслузі!
3 How long shall sinners, O Lord: how long shall sinners glory?	3 Доки безбожні, Господи, доки безбожні будуть торжествувати?
4 Shall they utter, and speak iniquity: shall all speak who work injustice?	4 Доки будуть базікати, нахабно теревенити і вихвалятись усі, що творять беззаконня?
5 Thy people, O Lord, they have brought low: and they have afflicted thy inheritance.	5 Топчуть, о Господи, народ твій, гноблять твою спадщину.
6 They have slain the widow and the stranger: and they have murdered the fatherless.	6 Удовицю й захожого вбивають, та й сиріт зводять зо світу.
7 And they have said: The Lord shall not see: neither shall the God of Jacob understand.	7 І кажуть: «Господь не бачить, Бог Якова не примічає».
8 Understand, ye senseless among the people: and, you fools, be wise at last.	8 Збагніть, дурні в народі! Безглузді, коли вам розум проясниться?
9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? or he that formed the eye, doth he not consider?	9 Чи ж той, хто насадив вухо, не чує? Хто око створив, — не бачить?
10 He that chastiseth nations, shall he not rebuke: he that teacheth man knowledge?	10 Той, що повчає народи, не буде карати? Він, що навчає розумну людину?
11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of men, that they are vain.	11 Господь знає думки людини, що вони марні.
12 Blessed is the man whom thou shalt instruct, O Lord: and shalt teach him out of thy law.	12 Щасливий чоловік, Господи, що його перестерігаєш і у твоїм законі навчаєш,
13 That thou mayst give him rest from the evil days: till a pit be dug for the wicked.	13 щоб дати йому спокій за лихої години, поки викопується грішникові яма.
14 For the Lord will not cast off his people: neither will he forsake his own inheritance.	14 Господь свого народу не відкине і спадщини своєї не полишить.
15 Until justice be turned into judgment: and they that are near it are all the upright in heart.	15 Бо право повернеться до правди, і всі щирі серцем стоятимуть за нею.
16 Who shall rise up for me against the evildoers? or who shall stand with me against the workers of iniquity?	16 Хто встане за мене проти злісних, заступиться за мене проти злочинців?
17 Unless the Lord had been my helper, my soul had almost dwelt in hell.	17 Якби Господь та не прийшов мені на допомогу, ще трохи, і моя душа жила б у мовчанні.
18 If I said: My foot is moved: thy mercy, O Lord, assisted me.	18 Коли я кажу: «Хитається нога моя», — ласка твоя, о Господи, підтримує мене.
19 According to the multitude of my sorrows in my heart, thy comforts have given joy to my soul.	19 Коли сила турбот у моїм серці, — твої втіхи розвеселяють мою душу.
20 Doth the seat of iniquity stick to thee, who framest labour in commandment?	20 Чи ж може бути в тебе спілка з престолом погибелі, що коїть зло під виглядом закону?
21 They will hunt after the soul of the just, and will condemn innocent blood.	21 Вони збираються проти душі праведника, засуджують кров неповинну.
22 But the Lord is my refuge: and my God the help of my hope.	22 Але Господь — мій захист, мій Бог — скеля прибіжища мого.
23 And he will render them their iniquity: and in their malice he will destroy them: the Lord our God will destroy them.	23 Він наведе на них їхню безбожність, в їх власній злобі їх погубить, — погубить їх Господь, Бог наш.
